There are dead bugs in the facility, the bathroom sink leaks, and instead of fixing the light that went out weeks ago, they just placed a small lamp in there. There are no working water fountains, and for the past month, the gym has been closed due to a broken door. It's been almost impossible to get in touch with anyone -- no responses to messages, no updates, and no clear communication about when the gym will reopen. To make things worse, they charge an annual maintenance fee that's supposedly meant for repairs and upkeep, yet nothing ever gets fixed. This level of neglect and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. Members deserve better.

For example, in my very first class here, teens to folks in their 50s-60s joined in! The studio is kept clean and polished, is spacious, and has nice lighting. The studio's location is also great and accessible to people in the area. Parking is easy peasy, and the studio is next to food/boba shops you can easily go to after a good workout.

If you need anything -- massage, acupuncture, a midwife, etc. -- she knows someone or several someones. She is also a great listener, a kind voice of support and extremely knowledgeable about pregnancy, birth and parenting. A lovely person to know!

I've been a member to many gyms in my life time. From college gyms, bouldering gyms, 24 hour…read morefitness, work gyms, you name it! But Pinole AF will always be one of my favorites. Hands down. I joined last year because even though 24 hour fitness was more affordable, the machines and building were just going down hill fast. The last straw was when I had a partially torn meniscus. I couldn't go up and down stairs but I still went to the gym for rehab and for upper body. Their elevator has been out of service for WEEKS. Essentially making it nearly impossible for me to workout if I needed to use the restroom or locker rooms at all. After this I looked through multiple gyms, pricing and their benefits and went with Anytime. I absolutely LOVE that I can go to any of the AF gyms. I've been to a few others and it's been great to hit the gym when I'm traveling or on vacation. Overall Pinole AF is clean, safe and I love that I never really have had to wait for a machine. Yes the gym is small, but it makes up for it by being one of the most hygienic places I've worked out in. Most of the time if someone is on a machine they never truly hog it and I'm able to get my workout done in the time I want. I'm grateful to have found AF Pinole!

They vary location to location, and so far this is my favorite. I get my solid hour doing cardio, lifting, and stretching without feeling overwhelmed with a packed gym. They're constantly cleaning and sanitizing. Love that they have two showers. Makes it easy to get a workout in during lunch since my office is so close. Staff is really friendly and super helpful. It's been over a year since I've joined and overall, I've really enjoyed my time here!…read more The great thing about Orangetheory Fitness is the ability to go to other locations with your memberships; compared to other locations, the equipment here is on the older side but everything including the floors is very clean. I have never had an issue getting into a class here due to classes being at capacity, unlike at other studios where waitlists are the norm. Challenges and programs including DriTri, Hell Week, and 12 Days of Fitmas seem fun to do but always cost extra. The current rates have each increased $10/month for new members since my last review. I'm still paying $189 for an unlimited membership. The coaches here continue to be great and the app is user friendly. They do have an 8-hour cancellation policy for classes - if you don't show up or even need to reschedule the class within that window, you will get charged $12 unless you have an excellent reason. They are super responsive via text. Check out the Reddit page on Orangetheory Fitness for intel on the next day's class and other useful discussions. I've been deeply concerned about their customer service. Because of health issues I've had to extend my membership. They've been resistant or refused at times. Most recently, I injured myself running at Orange Theory and had the most difficult time suspending my membership. They seem uncaring and at times unresponsive to emails. I'm concerned that they don't actually care about including people with medical issues and only care about their corporate standards. If you come, I'd recommend a class pack to start and prepared to be very on top of paperwork and be prepared to provide doctors notes for extending memberships.
