They don't give you the "college readiness" they boast about, and many end up not knowing anything in college. Many are found being overlooked and disrespected by the school at every turn, ruining their confidence. The teachers give out free A's, and you have to put in absolutely no effort for a good grade, and it ends up being extremely hard when college comes around, because you've learned no material and no work ethic. In addition, Allen makes some horrible staff choices, and even when called out by all students and many parents, they refuse to do anything about it and blame it on the students. They put on a perfect act, but once you go to the school, it shuts off, and they only care about money. Allen Academy ruined high school for me and I wouldn't recommend it for any middle/high school students.

This school isn't even the closest middle school to our house. We drive right past Rayburn to come to this dump. I've had little parent/teacher communication all year. The one time I did email the principal about an issue I never heard back from him, he just passed it on to someone else. Ive only called the school a handful of times but when I have it has taken a second phone call to get an answer from someone. I went into the front office to ask a question yesterday and the secretary treated me like I was wasting her time. I worked as a school secretary for 5 years and I never treated people like that. This is our first year and I never had these issues at our previous school. I am so glad we are moving to the high school next year.

It's definitely worth going here rather than a boarding school, because the value can't be beat. Pros: great people, location to university to take challenging classes, teachers that care about students, clubs, music & sports Cons: Not enough funding for academic endeavors. It's hard to succeed in academic extracurriculars without funding, but Consol performs well anyways. The talent and hard work ethic of the students is amazing. You won't be disappointed here.

I have had both of my kids transfer here and they have excelled accordingly. This kids from this school are also great kids. The teacher and administrators here care and have the best interest of these kids at heart. This school is older and could use some updates. Other then this I think this is a great school. I have one more child and will have him here when the time comes also. The teachers here they seem as if they want to come to school everyday and that is always great. I have seen athrletic well educated kids come from this school.

Great school all the teachers are nice and the school is always protected by officers and all the…read morekids are nice and funny and friendly and the cafeteria is clean and the food is always healthy and good and even if I don't like something at the cafeteria there is a second side that has something I like and after I finish eating there is fosse ball and ping pong to play with until lunch is over and at the class rooms if I fail a test I can do the same test again for a better score so the grade can be up and I can be eligible for sports and when you play a sport you get a card to let you in every district match for free for the rest of the school year.
