The DT location was like a part of my family and you definitely get used to seeing the same friendly faces. But we moved to Meadowlark and this location is like 2 minutes from my house so it really didn't make sense for me to travel DT anymore. I have to say that they've cultivated the same type of friendly atmosphere and after being here for almost a year I am definitely feeling the same awesome vibe I did DT. These are fun workouts and it's always something different every time. I have seen substantial improvements in my strength from coming here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I honestly have zero complaints about this location. They try to cultivate a fun culture by hosting "No Shower Happy Hours" and things like that as well. I'm not the type of person who likes to work out and never have been... but this I can tolerate. There are also "Lift" classes now that don't include the cardio portion. It's 45 minutes of lifting and I try to attend one or two of those a week. I think that's helped me a lot with my physique. One major negative is that the heart rate monitors you purchase never work! I would honestly recommend not buying them because I never wear mine since it is always off. I just wear my watch. As you all probably know, OTF is exorbitantly expensive - I believe I pay like $189 per month. I justify the cost because this is the ONLY form of exercise that I pay for. I no longer pay or go to the gym or any other type of group fitness. I do this 5-6x a week and that is it. I had a lot of sticker shock because the price really has gone up since I joined all those years ago, but this is the type of exercise that I need. I need a structured group class that is lead by a trainer, that I can just get in and get out in an hour. I know I get a good workout in these classes that I wouldn't get if I was doing it alone at a gym. This works for me and that is why I pay for it - but I won't pretend it is not expensive.

The washroom was nice now its not even clean with towel bins outside the door they used to be inside the washroom every action at this place has jewish or chinese bean counter written all over it no offense to jews and chinese we all know their religion is money ... but seriously its close to 50 bucks a month membership ur services are NOT cheap and ur limiting showers to save hot water and eliminating paper and what looks like ur counting towels people use to save on laundry!? If ur management reading this give ur head a shake dont think anyone will sign up here i if your treating customers like that facilities crashing ... timberrr. ....... Avoid this place like the corona virus save ur 50 go elsewhere i am done after my term is up.. kicker here cancellations are 50% of term lol typical bait and switch machine The only good thing i can say is atleast this place is better than kingsway location the women working there has so much pms from not eating she literally groans like she is going to give birth while trying to talk to you . Kudos to this location u dont have that issue

Well, I am really not sure how to go about this review. This was an experience! Not one I've ever…read morehad before. Was it unique? Yes. Would I go again? No. Should you try it? If it's your thing or think it could help; GO! First off, it is an energetic healing massage. Ok, I have been rear-ended 4 times, so I frequent massage therapy quite a bit. I decided to try this place not knowing what an "energetic healing massage" was. It is not physical, it's like Reiki, and the healing part I think is aimed at nonphysical healing - which I'm not really in need of. However, I'm sure many people probably are. Also, I do believe that we have different energies and flows and stuff and having that all put in alignment sure can't hurt! So, I figured that this "massage" wouldn't hinder anything, there was probably some benefit. The part that I really did not like, found that I was quite angered by, was what happened after... You have a little sit down with the lady who conducts the massage and she tells you what colour your aura is and its symptoms, then she emails you information about "you". Well, there is not one person on earth that is like another person. We do not fit in boxes and no checklist can describe one group vs another. So when you are emailed a list of things about you and some are like 'ya, that is totally me!' then others are not at all, you start to think 'oh, maybe then that is me too'. All because a horrible piece of paper says it must be so because your aura is purple. This list of what "I am" had so many things on it that would be just terrible, horrible things to live with! It was not positive, it did not reflect me at all and frankly for a few hours it scared the pants out of me. The thought that I may "turn" into this list, it was scary! Thank goodness I met with a large group of Yelpers that night for dinner; I regaled my story, we all laughed and I realized how silly it was. I am me, I love me, I love my extremely social life, I love meeting and planning events for/with all of you out there! And I am not going to start hiding in my basement, crying all the time, afraid of public places because an emailed list of purple aura people says that's what I am!

If you are expecting an actual massage, you would be dead wrong. You'd think that it being called a…read more"healing & energetic massage", that they would actually give you a massage, but no, they just talk about energy and your energy colour. Terrible. False advertising

With smaller class sizes, you can get more personalized attention/help from the instructors during classes, and make sure you are completing the exercises in correct form so as to prevent injury. They offer a range of memberships and classes/exercises not usually seen in other gyms/workout studios, like the multitude of arrangements and heights for bars, rings, and ropes. For those looking to try it out, I'd suggest the kickstart program - a 4 week program (12x one-hour sessions) that goes over every movement they offer and how to progress from whatever level you're starting at, which means ALL levels are welcome! A drop-in/punch pass is also a great place to start if you're wanting to check it out and get a feel for the space and instructors :) Remember to bring a water bottle and SMILE!!

I've been to the Glenora location a few times; once for a class and the other time to work out on the machines. The last visit was to work out on a Saturday morning. The locker area is spacious and clean. The layout works that not everyone is in one area with one row of lockers like as some gyms. There are the full body length and half size lockers which is great and you need to bring your own lock. There are benches scattered around by the lockers. There are big mirrors, hairdryers, lotions, and I think even hairspray! There's a door to separate the lockers from the toilets and the shower area. The showers are huge and private, and they provide shampoo, conditioner, and soap. I didn't even need to bring a towel as they provide that as well! I went to the cardio machines where they have rows of bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills. I hopped on an elliptical but I didn't see the antibacterial wipes, which I like to use to wipe the machine before I use it in case the person before me didn't. The machines are great with each having their own tv and lots of channels! It makes the time go be quickly. I noticed where a few people were going to get wipes so I got some to clean my machine down. The free weights and weight machine area had lots of options so it wasn't too crowded. There were benches unoccupied it's nice there's room for everyone in the area. I also think there's a Women's Only area upstairs but I didn't check it out. Closer to the front by the offices are chairs which is great if you are waiting for a friend to come out of the locker area. The shoe area is also big so shoes are on top of each other. Great gym!

Additonally, for several hours a day, focusing on BJJ takes my mind off of any other problems that I have whether its a stressful job or a bad day in general. They say meditaton is good, well....bjj is great and gets you in shape too). At Bravé MMA, my training experience has been transformed under the expert guidance of Coach Kenny and his older brother, Coach KB, an MMA champion. Coach Kenny's deep knowledge and approachable style in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, combined with Coach KB's exceptional skill in boxing, BJJ and Muay Thai, create an unparalleled learning environment. Their commitment to each student's growth, whether in competitive spirit or skill development, is evident in every class. The gym's focus on safety, personalized training, and fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere sets it apart, in my opinion. Unlike my previous gym experience, Brave MMA emphasizes skill and personal development over a transactional, attendance-based approach. This nurturing environment, where challenges are met with encouragement and individual strengths are honed, makes Bravé MMA a unique and rewarding place for anyone passionate about martial arts.
