Aluminum diamond plating. Familiar with it? It's usually found as liner in garages, on some pick-up trucks and sometimes as wall decor in specific types of businesses. Here, it is used throughout the inside and exterior of this Gentleman's club.
On the exterior it makes sense when seeing these "busts" of a motorcycle and car, which were split down the middle and hoisted / affixed onto the side of the building. This display is highlighted in glowing neon with images of women (probably dancers) proudly displayed. Not many would notice the images at first and those driving past might assume it could be a club of some kind. At night, when the neon is lit, no doubt what sort of place you've happened on.
After parking near the rear and starting my walk to the door. Oddly, I could distinctly hear almost full conversations that were occurring indoors. Guessing, these are convos from the private rooms. I don't think this building was constructed like most. Guessing (?) it was built in such a way that would allow walls to be moved easily, in the event they wanted to expand the footage of the club. With all the plating used everywhere that could be why sound is traveling easily as opposed to bouncing back into the club. (Most clubs are made of concrete. Concrete is a great sound barrier because it stops most and some will bounce back. Since this building utilizes plating, I'd wager this is why their music isn't pounding. They realize sounds carry outside. (Note: The club sits within a neighborhood. There are homes within a stones' throw of the entrance.)
Although Yelp hasn't any reviews, I found lots of useful tips via Facebook / Google reviews and Stripclublist.net (Yes, there is actually a strip club list for the fifty states. It's not a useful tool for reviews but it is updated and you'll find out about new and old clubs. The general info is useful. Corrected addresses, estimated cover and dance charges. The reviews can be littered with a lot of catty BS from dancers, jaded ex-employees or customers with an axe to grind about staff / post anonymous love notes to fav'd entertainers. )
One useful tip was to arrive after 10 pm and avoid cover charge. I tend to "roll out" late as a given. Heading to a Gentleman's club early is never great. And many tipsters had shared the same thoughts.
When I arrived by Midnight, there was no cover. Nor did the bouncer care to check my ID. I was dressed to impress just in case there was any BS at the door. A sign outside noted that "suitable attire" was necessary. Though I'll tell you there were a couple dudes in basketball shorts and slip-on sandals.
Judging from photos online and the exterior scene of the club I had high expectations. But upon entrance those fell flat! I'm not keen on clubs which place stages on ground level. These have entertainers dancing at a lower point than a customer's view. If a dancer gets down on the "stage" this puts her below eye-level of a patron. So, we would be looking down at them. Add to that a patron standing at one edge with singles held in front of their crotch like an imaginary penis. Ugh..
I dig clubs that put entertainers on display. With a stage that is above eye-level. Therefore creating an atmosphere that the show is all about the entertainer on a high stage. Regardless of the dancer's height and whether they perform or pole-dance, their routine is given more attention and adds to the excitement. The club is one floor only and there isn't much height clearance, which is why the stage is low.
Raw deets. Cover can be $2-5 dollars. That was per word-of-mouth. Dances are $20/ song and this is a topless club. There are a couple areas where dances are performed. They also offer "champagne" type rooms which carry a higher cost. Bottles start at $100, with popular brands costing $150 - $250 which is affordable. Still lower in comparison to city pricing whether purchasing bottles or increments of time with your favorite entertainer.
In the hour I was there, I did not see very many dancers hit the stage. It seemed as though dancers were visiting tables. Which left many patrons sitting lonely for a good while. Dances on stage were nothing more than a woman parading from one end to the other. I did not see pole-dancing skill present.
I had decided to have a drink before jetting. Since I sat at the bar near bright lights, I was propositioned immediately. For dances of course. Since I didn't accept off the bat, she asked if I'd buy rounds of shots! I obliged for a few, having a drink with someone is better than whiling away time at a strip club doing & seeing nothing.
At swanky clubs located on the outskirts of town, dances can be a bit more risque*. If that's something you're seeking. As far as beauty goes.. some were cute and others may have recently delivered. See other review sites which go into great detail in this regard.
