I didn't have a chance to get a service that day, but I noted that the people that did were having a blast; it was like a block party at the spa! So, today I took advantage of a break in my day and the fact that Spa Fly was at our office and I got a facial. While it wasn't necessarily the most relaxing, luxurious facial (there was high energy party music playing on the truck), it was still a wonderful breather and treat to my afternoon. Ashley was the esthetician that did my facial and she was friendly and knowledgeable about the product line. In just over 30 minutes, my face was cleansed, exfoliated, steamed, clarisoniced, and moisturized - it's now glowing! She also gave me a mini hand and lower arm massage. My neighbors and coworkers have also taken advantage of some of the other services they offer including manicures, pedicures, shampoo and blowouts, makeup and waxing. Everyone seems to love the services and idea of this mobile spa... the inside of this vehicle has been transformed into a bright, comfortable, modern and beautifully decorated spa! Spa Fly is perfect for a girls night out or any other kind of party... they are pricey but how cool that they come to you! I hope to hire them for a special occasion in the future - perhaps even a big birthday approaching later this year?!

I had a disappointing experience at this Drybar location that left me feeling really discouraged…read more I came in for a wash and blowout and requested the "Southern Comfort" style with as much volume as possible -- big, bouncy curls. I also explained to my stylist that I'm currently recovering from major surgery and was only four days post-op, which is why I came in for the service since I'm unable to wash my hair myself right now. My stylist was very sweet, but the service itself felt rough during the wash and blow-dry. When the blowout was finished, I was honestly shocked at how underwhelming the result was. There was barely any curl, very little volume, and my hair was frizzy and poofy rather than smooth and polished. It looked nothing like the style I requested or what I've received at Drybar in the past. Because I was already feeling lightheaded and exhausted from surgery recovery, I didn't have the energy to address it in the salon and decided to just go home. However, I called the salon shortly after leaving to explain the situation. Unfortunately, the conversation with the manager, Bailey, made the experience even worse. She immediately came across as defensive and cold rather than empathetic. She told me she would call me back before the end of the day, but I never received a call. During the conversation she questioned why I hadn't said something while I was still there so another stylist could fix it, which felt dismissive given the circumstances I had already explained. I understand that things don't always go perfectly with services, but the way concerns are handled makes all the difference. The lack of empathy and follow-through left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed enough that I will not be returning.

I've been coming to the Perry Monge SalonSpa for over 25 years, and there's actually quite a story…read morebehind how I became such a loyal client! When I moved to Phoenix in 1997, I needed to find a good salon. I tried several different places and always seemed to leave disappointed. Then I had a particularly bad color experience at a salon in Chandler that left my hair slightly green and extremely damaged. I came to Perry hoping he could help fix it. It took several visits to get my hair healthy and looking normal again. Perry told me at the time that my hair had been so damaged I was lucky I hadn't lost some of it! That experience is what initially earned my trust and began a relationship with a stylist and salon that has now lasted more than 25 years. I started seeing Perry when the salon was located at the old Mercado Plaza. I followed them when they moved to the Collier Center, and then again in 2018 when they moved to their current location at CityScape. After all these years and three different locations, I'm obviously not going anywhere! The minute you walk through the door, you can tell it's an Aveda salon just by the scent in the air. I'm always greeted with a friendly smile, and one of the first things they ask is what I'd like to drink. My favorite is their iced cappuccino! The salon itself is beautiful, bright and incredibly clean. I love all of the windows and natural light. They also offer so many little extras that make getting your hair done feel like an experience rather than just an appointment. Before you even begin, you change into a smock and receive a back and scalp massage with your choice of uplifting or relaxing aromatherapy. Sometimes someone will even come around and offer a hand massage while you're having your hair done. Talk about being pampered! After all these years, Perry is still the only stylist I completely trust to cut my hair. He understands exactly how my hair naturally lays and knows how to cut it so that it works with my hair. That kind of knowledge and experience is hard to replace. Patricia and Alma have also been there for as long as I can remember, and after more than 25 years, everyone almost feels like family. There's a little full-circle story that always makes me smile. When my daughter was little, we would bring her wagon into the salon and she would sell Girl Scout cookies to the staff. Apparently, I also made the mistake of bringing her here for a haircut instead of one of those kids' salons where they sit in little cars and watch movies, because after that, this was the only salon she ever wanted to go to! Now she's 19 and comes to the same salon to see Alma for her cut and color, and she is always extremely happy with her results. There's something pretty special about watching your daughter grow up and eventually become a client at the same salon you've trusted for more than two decades. My only wish is that they were closer to me. I live in the Southeast Valley, so it's about a 30-minute drive for me to get to CityScape, but Perry is absolutely worth the drive. And if the thought of parking in downtown Phoenix makes you hesitate, don't let it. CityScape has underground parking, and the salon validates your parking ticket, which makes it very convenient. Beautiful salon, wonderful service, talented people and more than 25 years of great experiences and memories. Perry earned my trust all those years ago when he rescued my hair, and there's a reason I've continued making the drive to see him ever since.

I got a haircut with Jennifer (who normally does an incredible job) but messed me up. she cut more than i asked off and cut a huge chunk out of my front pieces. I went back to get it fixed by the owner Perry who tried to assist in fixing it but I later noticed more errors with the haircut. I went back for a second time to get it fixed and he argued with me about the haircut being uneven. I was hoping they were going to fix it but I just left feeling worse. The only positive is that they are processing a refund but I will not be returning. I have booked an appointment elsewhere to get it fixed.

So many 5* reviews because this place rocks!…read more I have gone to several upscale salons around Camelback and Biltmore, and they never get the blonde right. It's always too orange, yellow or blue. Don't they know what blonde means?! Sheesh, I mean that is their business to know! I've even brought photos on my phone to show them what I wanted. They don't listen. They overcomplicate the whole process. They layer all kinds of products and services. They say they cannot achieve the blonde you want without using a toner/glaze. They say they cannot lighten your hair enough with just bleach. They say that would damage your hair. Then they put you under a hot dryer, use super hot water to shampoo/rinse you, and blow dry your hair with superheated air -- which actually damages years of hair growth. Then they offer you a deep conditioning treatment. They are purposely causing damage so they can charge for a hair cut to cut off the damage. They use several steps and products which take 3-4 hours and charge you $300-$500 for all their time and "effort" when all you needed was some bleach without even going under a dryer, some purple shampoo in the bowl, a quick blow dry (ON MEDIUM HEAT) and you're outta there.
