My elderly parents were concerned because the pilot light would not come on in their gas fireplace…read more I recommended my parents call this company after doing some online research. Today my mom reported that a technician named David came to their house and in less than 5 minutes discovered that they did not understand how to light the pilot light. The gas logs are new to them. He helped them change the batteries to the remote and explained how to maintain the logs. Not only was he on time and polite, he didn't even charge them for the service call. I am extremely grateful and highly recommend them based on this great experience.

Feeling ripped off after paying $249 for an "inspection" and cleaning…read more I did not ask for cleaning. I wanted the blower system looked at and repaired on our gas log fireplace and wanted to know it was safe to use. They did nothing for the blower and changed nothing outside of wiping off a little soot and dusting off the logs which I did not feel were all that dirty to begin with. I told them I would clean it myself but was still charged for their "service" which was not worth my time.

I wish there was a Zero Star option. We have a gas fireplace in our house and want to replace it…read morewith a wood-burning stove. We really want a US Stove model. Only problem is that there is no chimney, so we will have to have work done - probably have the fireplace box rebuilt to accommodate the stove and stove pipe. A MONTH ago, my wife walked into this place and explained our situation. She was immediately pointed to a guy in the store and told that he was their installation contractor, and he would have to determine the work needed to install the wood burning stove. He gave my wife his phone number and said he could come out and inspect our fireplace. TWICE, I texted the guy with no replies. Then my wife texted him, and -magically - he replied. He wanted measurements of the fireplace box. We sent measurements. Then he wanted pictures. We sent pictures. Then he wanted photos of some label in the fireplace. We found no label. So, we texted back and told the guy we would PAY HIM to just come out and look at our fireplace. All communication stopped. Last week, we both went to America's Hearth and Patio. We talked to some woman in there, and told her that their installation guy has stopped talking to us, thereby halting any chance of us buying one of their stoves. She told us that he was their only installation guy, she had no way to reach out to him, and when he contacted her again (no expectation of when) she would tell him to get in touch with us. (Really?? They have no way to pick up the phone and call the guy who is installing their fireplaces??) When I told her we didn't wish to deal with him, she told us that he is the ONLY guy in the area who is "certified" to work on fireplaces. Imagine that - in all of Chattanooga, Hixon, South Pittsburg, Fort Oglethorpe, GA and Dalton GA - only ONE MAN is qualified to work on fireplaces? After a 15 minute drive up to Hixon, we visited a competitor, and what do you know? They have an IN HOUSE technician who is "certified" to work on fireplaces! In five more minutes, I had an appointment and an invoice for getting our fireplace looked at! Looks like we will be purchasing a Vermont Casting stove instead of a US STOVE brand. So, not only did we get IGNORED by America's Hearth and Patio, they made NO attempt to resolve the issue when we complained. To top it off, they LIED about having no way to contact their installer, and there being no other "certified" installers in the entire Chattanooga area. To top it off, it's been a week and we STILL have not been contacted by them. Thank God we didn't give them any of our money.
