Dr. Debra Schroeder and her chiropractic & nutrition practice, Health From Within, was a referral from several of my close friends and associates working in golf and sports. For 3+ weeks a condition of pain and stiffness was growing in my neck, shoulder and arm. I had found an excellent masseuse who could deliver temporary relief (24 - 48 hours) but the work was not eradicating the pain. And sitting at my desk at the office using a keyboard and phone was only causing more problems afterwards. Then,.... my visits to Dr. Schroeder. What a difference in both practice, approach and results. Mind you I have only had two visits. The first visit consisted of x-rays of my neck, a gentle probing and examination of my flexibiliy and strength in my neck and shoulder areas (comparing the left/good side to the right/bad side). A look at my neck vertebrae via x-ray showed some problems I won't bore you with but Dr. Schroeder went right to work. She did tapping, gentle turning, some pressures and some adjusting - I came away feeling better and with lessened pain. The second visit just 2 days later was much of the same..... and when I awoke in the morning (yes, I did get some sleep) to my delight I had near zero pain and increased flexibility. READ AGAIN: In just two 45 minute visits with some chiropractic work on my neck and shoulder Dr. Schroeder had taken me from severe discomfort and pain to near zero pain and increased flexibility. Of course, this pain-free living must continue so continued sessions are needed as I remain hopeful. How can I not be convinced to follow her recommendations for the next two weeks which will consist of two to three full deep tissue massages and continued chiropractic work? Dr. Schroeder says I will be given excercises to retrain muscles in my neck for better posture and she's confident adjustments that will decrease over time will serve as preventitive medicine for neck and shoulder pain. I've been going to Chiropractors fairly regularly for about 20 years and moved to Ohio at the end of last year. I find that with my job and lifestyle, it helps keep me pain free and more relaxed than otherwise if I have regular chiropractic adjustments. I've been lucky enough to have had two other wonderful regular Chiropractors in the past in both Florida and Canada and have visited some others occasionally as well during that time. Whenever I move to a new area, I always hope to find a Doctor that matches up to my expectations and good past experiences. Not all Chiropractors that I have been to do, but Dr. Schroeder has definitely done so! I have been visiting Health From Within monthly for at least the last 6 months now, and have found Dr. Schroeder to be very personable, knowledgeable and proficient at getting me to be 100% pain free whenever I have any back or foot issues. In addition, since I am Diabetic and have been dieting, it is great to have someone who I can also get nutrition advice from when needed. Also, the office staff has always been very good. Nothing can turn you off visiting an office quite so much as when the first person you talk to on the phone or who greets you at the front desk is less than cordial. Both Deb and Maddy at the front desk have been the nicest people you could ask for! I messed up my back sitting in a chair wrong for years and getting thrown off of a mechanical bull. Seriously. Dr. Deb not only helped me through the pain but put things back in order and gave me some exercises which have helped strengthen my core and prevent future issues. Super knowledgeable. A co-worker of mine raved and referred me, so I went there, got X-rayed and then I went for a total of 3 appointments over a period of about 3 weeks. It turned out (I found out - about 2 or 3 weeks later on) that I had a fractured C2 vertebrae. She did not notice this - she said my neck muscles looked "twisted" (from stress or whatever). So I stopped going because my pain was unfortunately not going away - however I did get some temporary relief especially the nice machine at the end of the appointment. But I think it would have been nice if she could have spotted the true ailment that I was suffering from. I guess you could say that my case was simply over her head. read more

Dr. Deb is a wonderful chiropractor who also specializes in pressure point (NIMMO therapy). When I first started seeing her 6 months ago I had horrible neck and shoulder pain from years of having a desk job. After about 3 months of seeing Dr. Deb, my neck and shoulder pain is completely gone. I went from seeing her multiple times a week to now only once per month since I am virtually pain free. In addition to Dr. Deb, I've also been using the posture pillow which she sells in her office that has helped me immensely as well as using a traction device a few times a week like she recommended. I have been suffering with daily neck and back muscle pain since March 3, 2006. After 10+ years and 20+ different practitioners from both Eastern and Western medicine combined with NO relief at all I finally found Dr. Deb who saved my life. I no longer walk around on an 8 on the pain scale of 1-10 and live most days at a happy 1-3 due to her individualized time and attention she provides. She doesn't do the same old crack crack that my previous 3 chiros did before sending me on my way with no difference but instead listens and researches and looks to other things not thought of or tried, right down to what I eat and drink and how often. I am not pain free yet and I hope one day we figure out how to make that happen, but I can function instead of laying around crying and for that I am eternally grateful to her.
