I highly recommend Dr. Fujiyama! I was truly struggling…read morewhen I'd first met with Dr. Fujiyama. I had been working with a wonderful TCM doctor, but she had recently retired. I was seeing a new one without any success. I was in bad shape! I can't imagine where I'd be today had I not found Dr. Fujiyama. Sincerely! TCM has played a large role in my life ever since being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition. I have worked with very skilled doctors and acupuncturists who eventually retired. Unfortunately, I had a few others in between that just never really grasped the complexity of my needs and actually exacerbated my condition. When I look back, I believe the reasons for the successful treatments were due to the connection I had with certain doctors. Not only were they wise and experienced, but they also had a warm-welcoming demeanor. I actually felt cared for when I was treated by them. They took the time to address my concerns and truly listened to me and my "body's needs." I trusted them. So when it came down for them to retire, not only was I bummed, but I was also afraid. The whole "starting from scratch" thing is exhausting for anyone. And I had to do it twice. But then along came Dr. Fujiyama! Dr. Fujiyama embodies all the same traits as those seasoned doctors. I feel safe with her. I trust her. She listens. She is intelligent. She is intuitive. You can see " the wheels turning." She is engaged, deeply. But she is careful, I like this about her! I'm like a cat, I have to ease into people. But with her, it didn't take long to lower my guard. Dr. Fujiyama is not a one-trick pony. She is both talented and knowledgable, especially about autoimmune conditions. Unless it's their specialization, I have not met many TCM doctors with this additional background. Dr. Fujiyama is gentle in her approach to TCM, even when she is adding herbs to my protocol. She always starts with a " let's dip a toe in the water " approach rather than "jumping in headfirst." She is sensible because she knows people with autoimmune conditions need gentle treatments- there are so many unknown triggers that can confuse the immune system. Dr. Fujiyama's goal is to determine and treat the underlying cause of an issue, not just treat the symptoms. This is what is most important to me. When you walk in her office, you feel welcomed and comfortable. Her office is clean, quiet, and quaint. She uses essential oils for relaxation and a sound machine to drown out any outer-office noise. Her treatments are organized and effective. Rarely, do her treatments hurt. If they do, it's due to a sensitive point on the body more than it is Dr. Fujiyama's technique. She has an excellent technique actually! Now that I have practically written a novel about the amazing Dr. Fujiyama, I'll leave you with this.... Dr. Fujiyama is the real deal! She is genuine! There is not an ounce of ego in this doctor. She is a doctor because she wants to heal people. She is very sweet when you're not having a good day, and I have lots of those, she allows me to feel whatever way I need to feel. Her empathy and compassion are sometimes all I need. That's pretty cool for a doctor these days- don't you think? ***Autoimmune support, hormone imbalances, neck & body pain, migraines, allergies, insomnia, stress, and anxiety ... GO SEE DR. She had me connecting to my womb in a way I never even thought to do. That made such a lasting impression on me that, when I got pregnant literally a few weeks later, I asked her to be my doula. Marcia said I'd be bringing her out of retire but she accepted - and I'm so glad she did! For anyone who's had a baby during the pandemic, you know how isolating and restrictive it is. Marcia's presence made the last month of my pregnancy feel so comforted and held. I loved the guided meditations we'd do over the phone. She would call and text to check in on how I was doing both physically and emotionally. She came over to practice birthing positions with my husband. It was big sister energy and I was so into it! I'll never forget the morning we decided to go to the hospital - I'd been laboring for over 24 hours already. Marcia had been checking in on me all through the night, came over in the morning to draw me a bath to help with the pain. She stayed with us all through the laboring and birth. With every push, I heard her voice encouraging and coaching me through it - I seriously couldn't have done it without her and my husband! One thing I really appreciated was how she handled the transfer of my placenta to the placenta encapsulator. It was a big weight off my mind. The postpartum care I received from Marcia was so healing and nurturing - it was exactly what I needed. The belly massages, the sitz baths, the vaginals steams, the hip binding ceremony - it was amazing! I wished she could've been with me everyday in that first 6 weeks! Long story short - Marcia is incredibly gifted at what she does. She's empathetic and in tune to what a pregnant person is going through.
