At Healthy Steps we own and operate our own manufacturing facility for custom made foot orthotics. This allows us to specifically design and build each orthotic from appropriate methods and materials depending on the pathology and needs of the patient.

History
Established in 2009.
After working in both a clinical and manufacturing setting Derek decided to pursure his dream of running his own clinic. Healthy Steps Pedorthic Clinic opened in 2009. Canadian Certified Pedorthist Richard May started with Healthy Steps in 2010.
Healthy Steps operates it's own manufacturing facility on-site at it's main office in Barrhaven. This added advantage provides patients with fast turnaround times and unmatched quality control.
Healthy Steps has grown to provide satellite clinics in Manotick, Kanata and at solea on Carling Avenue.
Meet the Business Owner: Derek G.
Derek is a certified pedorthist exclusively trained in the assessment, design, manufacture, fit and modification of custom made orthoses (also called orthotics) and footwear in order to alleviate and manage pain, discomfort and disabilities in the legs and feet.
Derek has been practicing in the orthotic and foot care feild for over 10 yrs. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours degree in Kinesiology and continued his education at Western where he completed the graduate program in Pedorthics. His knowledge and experience with biomechanics and foot related conditions complement his hands on skills with manufacturing orthotic devices. He helps treat and manage many different foot related conditions including plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, bunions, corns and calluses, metatarsagia, diabetes, arthritis and more.
Having personally made over 5000 pairs of custom made orthotics Derek's attention to detail and craftsmanship is always top priority.
