This place has the nicest chips ever, they are always fresh and hot and there has to be something in them to make them so special. Other than that they sell the same things as all other fish and chip shops like Pukka Pies and sausagues. There are tables in the shop so you can sit down and eat although i wouldnt recomend of it becasue the place is so hectic and the queue is always massive. But trust me its definatly worth the wait. The prices here are reasonable and very competitive and the service is good but i do feel sorry for them due to the volume of customers they have to deal with. Definatly a place to check out. Remember though, they are not open in the evening, just the afternoon.

Almost everyone in Loughborough has had food from this place and all of them will come back to have more. The quality and presentation of the food is amazing even if your eating in or taking out. Yes it might be one of Loughborough's oldest but it's also one of Loughborough's best.

Menu includes all the usual Mexican suspects - nachos (the best I've had anywhere), fajitas, burrito etc etc. Cactus Café is reliable - the food is consistently fabulous and I've never had a bad meal here. Mexican beers and cocktails also add to the appeal! Staff are friendly and helpful. It's worth booking, particularly on Mondays and Tuesdays which are cheap nights (two courses for about £8) and ask about their discount card which entitles you to two courses for a fiver on Mondays AND raises money for a cancer charity.

This is a genuinely good Mexican and I visit at every available opportunity. The menu is the usual fare Burrito's, Fajitas, Nachos, Quesidillas etc, but the taste is absolutely fantastic. The prices on the menu are also very reasonable and there are special party rates for larger groups. The margaritas are fantastic as is the Sangria that is on offer. If you can fit in a dessert I would highly recommend them! Book as this place gets busy at weekends (and even during the week).

Salim's has quite a long menu, so everyone can find something they'd enjoy to eat. Portions were surprisingly huge as well! I could barely finish mine (and I can eat a lot when taken to task), so if you're going with some mates don't be afraid to share! Atmosphere is nice, and so are the staff. It's a bit on the small side, so if they have a busy weekend I'd expect you'd have to book ahead. I was a bit disappointed in how long it took for our food to arrive (over an hour after we had ordered it, for 6 people). By the time it came we were absolutely starving, and a bit disgruntled. Still, the food was very good, though not worth that sort of wait - next time I'd do a takeaway for the convenience, and grab a few beers at a shop to avoid the massive price hike.

I know it's a small cafe so I won't hold it against them (I just think they could figure out a better seating pattern/layout - and update their plastic chairs while their at it!). On to the food and drink! We all ordered coffees which were delicious and you could tell time was put into making them. Even an effort for a little latte art!! We came in at a busy time so there was about a 10 min wait for coffees and 20-30 min wait for food. The Vegan club was absolutely AMAZING! Packed with avocado, tomatoes, hummus, chili chutney, falafel and some other goodies which I am forgetting. 10/10 and was toasted which I love!! Great flavor combo and was SO filling for 4.90.
