Groupon tricked me. This place was very sketchy. I booked with Jen my 90 minute massage two or three weeks ago. When I came in for my scheduled massage, there was no receptionist at the Sykes Family Chiropractic, where she worked from. So I gently knocked on one of the doors. Shortly after, she came out of the room while her client was in there (dear client, I'm sorry I interrupted). She reviewed her schedule and found out that she "forgot" to pencil me in. She blamed a technical glitch on her phone, but I was convinced that it was a professional glitch on her end. Then she told that she normally locks the front door while working on a client. When I told her that she told me it was at Frank's Chiropractic, she immediately snapped at me and told that she has been at Sykes for four years and she would of course know the name of the Chiropractor. Her appearance was very sloppy, especially as massage therapist who works on peoples' bodies. She looked like she was overdue for a shower; which was very disturbing and made me very alarmed. There was no way that someone with obvious hygiene issues was going to touch my skin. As a result, I refused to reschedule. Another Yelp reviewer made a similar comment relating to her hygiene. Not only am I wary about the massage therapist, I'm also wary about Sykes Family Chiropractic. Right now, I'm fighting with Groupon to get a credit on my account. read more

I received a groupon gift for this; unfortunately I drove 40 minutes to be insulted, yelled at, and not get a massage. I admit I had reservations after reading other reviews, and when I went to the website it was expired. However, I had no problem making the appointment, and showed showed up a few minutes early, optimistic. My appointment time came and went, and no one came out to get me, and immediately the reviews about her being late, not showing up, and double booking started running through my head, of course. I could hear voices behind a door down the hall, but I felt funny venturing into the office. A few minutes after my scheduled time, I called her number, but it went to voicemail. Not knowing what else to do, I went and knocked gently at the door - honestly, I thought a staff meeting was going on in there, there was talking going on, not the normal quiet and new age music of a massage. Someone called out "just a minute". 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, I still had seen no one, I tried to call again; again, right to voice mail. Finally she came out. Instead of apologizing for running late, she said I was rude to knock on the door, how would I like it if someone did that to me. I said I was sorry, I didn't realize, I didn't know what was going on. I have had many massages, they run like clockwork; I have never had one not start on time. Honestly, would it have been difficult to send me a text or leave a note saying she was running late? She lectured me that most masseurs run as solo operations. Is that an excuse? I mean, SHE is late and I'm the one getting lectured? 30 seconds of her time to send me a text and leave a note on the door would have solved all the problems here!! Needless to say, she made me very uncomfortable. There was no way I was getting naked and and letting this woman touch me after she called me rude and was clearly angry with me. When I said I thought I should leave she said fine - I felt like she had already been paid by Groupon, so me leaving would definitely work best for her. I left there with the opposite of a massage - stressed and upset. After a lengthy exchange with Groupon, I got them to refund the money to the person who gifted it to me - so now I had to tell them what happened, which I would rather not have done (I didn't want them to know how much grief their gift had given me). All in all a rotten experience, and a waste of hours of my time between driving there and back, waiting, and emailing with Groupon. read more

Massage was not up to my expectations. Did not address problem areas. Did not return telephone calls. Very Unhappy. Go elsewhere.

Bought a Groupon, had a very difficult time getting in touch with the therapist to schedule a date finally did set up a date. She showed up late with large coffee in hand and didn't think it was a problem that she was late to my apt. Actually told me that I was ridiculous to be upset. She never offered a drink never tried to make me feel comfortable didn't ask for a medical review before the massage and did not try to solve the problem I have been in the medical field for over 20 years and have never experienced this type of unprofessionalism and poor service Nicole read more

So I got two groupon vouchers for Jennifer's massage parlor on Thursday. I tried calling to get an appointment that day. It was a little late, and I understood that I got the voicemail. The next day however, it kept going to voicemail again. I called several times because I really wanted to get an appointment for the weekend. The website looks legit, but isn't up because it hasn't been paid for. The hours are listed, it clearly says she is open on Fridays from 9-2 and Saturday from 9-5. After thinking about it, I decided I would go early Saturday morning to the office to see if I can get an appointment in person. I walk in to the office at about 9:30 and it's actually just a chiropractor's office that I'm assuming gets shared with healing hands. There are office hours listed, none on the weekend. Let me be clear. There is no one around. So obviously I call out. No response. I step outside to see the banner to make sure I'm in the right place. Go back inside and yell again because I drove 30 minutes to get there. She comes out one of the rooms. I say that I need to make an appointment with healing hands, and she dismisses me by saying "I'm with a client right now, I can't help you with that for another hour" and the reason she wasn't picking up the phone was because one of her family members was getting surgery. I suggested leaving my number for a callback, which she didn't even suggest. I walk away disparaged and disappointed. I get home and I get a phone call. She starts out saying that it's rude for me to come into her office and yell out because it is distracting. And she doesn't have any openings for the weekend until March. She said she jumped into her first client this morning, instead of checking her voicemails. Really? What was I supposed to do? There were no signs up and no receptionist. I don't get it. This is your office. It's not like I didn't try to call. So I cancelled both my groupons. I have never been treated this way. I don't get why I didn't get a call back. I understand that she had an extenuating circumstance, but change your voicemail message to reflect that. Or pay for your website and put that you won't be available! Put a sign up on your office, have a pen and paper out of for leaving notes if you don't want people to call out. I apologized over the phone for my behavior, and I was made to feel like I did something wrong. I am just appalled at what happened. I hope anyone hoping to go to her understands what will happen when they try to get an appointment or stop by in the office. read more

I have no idea what these other reviewers are talking about. I receive massage from Jennifer bi-weekly and couldn't be happier. She is an amazing therapist and she is always very polite and professional with me and other clients I see her with when I go into the office for my appointments. read more

Bought a Groupon for this business. Not a very good massage therapist. I was laying there thinking please let this be over. She was sick coughing and sweaty. I should have just left. The place was not that clean. Overhead fluorescent light dim but annoying. No candles or scented anything. Music was spa music but the place is in a chiropractic office in a not very nice room. Strange massage. Won't go back. Nice lady but could not wait to get home and shower. read more
