It's been a long time since I have done any sort of martial art. Just recently back in Dec '18, I…read moredecided to do a lot of homework and check out different martial arts. I landed on Kung Fu because of the internal and external focus. Sifu Loupos is absolutely fantastic and is committed to helping his students be successful, and will help you wherever you're at in your journey. He has spent his entire life focused on Tai Chi and Kung Fu, and teaches Northern Praying Mantis style, and mixes in a bunch of other things like Bagua, Tai Chi, stretching, breathing, and weapons work. He is very encouraging, gives individual attention, and expects a good attitude from everyone. Respect is critical -- respect given to grandmasters, teachings, and sifu. In the two months I have been going now, I have been able to do things that I never thought possible. I am noticing a difference in my health, my attitude, and my relationships. My wife has been incredibly supportive and likes the new attitude as well :) You will benefit more from embarking on this journey with Sifu than you even thought possible. I am still a novice, but am working on things and planning on sticking with this for quite some time. I always appreciate the encouragement, and the corrections he shows me. He is absolutely fantastic with the children -- and I have watched him work with younger kids (6-10 years old or so), and he is really great with them. He doesn't allow them to be disruptive, and is teaching them skills not just in Kung Fu, but life lessons that will serve them well for years and years. The only downside for me is that I wished I had joined a lot sooner, as I am 46 now, and my body can't quite move the way it needs to right now, so I know I have lots of work to do. Having a good attitude, and realize that there is always more to learn, and be ready to have sore muscles for at least 6 months while your body learns to do new things -- especially if you're out of shape or haven't done this sort of thing for a long time. My job is primarily behind a computer (Data Science), so I needed this to help me get in much better shape. If you decide to check out Jade Forest, tell Sifu that you read my Yelp review. ~Rich

It necessitated my going to the ship's Doctor, who emphasized the most important thing that I could do was to practice Tai Chi every day for 1 - 1 1/2 hours . While living in Florida I" learned" Tai chi through videos. Realizing that there was no one to tell me if I was doing it correctly, I felt that I needed to find a class with a teacher who could give me guidance. When I came back to Boston for the summer, I did quite a bit of research and based on the reviews decided to go to Randy's class. Randy is a TEACHER. He shares his extensive knowledge not only about the forms but also the why. It is important to him that his students maximize the physical and mental benefits of Tai Chi. This is exemplified by his individual attention that all of his students receive. He consistently moves around the class encouraging and correcting. Through his efforts I feel that I have begun the steps (baby steps) to really learn Tai Chi and have grown not only in the physical but also the importance of the mental aspects. Randy is truly vested in the success of his students. If you truly want to learn, Randy is a TEACHER

I have found my investment in Randy and his classes to be money well spent and will definitely refer friends and family to him.

Our practice is taught by Master Zhou Xuan Yun, a Daoist Monk who lived and trained in the Wudang mountains. We look forward to practicing together twice weekly, which is good for our health and gives us a sense of community. I am stronger now than I was 15 years ago. Learning this meditative form from the sacred mountains of traditional Wudang martial arts is the most important thing I have done for my well-being. I highly recommend this school 100%.
