After the winter storm in February of 2021I received a quote from Healthy Oak Tree's owner Israel. He stated the work would be finished by the end of March due to the high demand on his crew. After numerous excuses of not being able to trim my trees he finally showed up on May 6th and trimmed five trees. I have 40 trees on my property. Israel assured me the remaining 35 trees would be trimmed prior to my son's graduation party on May 29th. On May 22nd he text me with more excuses and informs me "there's absolutely no way we can meet the deadline of May 26th". I had to reach out to another tree company to get the work finished. The other company came right out and finished the job Healthy Oak Tree's owner Israel couldn't finish. On May 26th I requested my $500 deposit back from Israel despite he trimmed five trees. He agreed to refund my deposit of $500 and would process it back onto PayPal account. After serval days with no refund I reached back out to Israel and he said he mailed it to me on May 27th. On June 9th I called and texted Israel "still no check" and his text reply was a paid in full invoice for $500. I called and texted multiple times with no answer or response from my cell however when I called him from my home number and when he answered he said he wasn't Israel and hung up on me. My experience in dealing with Israel has been the utmost worst. I hired him to remove some trees and bushes around the house back in April and it just turned out to be a nightmare dealing with him. Not only is Israel very unresponsive, but he is extremely unprofessional for leaving the job hanging for months on end. Right from the beginning there were bad signs, the job was initially scheduled to start on Friday, but it got pushed to the following week because of "issues" on their end. Then when they did show up for the job, they only cut the trees and bushes rather than removing them completely, as was agreed upon. They asked for payment and promised to come the following week to take care of the roots and stumps. Given their high rating on google, I didn't think there would be any fowl play on their behalf. But, 3 months later, I am still waiting for them to return and finish the job. I have contacted Israel countless times within the last three months; either he just does not respond to texts/voicemails or has an excuse like he's sick or has COVID. There is no end to his list of excuses folks; I know because I have heard them all from him. I have never in my life seen such unprofessional and uncaring attitude from a business owner. He knows how to talk when you meet him, but don't be fooled, it's all just talk and no action. My mother in law needed her 40+ years backyard trees trimmed and some taken out. After searching and calling several companies to come out for quotes the only really responsive one was Israel at Healthy Oak Trees, LLC. I told him where we were located, was asked how soon we wanted this done and I said if he was available, the pricing was agreeable, that we'd do it quickly. I sent him a picture of what our job looked like met us later that day. He asked what our wishes and thoughts were, he listened very patiently and then gave us his assessment on what to do if it was his backyard. We had a price/cost in the back of our minds already if we needed to take out all or half of the trees we knew were damaged and not salvageable. His estimate came later that day and though some may have deemed it high it was expected and I felt after our talking and meeting they would do a good job. Well after a 2 day estimated job by Israel, the unbearable hot SA weather that came in 2 days later when they started the job made for a longer than expected finish. All in all, these guys are good at what they do. No money was ever asked for up front until the job was done and the customer is satisfied, even after the heat extended their schedule a few extra days, AND included the first day start of job a next door neighbors during the day birthday party where our tree extended a little too close to the fence line. Israel not wanting to disrupt that too much and advising of the situation and the heat what it was changed gears on his work plan for that first day to accommodate us and them. It's a family business for these guys, his 2 sons were very nice, well-mannered and hard working. Give then a try, I hope as we found out you'll appreciate a company that stills knows how to service customers, seemingly honest, reliable and is safety conscience to put the customer first. This was the best experience I have ever had with a company. We are brand new to San Antonio and the trees at our new home had been very neglected. Isreal was recommended to me by some people in our neighborhood and I couldn't be happier! They were extremely professional and went above and beyond our expectations. They took care of our palm trees and 3 huge oaks in our front yard and made them look brand new! They gave a detailed estimate before starting work and it was very reasonable. On Easter Sunday during those high winds and gusts, a large branch on my tree in the backyard broke and fell into my other tree. My son and I spent all day Monday and half the day Tuesday trying to cut this branch down so it did no more damage to my property. It was too much for us. I took to NextDoor and found a company with great reviews. Healthy Oak Trees by Israel Flores, came out Tuesday evening to assess what happened. The next day he had an invoice ready and cleared the debris from my back yard, then on Thursday came out again to cut down the whole tree because the underlined problem was rot in the tree that made it weak. Israel and his boys were very polite, knowledgeable, and understanding of my situation as an elderly woman. I did not feel like I was taken advantage of and he explained every step to me calmly so I wouldn't worry. In August of 2020, I had hired Israel Flores to cut down and remove one tree and to grind out two stumps for me. His sons cut down the tree and hauled off the debris. He said he would be back later in the week to grind the stumps as he preferred to do several at a time and had others in the neighborhood to do as well as mine. When he didn't show up within a week, I called him and he said his stump grinder was in the shop for repairs. I waited a month to call back. Grinder still in shop. He said he would call me when he got it back and arrange to grind the stumps. Never heard from him and he had since quit taking my calls. I paid him in advance (bad move on my part). My neighbor has had him tell her later he could no longer finish the work for her as he "doesn't' do small jobs anymore". Stay away from these guys. They really struck me as being more above board than what they turned out to be. Do it yourself or make sure you hire a reputable company. read more

I had a bad experience where a different tree trimmer trimmed my branches and then left a huge pile of branches and never came back to pick them up after I paid him. I posted on Nextdoor about this and Israel came to the rescue offering to haul the branches off for me free of charge. He came right away and not only hauled off the mess that the other guy had left but raked and blew away the leaves and left my property looking so much better than how he found it!
