Breach of Lease & Extremely Unprofessional Management (Unit 160) I had a signed lease with Hearth Apartments for Unit 160 starting February 3, but management failed to deliver the apartment as promised and handled the situation in an extremely unprofessional way. On January 29, just days before my move-in date, I was informed that the unit would not be available. Instead of offering a comparable replacement, they only provided two inferior street-facing units. The only unit that met my original requirements was Unit 360, but when I requested it, the manager, Romaine Phillips, claimed it was unavailable due to "internal issues." I strongly doubt this explanation because Unit 360 remained listed as available on their website during this time. In her email, she implied that meeting in person would be a "waste of time" because she said she had no solution to offer -- before any real discussion of alternatives such as delaying move-in, offering Unit 360, or placing me in another available unit temporarily. This showed no effort to solve the problem and no respect for the signed lease or the tenant's situation. When I insisted on meeting: * She arrived late due to another meeting and made me wait for a long time * She showed no urgency about the failure to deliver the unit and I felt completely uncared for * During the conversation, she repeatedly interrupted me and showed no consideration for tenant concerns Her final proposal was to delay move-in to February 7 and offer a $500 concession. This did not even cover the cost of extending my existing lease, let alone moving expenses and time lost. After that, she stopped responding over the weekend, as she had said she would be unavailable. Because of this handling, I had no choice but to find another apartment under extreme time pressure. This resulted in nearly $1,000 in direct out-of-pocket losses (temporary rent, movers, fuel), not including significant time and indirect costs. I requested reimbursement, but Hearth Apartments ignored my request and never replied. Bottom line: Tenants face serious penalties for breaking a lease, but when this property breaches a signed contract, they show zero accountability. This experience showed me that management does not respect leases or tenant well-being. Stop scamming people - THE MANAGEMENT IS A SCAM. We stayed here for 4 months. The paint is immaculate as the condition it was in when we moved in. They took our entire $700 deposit for "paint repair". Basically, they try to take as much of the deposit as they possibly can The response claims that it was communicated during the move out inspection. No it was not. There is a picture of the estimate you provided where the paint is empty. Why would you even bother to lie?? You didn't refund me out of goodwill. You did so because it is illegal under California law to charge for regular wear and tear that was not mentioned during the move out inspection. - The apartment has absolutely ZERO cell coverage! It's insane. Nobody can call me, except via whatsapp - The constant smell of smoke or marijuana coming through the vents. It's overpowering the second I enter the apartment. I have mentioned this to front desk, it did not seem like they did anything about it. We have a newborn baby and this is a health hazard - Apparently, we're also above a smoking hotspot. Nobody mentioned this to us when we rented this specific unit. - The parking is a huge inconvenience. We are parked on the 3rd and 5th floor when the apartment is on the 2nd. It is a fixed parking spot and cannot be changed. - I had mentioned to the front desk we are doing a short term lease because we needed the flexibility and I asked about going month-to-month after. If you care about your sleep and sanity, do NOT move into Hearth Apartments. We have been repeatedly woken up at 3 AM by false fire alarms--not once, not twice, but 8 times in the past half year. This is completely unacceptable. The alarm is piercingly loud, jolting everyone out of bed in the middle of the night, again and again, without any real emergency. This is not just an inconvenience--it's a serious health and safety issue. Many residents here are families with small children or elderly relatives. Constant sleep disruption causes stress, anxiety, and extreme fatigue. Worst of all, people are losing trust in the fire alarm system. If there's ever a real fire, no one will take it seriously anymore. Management keeps saying the system is "being repaired." Clearly, either nothing is being done, or it's not working. We have received no real answers, no updates, and no accountability. If this issue is not resolved soon, I will be escalating to the Santa Clara Fire Department, the city, and housing authorities. I'm honestly surprised by all the negative reviews, my family and I love living here! Our apartment has a nice view of the condo across the way, and we get amazing natural light throughout the day. It's quiet, clean, and feels like home. The pet spa is a great bonus and hey, if there's no shampoo left, just bring your own! No big deal. The gym is nice and modern, though it could definitely be larger with more equipment since it does get a bit crowded. Management is super responsive, and maintenance always handles requests in a timely manner, which we really appreciate. If I had to mention one downside, it's that the neighbors aren't the friendliest. I always make an effort to say hello or good morning, but rarely get a response. Unfortunately, you can't control other people's manners but that hasn't affected how much we enjoy living here. I have lived here for 5 year's and my experience has gotten worse with every year. If you do not want to read the entire review the two main take aways are: the rent will increase the legally aloted 5-10% every year and the complex safety / security is no existent. Goods The complex as a whole is nice. It has good amenities including two pools, two gyms, two clubhouses and more. The complex is located in a good location near two parks, gas, and groceries. Maintenance staff is friendly, helpful and quick to conduct maintenance. Bads The rent has increased every single year I have lived here without fail. Along with this there has been no increase in amenities, security, cleanliness or responsive from management. False fire alarms are a frequent problem occurring multiple times a month at all hours. Most importantly in my opinion is the security of the complex. The amount of stolen packages, vandalized and burglarized vehicles and homeless people roaming the hallways is unacceptable for a complex the charges almost $5,000 a month to live here. Further more when the complex claims to have a "secure parking garage and secure building access". In the time I have lived here I have seen multiple broken vehicle windows, a convertiblevehiclewhich had its cloth top cut open to gain accessto insidethe vehicle, litteraly 100's of stolen and opened Amazon packages and a homeless person passed out on drugs in the hallway with almost a dozen amazon packages in his possession. As i write this review my neighbors motorcycle ignition was drilled out sometime in the last 10 hours as some dirt bag attempted, but failed to steal the motorcycle. Not a terrible experience living here, but not a great one either. Pools were nice and noise was never an issue in our unit. Management is not the most responsive and mail is frequently stolen but I think these are common issues in most large apartment complexes. George (maintenance) was absolutely great. TL;DR: Severe health issues due to persistent toxic odors from the walls and being forced to stay in a freshly painted unit. Despite multiple requests, management failed to provide health-related information, resolve the issue, or honor the reimbursement they proposed. The unit has been uninhabitable for months. I had to leave the unit for several days, as advised by doctor. Management failed to provide any real solution to protect my health, such as temporary accommodation, and instead suggested solutions that could have exposed me to the toxic environment more frequently. Even after multiple requests, I didn't receive health-related information about the paint until two weeks after the incident. The paint label clearly warned of potential health risks and advised vacating the premises if symptoms like mine occurred. Had I been informed earlier, I could have avoided significant harm to my health. Despite this, management refused to reimburse me for the time the unit was uninhabitable, going back on their earlier proposal, and counterintuitively claimed that the newly painted unit was "habitable." I'm still experiencing some symptoms, and the odor remains. I am finally moving out so I'm going to tell you everything I wish I knew about before I moved in. *communal common area- they look great but they're always being taken over by children or people on video calls during the day and at night groups of 10+ meet in them and they're so loud. *printers- 50% of the time always out of ink or paper *fitness studio- it's funny they says with "tech forward equipment" cause the machines are always sometimes working. Currently it's been 5 months since the machines are connected to the Wi-Fi. The north building is always packed. The south building's machines none of them connect to the internet so no tv or YouTube. *yoga room- it's hard to do yoga in because people use it as a hallway to the gym. In one hour I get at least 5 people pass through(not including when they come back) *bike storage- even though these are secure there is a problem with someone cutting through locks and stealing bikes. Again there are cameras but management doesn't know who did it. *pet spa- sometimes it has shampoo as promised but I've never ever seen any "towel service". Plus people who live in this courtyard use the pet spa to wash their hands or their bbq stuff *every Tue/wed the building has garden people who start blowing leaves from 8am-5pm. Every single week this happens so it's hard to work from home *the park across the street has lots of events. Especially during spring/summer/fall. There's even people who rent out the bbq area and bring speakers and blast music from morning to night. It gets unbearable sometimes. You can even hear the speakers from the swimming races in the park. * pools- there's been ongoing issue with the hot tubs not being hot. There's always groups of people blasting music when it's hot so it's hard to enjoy the space especially in the north pool. The south pool is always filled with children and they bring their friends so they're always yelling and splashing the people lounging. There's also a group of moms who let their naked children(like 2yrs) hang in the hot top and they're wiping their children private parts in front of everyone. Pretty sure they let their children pee in the hot tub. *the walls and floor are so thin- I can hear my neighbors walking above and my next door neighbor I can hear when he talks also I can hear the neighbor below me cough throughout the night *if you use the air conditioner in the apartment you will hear dripping all night long even if the air conditioning isn't on *homeless problem in the area- I've been followed a 3 times by crazy homeless unstable men. There's one resident who got punched in the face but no one cared in the building. *parking- yes the parking is gated. But for years there's been issues of people's car getting broken into and having things stolen. Someone even had a car with a soft top and someone slashed it open. There's a guy who keeps entering the garage and checking peoples cars. But we have yet to know how he keeps coming back. *packages- there's a problem of peoples package getting stolen from their door and the mailroom. Sometimes the mailroom has packages cut open and the items missing. Almost monthly you'll find open Amazon packages on the street clearly being someone stole what was inside and threw the box on the floor. *security system- this is flawed because residents give their universal code to DoorDash delivery people and friends so if they ever want to come back they have 24/7 access to the building. Even after this security system has been implement packages are still getting stolen. There's been residents who keep asking management to look at the cameras for the parking garage and mail room to see who keeps stealing stuff but management has ignored it for the past few years. I don't think any of the cameras work in the building There's also a few units listed on Airbnb so definitely not secure, assuming they're giving out the building code. Residents also always prop doors open with sticks and rocks. *management- they are extremely unresponsive. I've had issues when I moved in and after the 5th day moving in I've experienced the start of them ignoring me. They pick and choose what rules to enforce and they're pretty lazy. If you need anything they will not respond to you. Management has also started to censor the internal form so there's no space to reach out to management or alert other residents of break ins or theft. Also when ordering delivery know that all the delivery people get confused on which door to deliver to. This will be a common problem if you live here. Since there are a few units listed on Airbnb. You might want to try a week or two here to see how you like it. read more

I was reached out by the new leasing manager (unfortunately I forgot her name) and Romaine; the senior neighborhood director They were concerned about the review I wrote and wanted to reach out to settle everything and leave on good terms. We finally did come to a good terms, we paid for the cleaning and paint supplies, so our bill went down to $550 I really wish this happened first, I waited over a month for them to fix the bills before I hit the post review button on yelp. My significant other and I lived in this apartment for 15 months. To preface, we both work in heath care and value clean living and have never had any charges at move out from our previous apartments over the years. Ill attach a video of our apartment on the day we moved out. Despite our apartment being in the same exact condition as when we moved in, our entire $900 security deposit was taken in addition to a $70 for miscellaneous damages that were not justified. -$200 cleaning cost -$400 carpet replacement -$180 new paint Other things of note for future tenants: -neighbors reported frequent car break ins -EV charging did not work for 8 months of our stay -I also requested ESA exemption with a note from my physician back in December 2021 but they never got back, I still was charged $65/month. This place is advertised as luxury living but our experience was bit far from that. read more

This apartment was alright in terms of the condition and location. I stayed for 14 months and when it was time to move out, they charged $200+ for cleaning service, $400 for carpet replacement even though they told me that it will only need cleaning during inspection, and $200 for paint touch-ups. I was already expecting very little to nothing at all from my deposit after reading some reviews, but to take $900 worth of deposit and still owe on top of that is just a scam. In addition to all that, even with 40-50+ units available to rent, there are only few to no parking on the street. The amenities are not working properly or broken, trash chutes always full, packages left outside of the mailroom, packages gets stolen and cars get broken into. Speaking of amenities, they have 2 EV charging stations in each garage that has not been working for 8 months now. I will not be recommending this place for anyone! read more

I just moved in the North building about a month and I have been loving it so far: great location, nice amenities and supportive staffs! I will keep updating my rating and comment with my on-going experience here but for now I think 4 star is where I would start with (4.5 star to be exact). I want to give a special shout out to George on our maintenance team - he has been super helpful during my move-in process (since there were some carpet cleaning and wall re-painting work needed to be done), and he was being very responsive and patient to understand my needs and address any concerns, also provide various solutions as well as explain them clearly to me. Don't need to mention he is super nice and very enjoyable to work with! The one star lacking is for the improvement areas like: 1) the move-out condition check/fix (prior to our move-in) could have been better so that we wouldn't need to file many service requests at the time we moved in (which would delay our unpacking if carpet/painting are involved) 2) the leasing office team is very great at picking up calls and help solve problems in-person, but could do better at responding emails 3) the floor is pretty thin especially in the living room where have wood floor. You can hear the stumping all day if you have an active neighbor live above you 4) the weed situation can be bad and I need to close all windows to avoid that strong smell once or twice a week read more

I live here for nearly half a year now, and recently, my mental state has reached a collapsing point due to the extremely unpleasant living experience. I am experiencing severe sleep deprivation due to the noise. Every morning, the noise of the upstairs children screaming and running around is deafening. Despite bringing this issue to the attention of the apartment management multiple times, it has yet to be resolved. In fact, this problem has been worsening over the past few weeks. I feel that my mental well-being has been significantly impacted, as I experience low moods every day due to the extremely poor quality of sleep. I understand that living in close proximity to others may involve some level of noise, but the continuous disturbance caused by the loud and disruptive activities of the upstairs neighbors' children is beyond tolerable limits. I hoped that the apartment management would take effective action to address this issue, but my concerns have never been addressed. Have been living here for nearly 2 years now and, while the maintenance is mostly pretty good (I find George is very helpful), the management is incompetent (but very nice which makes it difficult to criticize them). The sanitation standards of this building are so poor, the trash rooms are always overflowing which attracts cockroaches, the pool and hot tub are constantly slimy, and there is often dog poop in the hallways (not the fault of management, but still speaks to the overall cleanliness of the building). The sinks often overflow dirty water from things your neighbors may put down the drain because the system is connected in an unorthodox way and our floorboards now have water coming up from beneath them of an unknown origin. Little has been done for these issues and management is more concerned with children using sidewalk chalk than the sanitation of the building, so I really wouldn't recommend living here at this point in time. We've had a decent experience living here but this review is mainly for their move out process. I have lived in multiple Prometheus apartments and have never had such a horrible experience. They charged us 208$ for cleaning, this was after we already got professional cleaners to do the cleaning for us, when we told this to the maintenance people they said submit your receipts and they will see what can be done, I chatted with a person in the leasing office and told her we will give the receipt but she refused to entertain. Another 200$ for a blind replacement, ~200 for paint and tones of other hidden charges. She said the apartment was not left in clean condition and when I asked her to share photos of the same I never got a response, They said the windows are supposed to be cleaned from Outside, never in the time I lived there has any maintenance cleaned windows from outside; when asked she said they would do it normally but due to Covid they stopped and then they blamed us for windows not being clean from outside. If they themselves have stopped doing that during Covid why do they expect us to do it on move out? All this has been after for one year we lived there, there were multiple package thefts, EV chargers broken for close to a year and other issues they never bothered fixing. Emphasis on natural light. - Management can be nice. - AT&T Fiber (1Gb/s) Internet, fairly reliable. - Let me move into a bigger unit a few doors down once SIP started for the same price I paid and was offered for the lease renewal, though they then leased my old unit for $1K cheaper than my renewal offer. Cons: Where do I begin... - Lots of stolen packages and car break-ins. Bikes are constantly stolen out of key fob protected bike rooms inside the building's hallways. As one resident put it this past week, "For the cost of my stolen bike I could have secured the bike room." One guy had his Xbox Series X stolen right from in front of his door. I waited to go to the ER for an eye injury the day mine came in to make sure it got in safe, since they're hard to get. The package situation is wild. - Apparently, and this has been an ongoing thing (like the theft and car break-ins), the South building has vendors slamming around large metal dumpsters at like 6-7am, disrupting most people's sleep despite numerous complaints to management and the vendor. - The power bill thing: When I transferred units internally, they asked me for my power account number and told me it would take a few months possibly for it to transfer over and catch up (slow manual government process). After 3 months of receiving no bill from the power company, I followed up again and made sure it transferred. Then Hearth billed me for the previous months at MANY TIMES (almost $1K for one month) my power bill's previous and future monthly fee per month + a fee each month the account wasn't tied to this unit. Every former and future bill straight from the power company was ~$100, whereas Hearth's charges $500-700 per month, and they billed it almost all at once adding thousands to my rent suddenly right at Christmas. I called and emailed them, they said the power company sets those rates as a "vacant unit charge" since the unit was considered vacant at the time. Power company said there's no such thing and Hearth just overcharged me for whatever reason. Beware! - Some units have cheap lights, these ugly round ones that look like they were donated from Goodwill. Maintenance will also leave you with cracks in your walls of your brand new unit within days of occupancy because "That just happens" whereas when you're paying almost $4K/mo. for a ~1100sqft unit, you expect it to be nice. - Amenities are closed during COVID-19 with no credit on our rent at all, despite other Prometheus properties reducing rent. When the amenities aren't closed, some aren't maintained at all - the hot tub looked like a green science experiment most summer nights this past year, before COVID-19 there were about 3 pool chairs by the pool upstairs for whatever reason. - I paid $3.7K/mo. for a 1br1ba 4th (top) floor unit in the North building, which of the two buildings is the one to be in apparently (South is treated not as nice). After Shelter In Place they sent me a renewal offer at the same price. So I looked around and they let me actually move into a bigger unit a few doors down, for the same price (this was actually awesome!) But then I noticed my old unit was given to a new resident at $2.7K/mo, which I probably would've been happy with. Others have noticed the same. Shady lease price strategies. - Since COVID-19, the park right across the street (Central Park) hasn't been maintained as well by the city (due to lack of events?), and so it's overrun by ducks (and poop), and homeless people (more poop). If I wanted that kind of scenery I'd just move to San Francisco. But the crime is starting to inch up in the area more now too, which doesn't feel like a coincidence. There's also a bus stop right in front of the buildings. - When I moved internally, it was like most move-out experiences I've had and I received my whole deposit back no problem (I take care of apartments I rent). This time now that I'm upgrading and moving out, they basically told me cleaning was mandatory and nothing I could do would avoid it, so they'll be charging me for everything. Another shady business practice - I've rented lots of apartments and always get my full deposit back without issue until now. Lots of complaints, but overall I was fairly happy here for the most part. Management tries to at least follow up with the numerous daily complaints on the internal forum and tries to accommodate, and it feels like the corporate overlords might be to blame for some of these things. I found a property up the road that waives deposits for my employer's employees leasing there, and is in a better maintained area than Hearth with Central park the way it is these days. Otherwise, in all honesty this is still one of the nicer apartments in the South Bay, mainly due to the interiors (large windows!) I lived there for two years and recently moved out. I do not recommend this apartment complex for many reasons. First, my experience and several pain points that led to the 1 star review: 1. The leasing team really need to make a better effort to show they actually care instead of just wanting to make money. I do not want to mention any names but one of the leasing agent always talks with an attitude and does not answer questions or go extra miles as soon as you sign the lease. During the two years, they also stickered my car with a nasty sticker that I had to pay to have removed. I know I parked in the guest parking spot overnight (because the gate was broken see below and I had to load groceries), which is wrong. But they could have called me to move it. The fact that they did not even bother and chose to sticker my car (purely to cause me trouble) is just not something that I call friendliness, let alone "good service". 2. Many things are unreasonably priced and makes you feel they are ripping you off at every opportunity. For example, a spare key cost $200, non-refundable (this might be boarder-line illegal but I was so glad that I moved out so I didn't even bother fighting). A lost garage magnetic strip will cost you $75 (pretty sure it's about $1 of cost). If you forget your key outside and ask you to unlock your door outside of their business hour, they will gladly bill you for $75. A lot of this just sounds like hidden fees and make people dislike their service. 3. They suck at fixing infrastructures. The gate at the south building remained broken for about a year cumulatively during my two year living there. I guess they have no defined liability for that unless my car is stolen. Again, this is another example of how they strive to do absolutely the minimum and does not care about the tenets. There is another incident where I suspected the manager tried to kick me out of the apartment right after I renewed the lease for the first year. But that is just a suspicion and I couldn't find any evidence or understand why. So I won't go into details here. If you run into same problem with them, feel free to reach out to me. I looked up a lot about landlord-tenet laws in California to fight this but luckily I didn't have to use any of that. Lists of smaller complaints: - Weed smoking is still a problem. They can't control it. - It seemed theft is also common. I've never experienced myself. But I heard about them from friends at this community. - Parking space assignments. Fight for a better spot if you can spare a little time. Because otherwise they will really assign the worst space to those who don't speak up. - Cell reception issue was real. I had no reception for almost two years. Used T-Mobile and Project Fi. Finally just a note to consolidate my points, I talked to one of their former employees before I moved out and she was also just quitting. She said he hated working there because she didn't even personally believe those rules they go by and the way they were asked to treat people. Just ask how long the "neighborhood ambassadors" worked there. You'll see about a 100% refresh rate year-to-year. I believe it is apartment management companies like these that we need stricter landlord-renter laws in California. I agree with many reviewers before me: "DO NOT let their pretty appearance persuade you into signing a lease with this neighborhood nightmare." read more

I want to give a special shout out to George Perez, one of the maintenance workers. He is friendly, and felt like part of the family. He helped us so much while we lived at hearth for the past 2 years. He went above and beyond for us every single time, and he looked out for us as well. He is definitely the absolute best part about living in this apartment complex. Hearth is one of the nicer apartment complexes. Management has maybe gone down since we've been here but not too bad. Rent is quite expensive, but it is in the whole area. read more

I highly recommend the Hearth Apartment complex in Santa Clara. I very much enjoyed my 2yr time spent in Hearth Place. The apartments and the amenities are beautifully well maintained, and the appliances & gym equipment are up to date. The views from the rooftop pool, bbq area and gym were amazing! You would think you're in resort. My family and friends always complements me how on beautiful my apartment complex every time they come to visit me. The staff were wonderful and readily there to assist me. I loved the neighborhood, safe access to the park, eatery and shopping center. I just wanted to give a Five-Start review for Gorge from maintenance team. He is very kind and always willing to help with a very nice and patient attitude. He sent me the key at weekends when I was occasionally locked my self out, my kitchen was clogged a few days ago, he was trying to help me onsite, but due to the COVID19, I was trying to fix it by myself. Then he gave me a super great phone support, told me every single steps even something Idk by facetime!! And he picked up the call al most 24*7 (sorry my bad.. due to the emergency). He is a great maintenance guy with professional knowledge, friendly personality, and warm welcoming wellness to help! No worries for anything, we've been covered by Gorge!! **Updated Review** Moving out to relocate closer to work and cut down commute time #bayareaproblems ‍ Because Prometheus will allow you to transfer your lease, I've toured nearly every Prometheus property in the bay over the last month or so and can definitively say Hearth is one of the most well appointed properties in the Prometheus portfolio. Pro- apartment finishes are modern and sleek, maintenance is responsive when issues arise (if George shows up at your door, you're in great hands), and lastly, I will miss this massive bathroom with deep tub for soaking. Cons- as others have mentioned, the fire alarms can sound off at unexpected times for upwards of 45mins. If you have small children or pets, this can be distressing. Tips- if you have an electric vehicle, try and move into a north building unit. I've had better luck finding an open charging station at convenient times in the north garage. Suggested improvements- work with the the city of Santa Clara to have parking space lines painted along the parameter of both buildings to optimize parking. All in all, if you're looking for a place in Santa Clara and value amenities (ie rooftop pool and bbq) Hearth is a place you'd be happy to call home. read more

Had an issue with the in-unit washer and put in a service request. Rafael came over and was able to have it fixed quickly; turned out it was some stray objects blocking the pumps. Rafael had to pull out the washer, with the dryer stacked on top of it, in order to access the back panel. He did all this while following the Covid protocols properly. He even refused my help to pull out the unit because of the protocols, even though the washer and dryer were quite heavy. I have been living here for almost a year now, and Hearth Apartments management team overall is great. They are very responsive to calls and service requests, and the staff is always friendly and polite. The leasing process was also quite pleasant, with the agents being very helpful. read more

I been living here for over two years and recently move out, the apartment maintenance team is awesome here. However, I give two star because the billing system is so suck and the leasing team never carry any responsibility. We got two time that our check been returned by Hearth with no problem at all on our side(we called bank to confirm). Then, Hearth will charge us a extra $80 for return check fee. When we go argue for that fee they will always push the responsibility to bank side and kick us to the bank. Be aware of the leasing team. To be continue, I'll change to five start until they solve the return check problem. STORY CONTINUE 6/7/2018 I was sitting in my car in front of the leasing office to writing my experience on YELP. After I post this review, the manager immediately walk to my car and said she will take care all the fees. She told me YELP review is important for her's job and she is trying to help me, I don't need to go to deal with bank anymore, she will just refund me. I don't know why she don't do that early when I trying to talk her nicely. However, I will change to 4 start at least the problem is been solved. read more

Just want to update this review. The community director reached out to me after I posted on Yelp ( only when I made the post) and offered solutions. However, she never followed up. Yes, she promised but never do it... even after several attempts I made. Recently the upstairs neighbor became very disturbing again, making loud and heavy footsteps in the middle of the night or early morning ( it sounded like they stomped around instead of walking). I reported to the community office and again they never followed up. I made multiple friendly pinged and expressed how bad it affected me. To anyone who is considering this apartment, please rethink and find other places. I can't wait for my lease to end. It's super terrible experience and the community management doesn't seem to care to improve it. read more

It was so hard for us to say goodbye to Hearth! We lived here for the past two years and we love everything about this place. The amazing team makes this place a true home for us, they are responsive, friendly and helpful across the board, especially Romaine and George, who could basically remember everything and makes us feel like we are well taken care of as a dear friend or even family. *The things we love the most: -The rooftop views are breathtaking! Probably the best view in the city. -Each section of the multiple clubrooms affords your own privacy even when other members of the community are around too. Always a good place to invite friends over. -24-hour gym. Never got too occupied and it's more joyful with the rooftop view! If I could give Hearth a zero star rating, I would. This is the worst community I have ever lived in by far. DO NOT let their pretty appearance persuade you into signing a lease with this neighborhood nightmare. DON'T fall for their upfront incentives. They use this as bait and it will have you reeling in agony for the duration of your lease after you see through the facade. Have an issue? Expect to wait years until dozens of other neighbors bring forward the same issues. Only then will you be taken seriously. But only on days someone feels like following up. Anthony Weiner has a stronger will to follow through with his commitments than the staff at Hearth. Speaking of which, the office staff is less responsive than a snail in an ice cream truck. Receive a package signed by the office? Well, be prepared to wait until the return policy expires, because unless you follow up with them, don't expect them to drop it off at your door or in one of the convenient lockers that are located above their office. Half of this community is sub leased for corporate housing. These temporary residence appear to be exempt from community rules. Club Intern is open way past 10 for these out of towners. By the way, before you sign any lease, know that they WILL retain your full deposit for "cleaning and painting" fees. We were recently charged $330 for our move out condition. Want to see how we left the unit? Check out our photos. We left it better than when we moved in where we had to clean up construction dust in the cabinets, remove the protective wrap in the oven and fridge, and reattach trim that was falling off. If you like paper thin walls and floors, LOUD NOISES (Brick Tamland lives here), incompetent management, along side broken garage gates, community theft, and a gym that is restocked with towels once a month, then Hearth is absolutely the place for you. If you expect a nice stay at Hearth, you're better off waiting for Musk to finish his rockets to Mars. The red planet is about the only place I'll ever find a reprieve after living at Hearth. read more
