Went to this class for work, knew it was going to start off bad when the instructor was late. I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt to the assistant, he tried his best, however he was extremely difficult to understand (heavy African accent) and he spoke a million words a minute. A good 30 minutes was wasted listening to his personal stories and background. 4 of us total in class, me and my co-worker, the instructor's nursing school friend and a 4th woman who he deemed competent enough for him to sign her off and dismiss her within the 1st 20 minutes! Nothing was explained to us as far as technique. We were basically asked what we would do in various scenarios. Luckily we had prior knowledge and common sense. At one point the instructor left us alone in the room for a good 30 minutes and we even left to walk around the building searching for him. I was very disappointed in the lack of training we received. His best advice was to yell for help if in a situation where someone needed EMS. I was waiting for someone with a hidden camera to jump out and tell us it was all a joke, but unfortunately it was real. I give this course a 3 out of 10. We have multiple coworkers yet to go through CPR training (I was part of the guinea pig group), but I will definitely not allow any one else that I work with to go through with this particular class. I hope they can rectify these issues going forward.
