ZERO STARS -- HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!!!!…read more
As a former HR employee who personally experienced the transition to the current management, I feel obligated to share my experience. My biggest concern is for the clients and families who depend on this company. Their care, safety, consistency, and quality of service should always come first. Unfortunately, based on what I personally witnessed, management decisions frequently created problems for both clients and employees.
Families should not have to deal with inconsistent care, staffing issues, last-minute changes, or uncertainty about whether their loved ones will receive the services they depend on. Clients deserve qualified staff, reliable service, and management that takes responsibility when problems arise.
As the HR employee, I was also responsible for concerns involving hiring and compliance. Based on what I personally witnessed, there appeared to be significant pressure to hire as many people as possible, sometimes placing speed of hiring ahead of qualifications and proper documentation. On more than three occasions, Breanne, the General Manager, told me that the I-9 audit was not a priority. In my opinion, ensuring employees are properly documented, qualified, and eligible to work should never be secondary to simply filling positions.
I also personally witnessed, along with approximately 12 other office employees, what appeared to be a serious double standard in how employees were treated. The employee responsible for payroll had created and implemented the company's new payroll system. After becoming a new parent, he requested only one day off during a non-payroll week to care for his newborn and help his wife. He even offered to work from home that day, but management repeatedly insisted he come into the office and did not allow the remote arrangement. He was later terminated.
What was particularly concerning to me and others in the office was that the company subsequently brought in someone who was permitted to work solely from home. I also personally knew that the new payroll employee and the president had a longstanding friendship. Based on what I witnessed, this raised serious concerns among us about whether employees were being treated consistently and fairly.
Payroll was another major issue. On payday--one of the most important days for employees--two, and sometimes all three, members of management were often unavailable even though immediate management involvement was needed to address incorrect paychecks. Office employees were left dealing with frustrated field employees and the consequences of payroll mistakes they did not create, while sometimes receiving criticism themselves.
Some field employees traveled from as far away as Sacramento to pick up their checks, only to discover there were payroll problems. Many understandably did not want to continue working until they were properly paid for the work they had already completed.
During my time in HR and throughout the management transition, I personally witnessed six key individuals who had contributed significantly to the operation of the company being removed or leaving. These were experienced employees who had worked there considerably longer and had helped maintain successful relationships with both clients and staff.
In my personal opinion, the current leadership of Stephen, Breanne, and Jennifer has demonstrated poor leadership, inconsistent decision-making, a lack of accountability, and concerning double standards.
Clients and their families deserve better. Employees deserve better. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company for themselves, their family, or employment to do their own research and carefully consider what they are signing up for.
