She always showed up with a smile on her face and a positive attitude (even when I was getting to be bridezilla). She accommodated every request and offered suggestions to make the wedding run as smoothly and beautifully as possible. We had some issues with our venue (that's another story) and weren't able to set everything up the night before the wedding. There was so much left undone, and I had a plan for it all. I gave Michele a super quick run through of about 20 things I needed to be done the day of the wedding. I didn't know how she was going to get it all done or remember it all, but she did. I didn't do a thing the day of the wedding, Michele and her girls took care of it all -- and it looked amazing! She got every detail right, paid attention to every request I gave her. She respected my ideas and my vision and honored that to give me my perfect day. She was kind and professional and truly was happy for both of us on the day of our wedding. You can tell Michele does this because she loves it. She is genuine and generally a lovely person to be around. Honestly, my wedding would not have been what it was without Michele.     From the Bride: When we booked our venue, the event manager advised us that we didn't really need…read moreto hire an outside coordinator; apparently very few couples getting married at the Madonna Inn enlist additional help. Because we live out of the area and wanted to enjoy our wedding day as thoroughly as possible, we decided to go ahead and find some extra help who would make sure everything ran smoothly. I interviewed half a dozen highly-qualified planners/coordinators in the SLO area before finding Planimation Events to help us with month-of and day-of services. My initial impressions of Michele were that she was kind, competent, and well-organized; but it turns out her qualifications don't end there! Before the wedding Michele worked with each of our vendors to make sure everyone was well-coordinated and everything was as we planned it. From making sure flags in the reception room were removed before dinner (long story) to perfectly placing each last bit of decor, Michele and her team knew exactly what it took to make sure everything ran smoothly. On the day of the wedding we didn't see Michele much because she and her assistant were actively running the "show behind the show"; everything ran on time and according to plan - if there were any snafus, we had no idea because Michele took care of it. With Planimation's help we were able to relax (well, as much as one can on their wedding day!) and enjoy all our friends and family knowing that Michele had taken care of everything we threw at her along the way. Now here's the part where I get sappy and maybe even a little teary-eyed. Michele and her team provided exactly what we hired Planimation to do flawlessly; make sure all details were taken care of so we could be as present as possible on our wedding day. But the services Michele provided that weren't written in any contract or advertised on her website lie in the deep care and concern she showed for us (the bride and groom) as nervous humans trying to manage our emotions, our relatives, our wedding party, on the day of the biggest party we'll probably ever throw. She and her assistant kept us calm and laughing throughout the day; and not in a superficial way. I truly believe that Michele cares deeply about the people she works with and for; something rare in an industry dedicated to creating "picture perfect" days. With Michele's help our day not only LOOKED picture perfect but FELT picture perfect. Thank you, Planimation, for providing us peace of mind, kindness, and friendship. You have our deepest gratitude for your soulful support and buoyantly positive attitude. We love you! From the Groom: I was very reluctant to spend money on a wedding coordinator when both my wife and I are capable and well-organized. Michele turned out to be a wise investment, leaving wedding-ruining chores and stress to her and her staff, allowing us to enjoy our wedding. Michele was exactly what we needed. So much so, that I was…read moreemailing and booking out his bounce house a month before [at first with another company]. They assured me that everything was set and good to go via email. I even called them a week before the party to make sure everything was good. They said yes. Then the morning OF the party, with 60 people expected, I get a TEXT message from a company saying they can't make it and sorry. Really?! Luckily, in a mad rush to find someone that had an available bounce house, we stumbled upon Jessica's Jolly Jumps online. Thank goodness we did! They saved the day. They were reliable, efficient, extremely friendly, clean and most of all...professional!! Will definitely be passing out their cards, and referring them to my clients with kids. He followed up with me a few days prior to the event to see if we wanted a wet or dry bounce slide. The day of the event he called/texted me in the morning to confirm the time he would be at our home and to give us the final price based on the slide we chose. They arrived on time, did their job, set up a plan to return, and were gone in a few minutes. The bounce house/slide was fantastic! The kids and adults had a wonderful time. It was the best birthday party we've ever put on. From here on out, we'll always skimp on the minutia in order to have a bounce house/slide at our parties. If you plan in advance, have a good attitude, and don't expect the world out of a bounce house company, you should be pretty satisfied with your experience. None of our local bounce house companies get stellar reviews online. I did my research and picked one that did a great job. I'll be a repeat customer.

    Can't really give her a 1, because we were not able to use her…read more We know nothing about her, so we contacted her to ask about her service, as well as placed to have the ceremony, etc. She emailed us back with "Let me know exactly what you want and I will give you a quote!" Well, we are not from the area and don't know "exactly what we want" so we gave her an idea, along with the fact that we really are not sure yet. Her reply, again very short and almost rude, was "I do not to any consulting. I can do your service for $295." She added that "I have done over 1000 weddings." Well, with responses like that, she wasn't going to have 1001 be ours. We needed a little bit of assistance in where is good, etc. We got more assistance from a receptionist at a hotel than we did from Andrea - and we were wanting to hire Andrea to do our wedding. Alternatively, we contacted Sandy White, an officiant new to the area. She drove from Los Osos to Pismo to meet with us, gave us advice on the area, and her rate is one third of what Andrea charges. We are not married yet, so we will review her after the ceremony. But definitely don't need "services" like Andrea is providing.

However, many of our out-of-town friends weren't up for a destination wedding on a Monday, so when we realized we didn't have enough people to fill the tent (we expected 50-75 guests), Colleen was still able to help us. She put us in touch with the Pismo State Beach people and we ended up having our reception on a sand dune next to the golf course. We actually took a bunch of wedding photos on the golf course itself, and then Colleen helped us re-locate our wedding across the parking lot on the outdoor patio at Fin's restaurant. It was really lovely and nothing we would have ever figured out how to do on our own. Colleen coordinated our chair set up for the ceremony on the sand dune and was an awesome, completely dependable and calm on-site coordinator for our reception. I had a ton of questions before our big day, and Colleen was always so patient and friendly and helpful.

    I tell everyone that my wedding was absolutely flawless - but I'm sure that wasn't the case…read more However, I know that IF there were any issues Jessie would have handled them before they even got to me. If I'm correct, and there weren't any issues, it is because Jessie is THAT good at her job! I cannot say enough amazing things about her. Truly, this tiny little space is nowhere near enough room for all the incredible ways that Jessie made my wedding perfect!! She far exceeded our expectations. We hired Jessie as our day of coordinator, but her help begun well before our wedding day. Anytime I needed advice, had a question or needed recommendations she was readily available to walk me through it! We had initially hired another planner and had an awful experience. We ended up firing her and hiring Jessie and I am SO glad that we did. Jessie did way more work as a day of planner than our "full service" planner did. Any issues that came up before the wedding, Jessie was able to solve for us. The day before our wedding one of our vendors called her saying that they forgot to bring our sweetheart table. When Jessie broke the news to me, she was calm and offered a couple of different solutions. The company we ended up getting our table from had mentioned that the table was not available for rent, but they made an exception because of Jessie. That is how well known and respected she is in this industry. Every little detail was perfect. She did an incredible job setting up our decor and coordinating all of our vendors. The rehearsal dinner was smooth, quick and to the point. She somehow managed to keep our entire bridal party + families in line (we had a bridal party of 25). She even made sure that my husband and I were able to eat at the ceremony by literally standing guard and blocking people from bothering us! It has been almost 3 months since our wedding and to this day, my family and friends still rave about Jessie. They all say how incredible she was. She was on top of it, organized & fun. I can't thank her enough for all the hard work and effort she put into our special day! Jessie, I'm just gonna get married every day so I can hang out with you ALL the time!!!

    I really wanted to have a good experience with Rose, but she ultimately let me down in terms of her…read morecommunication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit. Throughout the planning process, she often took 1 to 2 weeks to respond to me, even though our contract stated that communication would be available with a "24 hour response time, usually less." When Rose did reply to me, she failed to fulfill her biggest responsibilities, like proposal reviews, part of what she offered in her partial planning package. Based on lack of communication alone, I should've terminated my contract with Rose to the Occasions sooner than I did. At the time, however, I wanted to give her business the benefit of the doubt. So, I communicated my concerns to her, expressed how excited I was for my wedding and how I wanted to work as a team to help plan it, and, in doing so, I would need her to reply to my emails. Even after articulating my concerns, Rose failed in her communication. But lack of communication wasn't the only major issue I had with Rose to the Occasions. At one point, Rose told me that she'd instructed the florist to change our floral centerpieces from medium to small, as per my request. A few weeks later, when I noticed that the centerpieces had not been changed in my contract with the florist, the florist informed me that Rose hadn't contacted her at all. Eventually, I ended my contract with Rose. Throughout the entire planning process, which I had hoped to be joyous and exciting, I was burdened with the responsibility of trying to get Rose to communicate and perform her responsibilities as outlined in our agreement. I also lost thousands of dollars. Please take heed if Rose responds to this review as, in my experience with her, she tends to lean into defensiveness and combativeness. For example, she might reply that I didn't contact her properly as I sometimes texted her, but of course I had to text her if she was completely unreachable via email and the internal portal. Rose might also complain about the 90-minute drive she took to Santa Barbara to conduct an initial walkthrough. If you are not willing to invest the time it takes to uphold your contract, don't take the booking. Brides, grooms, and to anyone else planning a special day--the choice is yours.
