WORSE EXPIRIENCE EVER!!! This has been the most frustrating experience with a hearing aid company. I showed up to an appointment and I had taken time off of work and when I get there, they tell me I needed to bring my previous hearing aids. Why not say that when we made the appointment! Now, MONTHS later I call to pick up the "new" hearing aids and they tell me IDK what you're talking about and then they said sent back the new hearing aids because we didn't contact them within 30 days. But they didn't call US to follow up with us either. Ellen is never there, and Maria is limited as to what she can do when Ellen isn't there. Then her excuse as to why they didn't follow up with me is because they were blind sighted when the company was bought out and they were overwhelmed with that. I never write reviews, but they charged my mother's health insurance, and she can't use the original hearing aids and now we can't even get the second one they had made for us because they supposedly returned it. It's been a nightmare. I asked them what else I can do, Maria's answer is IDK what you want me to say... and yes, I was rude because this is frustrating. I am always NICE to them and understanding, but I can't believe they would do this to a person who depends on these hearing aids now for the rest of her life! Do better!! We're happy that in such a difficult time in our lives we met great people like Ellen and Philip. I've been really sensitive to noise while trying to sleep ever since sharing a room with my little sister who had a serious snoring issue. Throughout my childhood, college years, and into adult life I have always worn some type of earplug when I sleep.. always disposable, always a little gross. I am really excited about my new custom sleeping earplugs from Hearing Aid Station, even if that sounds silly. They feel so much better, are clean and easy to care for, and don't have the risk of getting stuck in my ear canal the way those waxy plugs can. My fathers hearing has been on the decline due to age. He recently inherited a set of Starkey hearing aids and was ecstatic about the possibility of hearing clearly again but didn't know where to start. My father has not been using his hearing Aid for one year. I set up an appointment to check his hearing aid thinking, it might needs to adjust. Ellen Nathan took us and check my father hearing aid. She examined the hearing aid and she was so honest. She put the part that was missing and modify the part for my father who is handicapped on one arm. She asked me to check if the hearing aid still has warranty. She also recommend some insurance that might help for hearing aid since Medicare is not covered. I was so impressed how she took a time to explain and details. Although we waited about 30 minutes, I was fine. She really pay attention one customer at a time. Our previous audiologist gave us hearing aid that is pretty expansive and not practical. He promise for following up and guaranteed which he wasn't able to deliver. My dad's independent living community was in pandemic lockdown, and of course, both his hearing aids decided to stop working. And, of course, his regular hearing aid outlet had closed down, furloughing all its employees, and leaving us with no access to his records. What to do? They then overnighted them to the manufacturer, who replaced them with new ones that arrived promptly with a new charger. Oh... if only I could give 6 stars. I love the Hearing Aid Station. I've been wearing hearing aids since I was three years old, about 30 years now, so I know what I do and don't like. Finding Ellen was a godsend because she knows her stuff! She not only recommend the perfect hearing aids for me, she also knew exactly what I meant when trying to explain the things I didn't like when we had a 2 week follow up. She was able to fix the bugs in less than 10 minutes. My hearing loss is one of the trickier ones and they knew exactly what would work for me. The rest of the day I was smiling ear to ear (pun intended) because I was hearing the world in a new and better way. It has been 3 months now without any issues. This place is great. My dad acme for a visit and his hearing aid broke. He couldn't hear a thing and I felt terribly for him. Luckily, I found the Hearing Aid Station through Yelp and called. The gentlemen who answered talked me through the problem and gave me an appointment for 2 hours later. We showed up 1/2 hour early and they were able to see us very quickly. Miraculous!!! The only word for Ellen and Phillip!! My 16 year old daughter was suddenly diagnosed with Reverse Slope Hearing Loss in December of 2015. She used to hear normally. We have been thru 3 pairs of ridiculously expensive hearing aids (over $6K) and she still only heard garbled sounds. Conversations for her were impossible! It has been so frustrating & disappointing. But today we drove nearly 2 hours from Santa Barbara to See Ellen and she reprogrammed her current pair to make them clear as a bell. My daughter is ecstatic! These guys are completely amazing. My 71 yr old father was visiting from Seattle when one of his hearing aids went out. Even though he was a military guy for most his life and is not inclined to complain my sister and I insisted that he get it checked out during his visit rather than waiting until he returned to Washington. We found this place through the recommendation of the manufacturer-Unitron. These guys went above and beyond to accommodate us the same day. Upon checking out the hearing aid they realized that not only was the receiver broken but the original audiologist tuned the aid to "non-optimal" settings. They spent an hour with him in the sound booth collecting a hearing base line and adjusting the settings and now he can hear better than ever. They also didn't want to charge him anything as he was a veteran and the parts were covered under warranty. I highly recommend this office! I called as a potential new patient to inquire if they took my particular insurance. Ellen called me back within a short period of time and told me that their office was not in-network for my particular insurance provider. Thus my insurance would pay 50% (vs. 80% in network). I was so impressed and appreciative that Ellen took the time to call my insurance, and called me back so quickly. She was also extremely helpful during our telephone conversation. I really liked her right away. I told her the short version of my story and she recommend two different possible hearing aids that she liked. I sadly have an appointment at another provider that is in my network, since this could save me a lot of money.
