I was told to sign off on a blank electronic pad for an "annual patient update" so I could get a…read morecancer test - w/o being told what was in a form that turned out to be 5 pages long (in Sept. 2025) and that stated the patient would "agree to all tests and all treatments for myself and all my dependents" into perpetuity. When asked if I could please just sign off on the cancer test, they said no -- I had to sign off on everything in the (initially undisclosed) document. So I was refused the cancer test. When I asked why I couldn't just sign off on my doctor-ordered test w/o agreeing to all of the above, I was told, "Because that's what the Legal Dept. wants now." So no more "patient-centered" care - but rather "profit-centered" care. Hence - beware. Don't sign blank electronic pads - get the hard copy and read every single line.

Lahey Danvers is located in a very popular area, near the Liberty Tree Mall. When you walk in…read moreDanvers Lahey (DL), you are greeted with pleasant receptionts, behind a piece of plastic, for confidentiality reasons. Anyway, everyone up front is really nice. The only problem with DL is that, on most occasions, there will be a wait - especially for Dr. Pikus! I don't know if he's a popular doc, or something, but he's always booked. His nurse is quite a pleasure to speak to when I'm having an issue. She evaluates my issue, discusses it with Dr. Pikus and he'll usually tell her what to say. Although there have been times when she's given me her own remedies and ideas, that have worked of course. I've been seeing Dr. Pikus for several years now and I couldn't be seeing a better doctor!

BUT when I followed up with Dr. Pikus regarding some of the side-effects of the surgery he did not seem to know what to tell me... what he did tell me was to research it on line and try to connect with people who have had the same problems! I had more than a few appointments with Dr. Pikus since the surgery and he still has not addressed the issues. I went to two specialist on my own for my concerns and they ordered tests. In another instance a specialist ordered a prescription for me and so happened I had an appt. w/ DrPikus just after and he said I didn't need that prescription... then I went yet to another Dr. who re-ordered the first Dr.'s prescription saying he did not know why Dr. Pikus said I did not need it. I have lost my confidence in Dr. Pikus.

I had my first visit here with Dr. Ratushny and so far am very pleased. His office was able to see…read moreme a full 6 weeks sooner than my local dermatologist my PCP initially referred me to. I was seen on time, and Dr. Ratushny is the most thorough doctor I have ever encountered. After a full skin check, he counseled me on a number of issues, from acne to eczema to sunscreen, and had a full plan or reason why no treatment was needed for each concern. He took a biopsy of my eczema on a Tuesday, and his office called with results on Friday, making small adjustments to the treatment plan I was given until I'm seen for a follow-up appointment. MA Dermatology Associates also has an online patient portal where I was able to log in and review the notes and photos taken at my visit. He answered all of my questions realistically and without making me feel like any of them were silly, and I feel very confident in Dr. Ratushny's care.

I was prescribed a minoxidil topical solution from this office, and it caused a significant…read moreallergic reaction on my scalp. Despite this, both the dermatologist and the medical assistants insisted that the reaction could not have been caused by the product and advised me to resume using it once the irritation cleared. I followed their instructions, and as soon as I reapplied the solution, my scalp broke out in the exact same reaction the very next day. Even after experiencing two identical reactions within four weeks--each occurring immediately after using the topical--everyone I spoke with continued to dismiss the obvious connection and suggested the cause was something else I was doing. It is extremely clear that the reaction was caused by the product they prescribed, yet throughout every conversation, the staff didn't to acknowledge this possibility. The unwillingness to take my concerns seriously was very frustrating.
