Wilshire has been around for a long time, and is a very busy course. You will have a much easier…read moretime getting off if you wait until the afternoon or a tee time. There are lots of members/regulars that play there so be prepared to wait between holes. The course is fairly challenging but there are several holes that allow for easy scoring. The greens were not in the best of shape last time I played there...kind of a grayish color. The second hole is always wet even during a 100 year drought I think it would be "swampy". It is also not a cheap course either, $26 to play after 1pm, weekday! You will meet some good people on the course though and can usually find a few people to play with if you are short a person or two for a foursome.

The clubhouse had several large rooms fitting 10-15 tables. The decor was nice and classy, not too over the top. It was very loud, but I guess it was to be expected with how many people there were (a few hundred). Parking was easy and plenty, even with so many people there. Playing in the early fall the course was in…read morereasonably good shape overall (the fairways were cut a bit long for my taste), and the greens were immaculate. IMMACULATE. True and challenging. Course offers a nice combination of uphill and downhill, long and short, left and right bending holes. There are some greenside bunkers but for the most part the green complexes are open in front (except for a couple of par 3s that you have to carry all the way to the green). Although the price gap between the riding discount of $25 and whatever walking costs can't be that much, the course is relatively walkable. I'm looking forward to ditching the electronic buggy next time. BTW, please ignore the idiot reviewer "Kevin G." and his BS comments about gunshot wounds and crack houses near the course. You are more likely to get hurt crossing the road while playing than you are from these other things.

It's actually pretty…read morecool that there is something like this at this location where you don't have to drive out very far. That said, it's nothing incredibly fancy but it does the job. On that note, basically it is a very nice simple location with adequate facilities and reasonable prices. It's definitely not as fancy as you might get somewhere else, but it's not trying to be. So if you're just looking for a place to go practice your swing, this is great. Relaxed atmosphere and a little bit of quiet without driving to a country club is great. They also have a simple mini golf section. It's really definitely not their main feature. And in the offseason times like Fall, you probably won't be seeing it cleaned much, so expect leaves on the course. That said, it's kind of like a seasonal Hazard that changes up if you think of it that way. You can tell people mostly come for the practice range. But on a plus side the lack of crowding means you would have a lot of fun with kids. And unlike other mini golf areas nearby, you don't have to contend with being quite as noisy. There isn't a lot of traffic on the nearby Road and you actually are set off well enough with trees to make it feel a little more easy-going.
