There are dead bugs in the facility, the bathroom sink leaks, and instead of fixing the light that went out weeks ago, they just placed a small lamp in there. There are no working water fountains, and for the past month, the gym has been closed due to a broken door. It's been almost impossible to get in touch with anyone -- no responses to messages, no updates, and no clear communication about when the gym will reopen. To make things worse, they charge an annual maintenance fee that's supposedly meant for repairs and upkeep, yet nothing ever gets fixed. This level of neglect and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. Members deserve better.

My membership was only for the equipment, but you can pay a separate fee to join a class every now and then :) The gym itself is maintained nicely. The floors and equipment are always cleaned and there are plenty of sanitizing supplies in all corners of the space. There's little cubbies and lockers to place your belongings in + fitting rooms by the bathroom! This gym has been my safe haven. I usually go between 8-10am or 2-4pm and I only ever run into one person or none at all. It really helps with my gym-shyness haha. There are still very strict Covid rules- and all the members follow the precautions and wear masks at all times. I've never had any issues here! :)

I've been a member to many gyms in my life time. From college gyms, bouldering gyms, 24 hour…read morefitness, work gyms, you name it! But Pinole AF will always be one of my favorites. Hands down. I joined last year because even though 24 hour fitness was more affordable, the machines and building were just going down hill fast. The last straw was when I had a partially torn meniscus. I couldn't go up and down stairs but I still went to the gym for rehab and for upper body. Their elevator has been out of service for WEEKS. Essentially making it nearly impossible for me to workout if I needed to use the restroom or locker rooms at all. After this I looked through multiple gyms, pricing and their benefits and went with Anytime. I absolutely LOVE that I can go to any of the AF gyms. I've been to a few others and it's been great to hit the gym when I'm traveling or on vacation. Overall Pinole AF is clean, safe and I love that I never really have had to wait for a machine. Yes the gym is small, but it makes up for it by being one of the most hygienic places I've worked out in. Most of the time if someone is on a machine they never truly hog it and I'm able to get my workout done in the time I want. I'm grateful to have found AF Pinole!
