The main room has the check out counter facing the door in the center of the room, so you can explore to either side: Lots of candle varieties including some made in state, lots of items with clever witticisms to make you think or smile, women's bags, wall hangings, and seasonal (Easter) pieces to add some charm to your home. And when you think you've seen it all, there is another room to the left that has even more items including rugs, lap quilts, and other cloth items. More seasonal items were out in preparation for the weekend sale. The woman who was working apologized for the store being in transition, but it was still neat enough that I wouldn't have known there was anything out of place unless she had told me. She let me browse and asked how I had heard about the shop. I was surprised that nobody had reviewed her store yet on Yelp. When I was ready to make a purchase, she immediately stopped what she was doing so that I didn't have to wait. That's a person who gets customer service. Don't expect it to be large, it is only one in room, but they expect to have local artwork on the walls soon and might possibly consider expansion at some time in the future. For a little shop though it has some charming items and yes, it was hard for me to get out of the shop without buying something for myself. (I succumbed!) One of my favorite things about this shop is they are selling items made by local artisans. I love not only shopping local but supporting local people. Quilted items, maple syrup, jewelry etc. There is one issue, however, and that is parking. It is very limited but if you find the parking lot full then take advantage of on-street parking. Just don't park in spaces intended for nearby businesses. Not cool.

ok-i have to come out and say right off the bat that i am not an artist, nor do i work with…read moreglass--although i did work at a company that did a lot of glass walls--think 1/2 inch glass--but this is a lot different. my girlfriend is the artist and works with glass and she and i had a discussion about coming here. i am totally enamored with the tour, the production and the information presented. what really blew my mind away is the trememdous customer service attitude that i witnesses today. she needs something specific, and the great care that was shown her in finding particular colors of glass really impressed me. too often it seems that in a lot of places the care of the customer is overlooked. not here--by a long shot. and you gotta take the tour even if you are not looking to buy or work with glass. it is fantastic to watch and i suppose in the oven room on a very cold winter day would be a great place to be but even so today was delightful even with the heat outside. thanks again for the time and care that everyone showed us today in trying to find something special. and yes, the drive was worth it.

Kokomo Opalescent Glass is America's oldest glass manufacturing company. They began manufacturing…read morecolorful sheet glass in 1888 and, today, produce 75% of the world's stained glass. I took a tour of their factory today. Tours are available weekdays by calling their office. The 45 minute tour costs $6 for adults and $3 for students. The tour starts and ends in their small gift shop. We visited and saw demonstrations of molten glass moving from furnaces to make sheet glass. We learned about how they mix colors and recycle waste glass. We visited their warehouse and learned about the different qualities of glass and how the glass is shipped. Finally, we saw artisans making decor pieces from the glass. Our tour guide was friendly and interesting. I had trouble hearing her in the furnace room, but still was able to follow. Closed shoes must be worn (no sandals). They provide safety glasses. We found ample parking in their lot. Restrooms are available on site. The buildings are ancient and interesting. The furnace building holds a beehive furnace that was interesting, but is no longer operational. Worth a visit to this Indiana treasure.

I was a bit nervous ordering online as someone not local since I've been burned before, but this was truly FANTASTIC from start to finish. They had a great selection to choose from, and the bouquet I ordered--the Botanical Beauty Bouquet (Premium), looked exactly like the photo when it was delivered. That alone was impressive. What really set them apart, though, was their thoughtfulness. They asked for the recipient's phone number so they could confirm she would be home to receive the flowers, especially with the storms today. This is such a smart and customer‑focused policy. Far too many times, flowers are left on a porch in extreme heat or cold, which completely defeats the purpose. Debbie's Designs clearly cares about ensuring the recipient gets a beautiful, fresh arrangement in perfect condition. Bravo to the team! I don't live in the Crown Point area, but I will absolutely order from them again anytime I need to send flowers there.

I live out-of-state and didn't go with 1-800-Flowers because you never know what florist they will choose. Debbie's has great Yelp reviews so I picked an arrangement right off their website site. I placed the order on Monday (Memorial Day) and since it was a holiday, so even though they offer next day delivery, I requested Wednesday delivery so I wouldn't get stuck with the leftovers. They made a delivery. That's the only positive thing I have to say. I asked my sister to send me a picture of what she received. Frankly, I'm embarrassed. And livid. Before the $17 delivery fee to go to Lowell or the $5 web fees and taxes, I paid $60 for the flowers and vase. What she got was greenery with a couple carnations, a white rose that had seen better days, and some sad-looking droopy lavender flowers in a dollar store vase. What if I had not done the $10 upgrade? Would she have gotten just some greens? Keep in mind, people take pictures of the "good" side of arrangements. So how bad is the back side? I should have asked one of her neighbor kids to get a $10 bouquet from Stracks and paid him the $17 to deliver it. I tried to call Debbie's directly at 4pm eastern time and got the vacation message that they would be back on the 27th, which was today so they can't even make sure their voicemail messages are accurate. What a joke! Maybe they do a better job when you are picking up an order and they have to see your face. I'd give no star if Yelp allowed it.

I ended up choosing 5 different scents and mixed them to get my perfect fragrance. That gets mixed into wax, and then it sits for 2 hours & it's ready for pick up.
