Based on my full experience, I have updated my previous review…read more On 6/9/2026, I received a phone call from Arizona Dermatology Specialists and spoke with a medical assistant by the Name of Shannon, who informed me that my biopsy results were positive for melanoma. During the call, I was told there was no need for immediate follow-up because the biopsy margins were clear and that I should simply keep my annual follow-up appointment scheduled at a year. Because I have experience working in pathology, I requested a copy of my records and sought a second opinion. After reviewing the pathology report, I learned that the results did not indicate a positive melanoma diagnosis, as I had been told over the phone by Shannon. Naturally, receiving news that you have cancer is extremely serious and emotionally impactful. Learning afterward that the information provided to me was inaccurate was both upsetting and concerning. I contacted the office manager to discuss what had occurred, but at the time, no explanation could be provided beyond a commitment to follow up internally. My concern is not only the incorrect information I received, but also the process by which such significant results were communicated. Patients rely on medical providers to accurately explain test results, especially when those results involve the possibility of cancer. As a result of this experience, I have decided to cancel my follow-up appointment and seek future care elsewhere. I hope the office reviews its procedures to help prevent similar situations from happening to other patients.

It looks like I will have to call them again.

I will say this THE DOCTOR AND HIS NURSE WERE AMAZING!…read more I am updating this review from 2-4 stars as the office manager did call and apologize for her behavior and she did call my insurance and get the info that was needed for billing. I felt much better and more at peace with the experience and I have paid the appropriate amount and if you check in here - you do get a free gift so that was very fun! I love when that happens - always a nice little surprise. Here is why 2 stars! An employee walked in - girl at front desk "I'm here aren't I" My husband and I looked at each other - like what kind of place is this that the employee would be so openly miserable. Then people were walking in and out saying how they didn't want to open his car door because he was asleep. Come to find out, that's the pathologist who would be looking at sample. Regardless of why he was asleep in his car at 7am is none of my business and honestly, I don't want to hear that an employee came from LA and he is sleeping in his car. They have a new policy that you must have a card on file and you must pay your deductible at time of service. No one mentioned that to me - glad I had my credit card on me. I mentioned to the front desk that I believe my insurance prefix will change as we picked a new plan during open enrollment. She said, I will speak to my manger and call you once we know what to do. Okay fine. I call my insurance for something completely unrelated and mention todays visit. BCBS rep said "just have them call us and we will tell them what you are covered for on the new plan" Okay sounds simple enough Well, I call thinking I'm helping out and the business manager, Dahlia, huffs and puffs and tells me this is a HUGE issue and that I should have told them before I came in. I said "they said all you have to do is call them and they will give you the info" She said rudely "you just had very big surgery ( I was there 20 minutes as they scraped a needle head worth of what looked like a freckle on my face) and this will mess up billing". I said "okay, if you guys don't want to call, I guess we will deal with the mess when you want to get paid" she said "yep, guess so" JUST RUDE. I called back to get her name and told her I thought she was a bit rough - her response "I'm the office manager" I said "okay just needed your name for my message to the business. She replies "okay sounds good" Not a care in the world. Now I know why the guy came in all grumpy / if that's the culture and temperature in that office Again, surgeon, nurse and gal who helped me on the way out were great.
