We have used Heaven Sent Pet Care for 4 dogs now. While we have always been happy with their service, responsiveness and flexibility, our recent experience with them has been next level. A 1yo lab mix just joined our family somewhat suddenly. He was a bit anxious and didn't warm up to everybody right away. They came to meet him a few times before we needed the walking to start so that he would be comfortable. They were VERY patient as he worked through his fears and now he does zoomies when his walker comes to take him out. read more

We're still using Heaven Sent and we couldn't be happier. I don't have any material updates, I just wanted to post again to reiterate the praise from my original review and let folks know we've been using Heaven Sent continuously since then too. Bravo Heaven Sent! read more

For a business that essentially provides one type of service, there is some room for improvement. Since this service involves a rotating crew of sitters, it is important to me that those people are fairly flawless in the service provided. Unfortunately, the service is very spotty; some sitters were wonderful while others made me more worried while I was away from home. The other issue with this business is the security of the keys to your home that they keep in their possession. To be crystal clear: I never had any distrust or concern about the sitters entering my home. I do however think that the process used by the company to obtain and control the security of the keys while in their possession needs improving. This company may be o.k for some people, but I will not use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

I used this service for 2 years for dog walking and dog sitting and left under terrible terms. I was away on business and the dog sitter not only let my dogs get out, but she answered my home phone while 2 of my dogs were still loose- why was she in my house while my dogs were out and in danger???????????? The dog sitter, Shari, lied to me about small things. I found out when I received an email from Heaven Sent office providing me with information that was in direct contradiction with what the dog sitter had told me directly. These are people that have access to your home and your four legged family members. I did not feel the customer concern for my pets, the security of my home, or concerned responsiveness from this business. I also became concerned at the end about the staffing choices they were making. I had to change all of my locks and move on to a more concerned service. read more

We've used Heaven Sent a number of times to watch our dog while we've been out of town or are away for the whole day. They are incredibly organized and responsive. We've used other dog-walking services and had issues with communication/information management - this isn't the case at Heaven Sent, they are incredibly well managed and professional. Our dog has special needs (separation anxiety and dog aggression) and all the sitters are patient and know how to handle her issues. We also appreciate the periodic updates on how our dog is doing. Overall we love Heaven Sent's services! read more

I am very selective, in fact, I have an itinerary for my dog who is very used to a schedule. I was very nervous at first, but when Shari followed through that the sitters will text me, and they did daily with pictures and I had 1 sitter I was very satisfied. I understand that in any business you may have to have more than 1 person over a period of time, I was lucky with Paige, she was outstanding.. She did everything I asked and more, I had a urgent need to overnight something and she did that as well. What more can you ask for when she also works FT. I and our lab/beagle are very lucky to have her and found Shari who oversees the service as it should be.. Michelle & Jim read more

I am so pleased to write a review for Heaven Sent. If for no other reason than to let other pet owners know that this above average company and its employees exist. I am one of those "crazy" pet owners who is picky about the people/companies that I select to care for my babies. Heaven Sent has been caring for my four-legs for a little over 3 years. I have a dog and two cats. The company has consistently been wonderful to work with. The sitters have always done an excellent job of caring for and cleaning up behind my animals. I travel a lot and have always been happy to come home to happy and clean pets. Also, the owner has many times gone above and beyond to accommodate me when last minute situations have come up. And the rates are consistent with other local pet sitters. You will not be sorry if you have this company care for your babies. read more

I would give more than 5 stars if I could for Heaven Sent and my cat sitter Masa! I was traveling for over 2 weeks and came home to find my cat happy and healthy- like I never left! Daily e-mails (and picture) were sent to me every day and a daily 'report card' was left on my counter after I returned from vacation with all the details of how the visit went. Another awesome thing was that the area around my cat's litter box was so clean and I could not even tell where he had a few 'accidents' because it was so well cleaned up. I was able to really enjoy my vacation knowing that Masa (and Heaven Sent) were taking such great care of my fur baby. I am so grateful for Heaven Sent! read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Heaven Sent! We use them for daily walks for our dog and just used them for a long weekend overnight stay while we were on vacation. We have been THRILLED with the level of care, attentiveness and responsiveness from the entire company and would highly recommend their services. It's obvious that everyone who works there loves animals and are well trained. Truly the best dog walking service we have found - such a relief knowing our fur-baby is so well taken care of when we are away! read more

Absolutely love these guys. All the walkers and staff are so wonderful! They genuinely care about Magic and are so respectful to our home. Heaven Sent Pet Care - Pet Sitting Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

I used to work for heaven sent pet care. it Is a great company with dedicated employees. I do recall my boss coming to a house of a dog that was known to be aggressive and help me get him outside. they don't just hire anyone. they make sure you know the job description and you are knowledgable about working with animals. I can honestly say this was a job I loved going to everyday. I read a lot of reviews saying this company does not screen applicants or do background checks. Well first of all if you are new to the job you will never ever be given access to someone s home you are always paired up with a dog walker who has worked with the company for a while. Heaven sent does require a background check on all employees. read more

So happy with the walkers Heaven Sent Pet Care has provided for our 12 year old lab! The walkers are very kind, courteous and professional. My lab is always waiting at the door for the walker to arrive. read more

They take excellent care of my puppy, Zoe. Shari, one of the owners, is very thorough, and has helped me out several times when in a bind. The dog walkers always write a short progress report after her walk. If you work long hours, they will make sure to take good care of your pet until you return. read more

I have used Heaven Sent for cat and dog sitting and dog walks for the past several years. They are absolute pros, both the office staff and the care teams! They love animals, and work really hard to provide seamless, responsible, fun care. I would call them true partners in helping me raise my dog, who came to me at 4 months and is a loving and pretty good 2 year old now. I often seek guidance, feedback and input from our walkers and sitters to make sure that what I see in my angels is the same thing they see. They are proactive, attentive, and very responsive. Really excellent. read more

Heaven Sent Pet Care go above and beyond!! They are consistently caring, reliable and will go the extra mile when last minute things come up (as they always do)! We can't say enough good about their level of compassion, integrity and general service. We are grateful to have this team of dog walkers/carers in our lives. read more

Yes as a pet parent this does come in handy to have. I have known people who do not trust their pets to anyone, and Heaven Sent Pet Care has hired people and screened people. I was an applicant and as much as I love dogs and had cared for one for 15 years they still have not accepted me. read more

We love how thorough and kind Heaven Sent Pet Care is. They are incredibly organized and committed to caring for pets and putting your mind at ease while you're gone. They ask all of the right questions and follow through exactly with their commitment. We have three cats, which is a lot (!) and the folks at Heaven Sent were so patient, caring and detail oriented. The apartment was extra clean and our cats were calm and happy when we returned! We are so grateful for how professional and easy this service is! read more

Have been using them for over a year. Owner is nice and knows how to run a business. However, some walkers are better than others. We had a dog walker who would not follow our instructions (changing water bowl) or removing shoes upon entering (we have white carpet). But we had another girl who was super sweet with our pup and did a great job. Key takeaway: interview the actual dog walker and request that they be your regular. Better for you and your pup. read more

So happy with the care that the Heaven Sent Pet Care Team provides to our pup and kitty. They take wonderful care of our pets during daily walks. We have also had the team there take care of our pets provide overnight care during vacations. They are amazing, friendly, helpful. Heaven Sent was recommended by my vet. I called twice... left messages... never received a return call.

Wonderful, very responsive and take great care of our puppy. It was very easy to set up service and very easy to make changes. They also anticipate issues such as days off etc and reach out to you early. We have been very happy with Heaven Sent. read more

We've been using Heaven Sent for nearly a year now for our Golden Retriever puppy. He has some special medical needs in addition to normal puppy mishaps and the walkers are always so attentive, reliable, professional and loving towards our boy. The management staff is top-notch as well, always responding quickly to emails, working with schedule changes and occasionally calling me if there were any issues that needed to be addressed immediately. We've never had a single missed appointment, burglar alarm problem or any significant issue or procedural lapse even as our dog's procedures change as he grows into adulthood. I can't imagine a better experience than the one we've had over the last year. read more

Have been using Heaven Sent for scheduled daily dog walks, emergency weekend dog walks and in-home pet-sitting for vacations for the past 9 months. 110% satisfied! This company is professional, detail-oriented and very easy to work with. Initially I had a lot of anxiety about turning over my keys, my home and my dogs to strangers. No more. These folks are great-from the owner to each individual who has come into our home. We had a free in-home consultation within hours of calling and they've continued to be easily accessible and helpful from day one. Truly AWESOME! Look no further, they are the best around. read more

I've been using Heaven Sent for over a year, and I'm very happy with their service. The walkers have been responsible and consistent (i.e., I have one main walker who comes nearly all the time, the walkers pay attention to instructions, I've never come home and found the door left unlocked). It is easy to set up and cancel appointments. The owner is, of course, an animal lover, but she's also clearly focused on running a reliable and professional operation. read more

Heaven Sent Pet Care is the best pet sitting company I have ever worked with! We have two cats, one of which has high anxiety. We have had two sitters through Heaven Sent Pet Care, both of which went above and beyond when watching our cats. The sitters truly pay attention to our cats when they visit - they do not just feed the cats and leave. The pet sitters also text us daily with updates, something that really helps put our minds at ease about leaving our cats alone in the house. read more

In my previous post, I stated that he is an excited puppy, not small. Although he is also still small for a 9 month old lab. We have also worked with professional trainers that have told us that those tactics of holding his muzzle or pinning him down to correct his behavior were what established that respect to the human. If Heaven Sent had better walkers, they would have thought to grab one of the many treats available to try and calm the dog as well. All of the notes the walkers left said otherwise "great walk" and "Zeus was good during our walk today" so it's funny to hear all these things now. When we spoke to Shari on the phone, I did say that having one primary walker, versus 3 in one week would be better, but we did NOT say we would want to cancel visits on the days he wasn't available as we are in great need of a dog walker. Also-- the service we use now has had no complaints. read more
