We're happy that in such a difficult time in our lives we met great people like Ellen and Philip. Both of them are using hearing aids that's why they treat their clients with sympathy and understanding. Before knowing them, we had a bad experience with other audiologists which made my stepdad (Valeriy) wait for months to get his hearing aids. WORSE EXPIRIENCE EVER!!! This has been the most frustrating experience with a hearing aid company. I showed up to an appointment and I had taken time off of work and when I get there, they tell me I needed to bring my previous hearing aids. Why not say that when we made the appointment! Now, MONTHS later I call to pick up the "new" hearing aids and they tell me IDK what you're talking about and then they said sent back the new hearing aids because we didn't contact them within 30 days. But they didn't call US to follow up with us either. Ellen is never there, and Maria is limited as to what she can do when Ellen isn't there. Then her excuse as to why they didn't follow up with me is because they were blind sighted when the company was bought out and they were overwhelmed with that. I never write reviews, but they charged my mother's health insurance, and she can't use the original hearing aids and now we can't even get the second one they had made for us because they supposedly returned it. It's been a nightmare. I asked them what else I can do, Maria's answer is IDK what you want me to say... and yes, I was rude because this is frustrating. I am always NICE to them and understanding, but I can't believe they would do this to a person who depends on these hearing aids now for the rest of her life! Do better!! I've been really sensitive to noise while trying to sleep ever since sharing a room with my little sister who had a serious snoring issue. Throughout my childhood, college years, and into adult life I have always worn some type of earplug when I sleep.. always disposable, always a little gross. I am really excited about my new custom sleeping earplugs from Hearing Aid Station, even if that sounds silly. They feel so much better, are clean and easy to care for, and don't have the risk of getting stuck in my ear canal the way those waxy plugs can. They fit perfectly and are comfortable as far as earplugs go. Ellen was so sweet and very helpful during the process of getting the plugs made. My dad's independent living community was in pandemic lockdown, and of course, both his hearing aids decided to stop working. And, of course, his regular hearing aid outlet had closed down, furloughing all its employees, and leaving us with no access to his records. What to do? We cold called Philip and Ellen at Hearing Station. What a find! They helped us assess the problem with the hearing aids, and discern they were still under warranty(!). They then overnighted them to the manufacturer, who replaced them with new ones that arrived promptly with a new charger. Oh... if only I could give 6 stars. I love the Hearing Aid Station. I've been wearing hearing aids since I was three years old, about 30 years now, so I know what I do and don't like. Finding Ellen was a godsend because she knows her stuff! She not only recommend the perfect hearing aids for me, she also knew exactly what I meant when trying to explain the things I didn't like when we had a 2 week follow up. She was able to fix the bugs in less than 10 minutes. My hearing loss is one of the trickier ones and they knew exactly what would work for me. The rest of the day I was smiling ear to ear (pun intended) because I was hearing the world in a new and better way. It has been 3 months now without any issues. These guys are completely amazing. My 71 yr old father was visiting from Seattle when one of his hearing aids went out. Even though he was a military guy for most his life and is not inclined to complain my sister and I insisted that he get it checked out during his visit rather than waiting until he returned to Washington. We found this place through the recommendation of the manufacturer-Unitron. These guys went above and beyond to accommodate us the same day. Upon checking out the hearing aid they realized that not only was the receiver broken but the original audiologist tuned the aid to "non-optimal" settings. They spent an hour with him in the sound booth collecting a hearing base line and adjusting the settings and now he can hear better than ever. They also didn't want to charge him anything as he was a veteran and the parts were covered under warranty. These folks are so nice and I strongly recommend you take your loved ones here for their hearing aid needs. read more

Miraculous!!! The only word for Ellen and Phillip!! My 16 year old daughter was suddenly diagnosed with Reverse Slope Hearing Loss in December of 2015. She used to hear normally. We have been thru 3 pairs of ridiculously expensive hearing aids (over $6K) and she still only heard garbled sounds. Conversations for her were impossible! It has been so frustrating & disappointing. But today we drove nearly 2 hours from Santa Barbara to See Ellen and she reprogrammed her current pair to make them clear as a bell. My daughter is ecstatic! This place is great. My dad acme for a visit and his hearing aid broke. He couldn't hear a thing and I felt terribly for him. Luckily, I found the Hearing Aid Station through Yelp and called. The gentlemen who answered talked me through the problem and gave me an appointment for 2 hours later. We showed up 1/2 hour early and they were able to see us very quickly. I highly recommend this office! I called as a potential new patient to inquire if they took my particular insurance. Ellen called me back within a short period of time and told me that their office was not in-network for my particular insurance provider. Thus my insurance would pay 50% (vs. 80% in network). I was so impressed and appreciative that Ellen took the time to call my insurance, and called me back so quickly. She was also extremely helpful during our telephone conversation. I really liked her right away. I told her the short version of my story and she recommend two different possible hearing aids that she liked. I sadly have an appointment at another provider that is in my network, since this could save me a lot of money. Ellen is a gem!! My mom needed to get a new hearing aid. We have tried everywhere, including the House Ear Institute and she just couldn't (a) someone caring; and (b) a decent hearing aid provided through MediCare/Med-CAL. A neighbor recommend Ellen and therefore, I made the appointment. From the beginning, Ellen was very kind, caring and compassionate with my mom. Even though Kaiser took a hearing test, Ellen took her own hearing test. Based on my mom's profound hearing loss, she recommend a brand that she felt would be a good match for my mom. Now, keep in mind - hearing aids are very different from each other. And it's not like getting new pair glasses. Each one is different and because of that, it's important to have an Hearing Aid Specialist who is familiar with the various brands out there. They need to know which brands work best for each specific person. No one person has the same hearing loss issues. And while you can try out a hearing aid for 30 days and then decide if you want to keep it, when you are dealing with insurance, especially Medicare/Med-CAL, you really don't have their act together, you really don't want to mess around with going back/forth. That being said, the brand my mom got made such a difference for her, even though she doesn't realize it. And it made it a difference for quality of life. Ellen allowed my mom to come back and get adjustments and was always kind and accommodating. She even helped my mom get her old analog hearing aid fixed, by sending out to a company that still deals with analog hearing aids. I can't recommend Ellen enough and if you are at all hesitant about getting a hearing aid, please see Ellen. She will spend the time with you and give you an honest assessment of what should work best for you. She will help save your hearing and improve your quality of life.
