I have to say that I am bewildered and saddened by the few negative reviews I see her... I am still a dedicated client and will never stop coming here. I have referred so many friends and family to this place and everyone has had the same amazing results... The food sensitivity testing is life changing & most of all accurate. When I cut out the things I'm supposed to I feel amazing, lose weight & bloat and go #2 like three times a day!!! (sorry gross I know lol but this is the ideal just like a baby) By the way... My sister also goes to healthee Life and she didn't test weak for grains.. Yes she can continue to eat pasta bread etc... Keep an open mind and try not to apply the scientific method when coming here because this is a different form of medicine that cannot be proven. You are asked to fast both food and water 3 hours before coming. Then, you take a bodyscan test which tells you your weight, muscle, and fat in each area of your body. Afterwards, you hold a vial of liquid that contains a food's essence (such as apple) to your chest or stomach, while your other hand is gripping your ring finger to your thumb. The employee will try to pry your fingers open while your other hand is gripping that vial to your chest. If it opens, it means that food energy is making you weak. Once they test about 30-40 different vials, you are told which foods are negative for your body. For me, it was whole grains and tuna. The you are asked to abstain from it completely for 30 days and gradually reintroduce the food one by one if you want to, to observe the effects. I've heard of this test before being popular in Korea but I don't know the origins of the test. After they go over the negative foods with you, you are prescribed some supplements that you purchase at the counter. Total time taken for exam is about 20 minutes. Honestly, it wasn't what I was expecting at all, but since I spent $50, I'll try abstaining from the negative energy foods. This place feels like those Chinese medicine clinics where the doctor holds your hand, listens to your complaints, concocts a medicinal broth of various ingredients, and asks you to take it. Let's be realistic. Before you buy any supplements here, and before you abstain from any foods that they recommend via the test, I highly encourage speaking with a nutritionist or a doctor. -1 star for feeling a bit cheated by Groupon (description was lacking, thought this was more like a health exam with lab tests) -1 star for high price (not worth $50. I'd try up to $20 but no more). I'm a skeptic my nature. Things that seems like pseudo medicine need to be approached with caution. And faithful readers here will know that I've added chiropractors and acupuncturists lightly. So a friend of mine introduced me to Heewon and her services, I didn't know if it was real or not, but I thought I'd give it a shot. We started out with a food sensitivity test. She was able to go through over 300 items that my body seemed to had a positive or negative effect with. This test was short of amazing. It was able to find foods that seemed to deplete energy from me in a short 10 mins. Heewon also does a detox cleanse. Supposedly there are toxins in the body that make it hard to lose weight in certain areas because of toxins that like the hang on. This year, I worked hard to lose about 20lbs and thought to give this a try. My skepticism was that i'll lose weight, but it'll come back on quick. All cleanses / fasts will do that. After doing a 10 day clease, I lost about 10 lbs. It's been 7 months since the detox and I've only gained 3lbs of it back (due to the holidays). Coupled with changing my diet form the sensitivity test, i have learned to better the quality of life and enjoy healthier living. further proof is that I only got sick once in 2010. in 2009, i had gotten 4 sinus infections and weighed over 30 lbs more. If you can tell the difference between a Taco Bell taco and one from Baja Fresh, then you'll see a difference in quality of life for you too. I have to agree with Louisa. Purchased a Groupon for the food sensitivity test and left feeling scammed out of $50. The girls helping me were friendly so I didn't have any issues with the customer service, but the entire premise of how they "test" is absurd. The tester has you hold your arm at shoulder height while she applies pressure to your wrist to see how weak or strong your muscles are while she holds a little vial of liquid in front of your chest. These magical little vials hold the energy frequencies of various foods. I inquired as to how these energy frequencies are obtained, and the girl had no idea. The whole concept is ridiculous. First, I don't believe it's even possible to capture a food's energy in a vial of liquid (sure foods emit energy in terms of light - that's why they appear certain colors, but if NASA can't figure out how to trap a frequency in a vial, I don't think Healthee Life has either). Second, I am expected to believe that the vial will then emit an energy into my chest that will then cause the muscles in my arm to weaken if I am intolerant to the food? Like many other "holistic" practitioners they also try to push their herbal supplements on you, despite the girl telling me that everything seemed "balanced" based on my test results. read more

The 1-2 star reviews on here are laughable to me. If you believe that GMOs are ok for human consumption and traditionally grown produce is just as good for you as organic, I'm not sure you're ready for a place like this, nor are you ready to take responsibility for your own health. I came here out of desperation. For many years I had "mystery" ailments doctors couldn't explain or treat. A gastroenterologist diagnosed me with celiac disease, Crohn's disease and ulcers. However, no amount of testing or drugs helped solve my problem. Then, when I started getting headaches, my Internist diagnosed the migraines I was getting as Lyme disease. Again, no amount of drugs helped. Finally, a friend urged me to get my thyroid checked as she said I was having symptoms similar to her own. After seeing 5 endocrinologists (yes, FIVE), I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. 4 of those 5 doctors told me I did not have a thyroid problem at all (and that my symptoms were in my head). After finally being diagnosed, that doc told me that I needed to have my thyroid removed. 3 different doctors agreed with his diagnosis. Why are our doctors SO quick to cut necessary organs out of our bodies?!? When I went to Heewon, I had a pretty major tumor on my thyroid and was willing to do anything to heal myself. Heewon did the test so many have commented on here and told me some things I didn't know. I am super sensitive to yogurt in particular which I had been eating a lot of. I had the opportunity to have private sessions at healthee life with heewon unnie~~one on one about my daily eating habits/issues. Within a short amount of time I spent with her, she gave me so much new information about foods that I've been eating all my life--or even in that one week--that were giving me problems. I recently bought a Groupon for a food sensitivity test and I was extremely unimpressed. As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by a very unfriendly woman who proceeded to then do the most ridiculous tests on me. I very much doubt that by holding a small jar of liquid to my stomach and seeing how tight my grip was at the time could tell if I was sensitive to the food or not. I was given an awful and rushed explanation afterwards before they tried to sell me some tablets and I was on my way after just 15 minutes. If you want to be properly tested DO NOT GO HERE. I had a groupon and was skeptical because I have spent thousands of dollars on doctor's visits, nutritional supplements, acupuncture, bodywork, going to healers, etc. - all to no avail. I have had muscle testing done before and it never changed anything. I have suffered from debilitating chronic fatigue for over 25 years. At Healthee Life I was specifically told to avoid sugar, corn, white flour products, coffee, eggs, as well as all cow's and goat's milk products. (BTW - if you go to a doctor's office for allergy testing, it's not the same thing. Allergy doctors aren't concerned about food sensitivities. They are only concerned about allergies - a food sensitivity is not considered an allergy.) ...I was also give two digestive aid supplements - which really helped. Within a few weeks, I lost 15 pounds and started to feel better. I had not intended on losing weight - I had given up trying to do after intermittent years of exercising and eating with fidelity. While I continue to be fatigued, it's a more natural version of fatigue from having an extremely demanding job as a special ed teacher, being a single mom with a daughter on a sports travel team, and living with pain from severe osteoarthritis. Eliminating the aforementioned foods worked wonders. A naturopath medical doctor I see from time to time informed me that he has many patients with the identical food intolerances and that it's becoming more and more common. I cheat from my diet from time to time - which is okay as long as I don't overdo it. While muscle testing may have no scientific basis in the medical profession, discovering that I had food sensitivities changed my life. This is definitely for people who are more open to non-traditional types of medicine (google NAET testing to get more of an idea what this is about), and I would normally say I'm an open-minded person, but it was tough to go along with this one. For one thing, I know that I'm very intolerant to dairy, wheat, etc...and without prefacing my test with any of this specific information, the test was able to "come up with" these sensitivities. That said, my skepticism remains as I was asked by the practitioner (immediately prior to starting the test) how my stomach and bowel movements are, to which I replied with a grimace "not good..." Now I wonder, if I had said "mostly fine," if the test would've produced different results (other than the vastly most common food sensitivities people have that cause "not good" stomach issues). There are a lot of variables here (one in particular being the tester's subconscious to my responses--I say subconscious because I do believe that she believed in what she was doing)... Anyway, I will give this 3 stars instead of 2 because I think they have good intentions, they believe in what they're doing, and their recommendations for B vitamins (for energy), food omissions to pinpoint sensitivities, and probiotics for gut support are good things in general...just not things I didn't already know before spending $50... I'd say, if you want to get to the root of your problems with a scientific approach, spend a little more and go see an integrative MD. read more
