I was sent caregivers that stole medication, that vaped in my home, that left my loved one covered in feces multiple times, and neglected and ignored my loved one. The company does zero testing or training of their caregivers. Every single person 9n staff that works for this company lied to me multiple times. I was routinely not informed of who was not showing up at my home, not informed of scheduling changes, there were times I had inquiries and had to wait weeks for responses if they bothered to respond at all. I was never treated like a client and was treated like an inconvenience. Upon terminating my service contract with the company, the owner, threatened to stop other caregiving services from working with me. He harassed me by email to the point that I filed a police report for harassment. So many emails. Once I terminated my agreement I began speaking with numerous owners of other caregiving companies in the area. I was advised to call the Better Business Bureau, and the pursue litigation. Other owners of caregiving businesses that have dealt with him have called him vile, unpleasant, a bully, and a terrible representation of the caregiving industry in Tucson. Use caution when dealing with anyone that is employed by this company! Beware of fake positive reviews of this company!

I have recently taken over caring for my brother who suffered a severe brain injury, and all I can say is that it was nightmare. They send out people on a temporary basis which is not good in my situation. I told them to stop sending temps to my home because my brother does not do good with change and with soooo many people coming in. They said they were going to hire someone specifically for my brother, it took about 8 weeks for them to send someone out meanwhile, I am exhausted! They send the woman out and the first day I thought she's great! Over a couple of days she's falling asleep and absolutely, could not wait to put him to bed, she determined he was tired, that's my families job, not hers. I could go on and on. Finally, I was told they would no longer help me. I absolutely could not believe it, I am continuing to struggle finding help. I would not recommend this company.

When I became a 24/7 caregiver for my elderly father, I expected I could handle it alone. I love my…read moredad and wanted to do my best for him. As his care needs, memory loss and dementia events increased, and his mobility decreased, I could not keep up. I couldn't get enough quality sleep. There was never enough time in the day to get everything done. He had so many medical appointments each week! My mental health took a dive as I realized that my commitment to my dad meant that things would only get harder for both of us. I had no idea how I would make it through. After an extensive internet search, I called Home Care Assistance of Tucson. As one of the owners, Mark, described their services to me, one thing in particular stuck out. He said that that their aim was that the caregiver would become, in a way, part of our family. In speaking with Katie, the case manager, during a home visit, she said the same thing. She also said that while I might feel, for a few weeks, that I needed to treat their caregivers like company by putting things away or cleaning up, but that I would soon relax and accept them in without making an extra work for me. I decided to give them a try. It was then (thank God) that Patricia entered our lives and became my dad's caregiver. Since that time, I have tripled the hours I started with as my dad's needs increase. Pati knows us so well now. She knows how to get my dad to eat and drink. She knows now to get him to laugh and to share his life memories. She knows what music to play. She handles his shower, which both my dad and I are so relieved by (no more dad/daughter embarrassment). She and my dad have their own jokes, stories, and (even) dances! She takes him out for lunch or a movie or one of their "adventure rides" when I need some alone time. She has even taken him to the dentist. She also knows me now. She knows when I just need to sleep or when I need to get out and have some fun in order to remember who I was before I became a caregiver. Pati uses the information she has learned from the regular training provided by Home Care Assistance to point out to me good hygienic practices and over the counter products like shampoos, soaps, and lotions that might make my dad more comfortable. She has let me know when my dad has rashes or other skin issues which I can then point out to his doctor for medical treatment. I could go on and on with similar examples! Another comfort for me is that Pati has seen many clients exhibit dementia symptoms. So when things my Dad says or does freak me out a bit, she can tell me about her own experiences with dementia which helps me to know that these sort of things can happen. That helps tide me over with my mental state until I can tell his doctor about it. Home Care Assistance also sends substitute caregivers when needed. Patricia (the other owner) and Mary and other office staff answer the phone most times right away and are helpful and lovely to deal with. It is so nice to talk to a real and friendly person! As Mark and Katie told me would happen, Pati has become a true part of our family, standing alongside my Dad and I as we navigate this season of his life. I hope my review gives you a good idea of the commitment to quality care that I have experienced over the past 2 years with Home Care Assistance. For my dad and I, they have lived up to the service levels that they promised when I first contacted them and made a world of positive difference in our lives.

DATELINE: Tucson AZ - AVENTAS HOME CARE SAVES WEDDING!…read more My whole family came to Tucson for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. As many families do, ours contains a couple of venerable members with significant cognitive and physical deficits. Also a taste for liquor. We didn't think they were coming but discovered two days before the wedding that we'd need places at the banquet table and (due to the above mentioned deficits) a considerable degree of supervision. My brother and I knew we would be unable to provide much oversight due to our involvement in the ceremonies and we were left dreading a day that we'd been looking forward to for months. Fortunately, we thought to call Shirley at Aventas. It's not they're usual gig but Shirley found us a bright young nursing student (Vivianna) who was able to blend in smoothly at the reception and deftly guide the worrisome members in such a way that they appeared not to even notice the supervision. The day came off without a hitch, a good time had by all and no need to involve Emergency Medical Servicesj or Law Enforcement. Thank you Shirley and Thank you Vivianna. I do hope you will market this ancillary service to wedding planners in your market.

Before I went to the facility, they also provided Home Health services - a licensed nurse, a PT, OT, PTA, Caregiver (for dressing , bathing and light personal activities), all of whom are excellent, and are the type of people I would choose as friends. They were all very professional, knowledgable and experienced, punctual and a delight to work with. Communications were always timely and appreciated when times had to be changed. After I was discharged from the facility, they resumed services seamlessly. I have worked in home care as a PT myself, and would highly recommend them.

Be advised that when a representative of Peppi's House tells you and your loved one that their goal…read moreis to make them comfortable, their definition of comfortable is being drugged to the point of being comatose. No matter if your loved one is writhing in agony from pain, pleading for the pain to end and/or is barely coherent, or your loved one is very much alert and coherent and is not in agonizing pain, the staff at Peppi's House will drug your loved one to the point of being completely unresponsive. My mom was one such person. She was absolutely 100% alert and as soon as she was transferred from the hospital to this hospice house and I went to visit her, she was comatose. Despite my multiple requests for them to not give her any narcotic, or even a quarter of what they were giving her, they persisted. Multiple employees stated that they were there to keep patients comfortable for as long as it takes, whether it takes two days to two weeks. I found that time line very odd and rather specific. So, there you have it folks, at Peppi's House, expect your loved one to be drugged into a coma (even if that's not what they wanted) and then with no food, or water, or any IV drip, their heart will cease to beat within 2 days to 2 weeks. I find this practice to be despicable and unethical.

I've had theft problems with a few of their "Care Pro's" (I used to keep a couple hundred dollars in cash on my desk for when I needed a store run done). Mistake, as it kept disappearing. I now give them my debit card for purchases. I've had hundreds of dollars spent at stores I don't send them to for groceries. I don't visit the Dollar Store, yet my debit card has been used there a few times. It happens to be near the grocery store that I send them to for errands. You don't have to be a detective to figure that one out, everything is time stamped into my bank account. I've had several other items magically disappear from my house. Computer monitor that I had stored in my home office that I no longer use vanished. If you like people who never shower and smell terrible (like make me leave the room kind of stink) when they kick off their shoes to go to sleep at noon on the couch. I've had days that I've had to open all my windows and air the house out when the "Care Pro" left for the day just to get rid of the lingering foot odor they left behind. If you want to pay to have someone stare at their phone and do nothing, enjoy having people steal from you, and have no expectations of quality care, this is the service for you.
