After purchasing a Cub Cadet mower from Home Depot we had an issue with engine. The only place to…read moreget it serviced under warranty is Burkhards. At first they seemed to work with us to get the issue resolved, once they had the mower in the shop they started to try to tell us that the battery was bad, even though the mower was less than 9 months old and that the blades were worn. It took over 6 weeks for them to get the warranty repairs done on the mower and when we got the mower back we inspected the "worn blades" that they stated they were gong to sharpen and the blades were never touched. then the battery that they said had to come from cub cadet costing $134.38 I found on line at batteries plus for $89. When I brought the issue with the blades not being sharpened, which they invoiced us for, they stated oh well and that they could not take the service off of the invoice because it was part of the service fee. The battery that they said had to come form cub cadet was the exact same battery that I found at batteries plus. Because Burkhards is the only cub cadet service provider in my area I was FORCED to use them to cover the warrantied motor problem. I WILL NEVER go back to them for any servicing of my mower as they under perform and lie about services provided.

This time I called him because of a leak I have in my RV where things have gotten damaged, he came and we agreed on the repair and he asked me for money for the materials of $560 which I zelled to him on 11/2/2025. On 11/5/2925 he texted me that he forgot to calculate the taxes and asked me to send him another $40 so now he has a total of $600 of my money and no work has been done. I have to be on top of him texting him about when will he start the job but the communication on his end has been terrible. He has given me 2 dates that he will pass by and doesn't pass by or even much sends a text to keep me posted. After sending him a message about a refund he showed up to just spray bleach for the mold and has not been back or sent messages. The excuses has been either he's in the hospital or his wife is. Last message I sent him was on 11/26/2025, he read the message and didn't bother to answer me. In the meantime it's been raining and my rv is suffering more damage. It is now 12/1/2025 No work has been started and no signs of any materials or my money. I wish there was an option for zero stars!

I first met Yusef, the owner, thru my boat mechanic. My boat mechanic, Hector, of GL Marine…read moreadvised that Yusef and his staff built a custom trailer for him which was superior to anything else. Well, my trailer, a Continental, broke an axle after 10 years. The Continental that I had was made with galvanized u-bolts which caused the trailer to rust thru the axle and snapped. I took my trailer to Yusef just for some repairs but when he told me what all that was wrong with my trailer (corroded bolts because Continental was built with inferior hardware, leaf springs corroded, bunks needing replacement, etc) that it was going to cost a lil over $1200 to get it the trailer right. I then asked what a new trailer was going to cost? He told me that the cost would be approx $2,800 BUT the new trailer would not only have torsil (sp?) suspension (to reduce maintenance), all stainless steel hardware and would be customized for my boat. I was pleasantly surprised by his price and really wanted to replace the trailer completely because it was never right from the beginning. And the maintenance on the leaf springs every couple of years was expensive! In addition,m my boat was always difficult to get off and on the trailer since I purchased it with the boat. At this point I asked what about my current trailer, what can I do to get rid of it? Yusef replied that IF I wanted to buy a new trailer, he would fix the minimum on my old trailer and I could sell it. I really wasnt excited to sell a trailer that really wasn't quite right nor did I have any idea how to get rid of it. I asked Yusef was there any other options and said that he would take my trailer on trade for a fair price and he would sell it. I was Ecstatic! I then asked, how long would it take? He told me that it would be a couple of weeks but that he would repair my old trailer so that I could continue to use it until my new trailer was built. What a problem solver! He also said that if I did buy a trailer from him, that I could always count on him for assistance should I break down or need help. WOW! After a couple of weeks, Yusef called and stated that he was ready to build my trailer and it would be a couple of days for the build. He called me, I brought my boat and his staff took several hours to custom fit the new trailer to my boat. What a beautiful trailer he built for me. I could not be happier!!!! The entire transaction went extremely smooth and Yusef is a stand up guy. You can really trust him. So a couple of months go by and I have problem with my lights. Of course I thought it was their fault but I had changed my vehicle and the running lights would not work. Blinkers worked and brake lights worked but no running lights. I called him after a day of fishing in miami and told Yusef the problem. He said bring it by immediately (unscheduled) and he would look at it for me. After a quick diagnosis, Yusef discovered that the problem was not with the trailer but my vehicle. He helped me diagnose the problem and showed me how easy it would be to replace a fuse. He wouldnt take a dime for his troubles. I cant tell you how polite and courteous Yusef and his staff treated me. He even gave me a couple of fishing shirts that he had made for his company. Literally every question we've had, they were knowledgeable and patient enough to answer for us. I don't know if they want this advertised, but Jared even gave us towing lessons. He is legit a prodigy when it comes to towing and we knew we were learning from the best. He has been so incredibly patient and encouraging. This engine was built with factory style dished pistons and a flat tappet cam. After 10 hours of light use the engine was trashed. The oil was glittery and when my mechanic opened up the bottom end, all of the bearing were scored from metal shavings in the oil. Apparently the block wasn't properly cleaned after machining and there was metal shavings inside the oil passages. My mechanic also told be the block was bored 60 thousands over and should never have been sold as a remanufactured marine engine. Yes, the cam was broken in with a high zinc oil and run at 2500-3000 rpm, then the oil was changed and filter cut open and inspected.

I was stuck in Florida because Fred tried to skirt the law and not issue me the required temporary tag, he finally relented when the State of Florida Motor Vehicle Office contacted him, advising him that he must supply the new owner (me) with a temporary tag since he is registered as a dealer. He gave me his dealer plate so I could drive the vehicle I purchase home and continued to call, text and email me on the entire trip and threatening to call the police if I did not get his dealer tag back to him immediately, though I was still not at my final destination. I mailed his tag back the following day I arrived home. This could have all been avoided if he just follow the law and issued the required temp. tage when I paid him.
