I love this cafe. The southern end of Holloway Road has some real eating gems and this is one of…read morethem. I've stopped for lunch a few times and sampled very good quiche, an excellent falafel platter with shredded beetroot inside and today's lunch special: a quesadilla with guacamole, salsa and a poached egg. Mmm. The coffee is good, staff are super efficient and friendly and food comes quickly and is made with care and attention. Prices are reasonable. The cafe is compact, clean and airy so top scores all round. Oh and it's vegetarian and vegan.

Holloway Road is becoming a hot spot…read more The inevitable spillover from nearby Upper Street means that the Guardian-reading denizens of Islington are starting to mill around the lower section of Holloway Road a lot more than they used to. Although there are all the usual mixed feelings about gentrification, I can't say I'm not excited about the current influx of posh cafes and coffee shops just outside my door. EZ & Moss is a delightful new addition, serving up vegetarian & vegan fare (fantastic brunch!), great coffee and wonderful baked goods in an atmosphere that isn't "too" hipster - nowhere near the level of extreme hipster you'd find a few miles east. (Part of the reason I love Islington -- cool, but not too cool). The *only* reason it loses a star is because of the lack of meat on the menu -- I'm an unapologetic carnivore who is partial to a bit of bacon with my weekend brunch. Islingtonites, check this new spot out! PS - Unlike nearby Vagabond N7, these guys take card payment, hurrah!

We had the vegan, gluten free: - pecan pie, warmed and served with a scoop of vanilla ice scream - peanut butter chocolate chip cookie - berry jam cake - oatmeal chocolate chip cookie Our favourite was the pie. It was super delicious and we were happy to get a crust piece. The crust was not your average tan-coloured flaky floury pie crust but more like a cookie/graham cracker crust. Delightful. I really enjoyed the ice scream on top (I'm lactose intolerant, so getting to savour ice s/cream is a very special treat for me.) My friend thought the ice scream was a bit too cloyingly sweet though. We liked the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie but it had a strange texture. Almost like raw cookie dough. This may be due to its gluten free ingredients. We enjoyed the taste. But wished it was a little crispier. The berry jam cake was, for me, super nice. It had a good cakelike density. Not like angel food that feels as if the wind could blow it away. And the jam was fantastically berry-flavoured without being too sweet. It also had a dusting of cinnamon sugar on top, which was nice. I don't think my friend fancied it as much, saying it was noticeably vegan. But as someone who has been lactose intolerant for years, while I could taste the apple-sauce-instead-of-butter substitution in the batter, I actually preferred it to an overly rich, oily dairy taste. We both enjoyed the wholesomeness of the flax seeds in the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and its oatey texture. However, both of us, without conferring first, offered the same sentiment: it tasted like it had a touch too much bicarbonate of soda in the mix. Still, we finished every last bite. The little shop also has some seating in the back, and an outdoor garden with seating for when it's warm down a few steps out the back door past the toilets. I'd like to come back and sip a shake in summer. And I was just chuffed to find it's the same shop I'd once adored in Camden Market, rebooted in Holloway. Wanting to give this place five stars because of its awesome vegan punkness, delicious baked goods, and reasonable prices, I nonetheless considered giving only four because of some of the flavour flaws profiled above. I'd give 4.5 if I could. But because vegan is just so much more sustainable and better for the environment, I'm glad this shop is doing its bit. So until London has more vegan dessert shops to choose from, I'm going to give five stars here for concept, exhibition, and execution.

I was so excited to see they had it because it's typically unusual to see (I only know about it because my brother is obsessed with Ireland and has had it a bunch there). Banofee pie is made of banana cream, frosting, and Carmel... it sounds mediocre but it really is a treat and Cookies and Scream hit the nail on the head with their pie! ... I can only imagine how good their other treats are ... definitely worth a stop after walking the Camden market!

My husband got the sausage, Brie and tomato chutney on sourdough. He found it tasty. The interior is so cute: lots of eclectic tchotchkes, brick walls and chalkboards. Also fair prices for everything and a friendly staff to boot. I would definitely return if I lived close by.

***this was a 5 star review but the reason I've changed it is inconsistency in menu... I ordered…read morethe avacado, chorizo egg and Parmesan on toast which I've had before and I loved. From what I remember the past is sourdough but What came out were all the ingredients squashed onto one slice of a seeded warburtons or other brand. There was no warning that they were out sourdough at the ordering and it was softly toasted which meant it had no crunch or stability to it because of the contents above. When I asked the waiter he said it was due to swapping it to eliminate the waste of people not eating all of it (no apology or offer of more toast, btw)...so? The cost should of been covered in the price you charge for it which is: £9.50!!! Change the price and menu if You are changing the meal, please. Was a perfect meal before and now it was a mound of mush with the only different texture being cubes of chorizo... The original review: Been here a half a dozen times already but I'm a bit lazy with reviews lately! Starting off with the food, delicious breakfasts, particularly like the eggs, bacon and Parmesan dish, they use good bread, no baked beans but a tasty posh version using chickpeas, flatmate really liked the Veg burger and is currently getting again. (This review is very much in the moment!) They have a burger menu that I'll be sampling for the first time today. Good coffee! It's kind of the only nice little cafe restaurant in the area so definitely recommend! This is sweet little cafe/restaurant, the premise being we are sat in view of the kitchen of a flat and we are eating home cooked food. Initial impressions is that it's nicely decorated, good lighting, brick wall adds some character and small garden of plants out the window to pretty up the view of Hornsey Road. The service is good hence the repeat visits so unless this particular dining experience goes completely wrong I'll def be coming back again
