I'll be the first to say i'm not a yoga expert or aficionado. I just didn't understand it. For sure, I felt a more relaxed after for a little bit, but personally it's just not my type of workout. Credit to them for running a center that's donation and volunteer driven. I wish them well.

I thought that everyone would be skinny, flexible and look down on me for my modern American body shape, haha! Neve was our instructor. I was greeted by Julia (sp.) In a beautiful, loving way. She SMILED in a kind and genuine way. She guided me in handed me the mat and blanket- they have everything you need just come in comfortable for you clothing. It was calming from the beginning. The class was a mixture of male and female, all sizes and races. Very diverse and inclusive, a rare thing in this world right now. The center is huge and renovated to evoke calm and healibf. There are three major areas. There is a small "store" in a corner with holistic literature, healing oils, and event boards that advertise other healing activities and businesses in Hampton Roads. The building is a lovely light orange with a lotus flower painted on the exterior. The awning is hunter green. The restroom facilities are superclean and bright. Everything is very clean, airy, and inviting. The building was used by Allied Rental for many years but it bears no resemblance to its former use. They offer massage, Reflexology, yoga, and many eastern modalities for healing. They are privately owned, community based and operate on kind donations, small class fees and volunteer hours. Please give them a chance. Their massages and bodywork practitioners are amazing. Extensively trained and certified. Namaste Everyone! Just in case it matters, the practice of yoga here will not conflict with any religious practices. Bring your pastor and enjoy the stretch!!!

I heard about Molly from a long time client of hers who absolutely raved about her. I have a massage therapist whom I frequent, but am always up for something new. Molly offers tui na, which is my preferred style, so I went for it. When I got there, she handed me an intake form. Then she asked me if I had ever had a massage before. I said yes. She went down the list of different types of massage asking if I had had each of them. I said yes to all but Thai. Then she said she was asking because I gave her a look like, "Why are you giving me this paper?" I wasn't feeling that, but okay... Then she tells me that she gets tui na from someone down the street and I should try it, not that she's trying to send me away. ... Then I don't get tui na. I get a combination of different styles. Now the massage itself is great. Molly certainly is skilled and knows her stuff. She has organic cotton sheets. She asks about allergies beforehand to make sure there aren't any problems. She mixes her own oils - all good stuff. And she talks almost the entire time. Some of the time she's asking you to breathe and release. The rest of the time, she's asking questions, sharing stories, and telling jokes. She said "Inhale, and relax on the exhale.... Aw, you didn't relax at all!" Well, Molly, it's kind of hard when you keep taking me out of it by talking to me. She's right. I did have a hard time relaxing. I felt pressured to relax and judged for not relaxing. It was an odd experience. Molly did a ritual at the end that she didn't ask my permission to do in advance, nor was it in a description of services. I was very uncomfortable with that as I don't just allow anyone into my psychic space. She talks a lot about Hawaii, elders, and her traditions. Maybe because her business name says "indigenous" she felt it was understood. Clearly, we didn't click, but you may. Molly does have a good skill set. She knows her way around a massage table.
