Specialties
Child and adolescent therapy in Orland Park, Illinois. Healing Center for Behavioral Health specializes in pediatric mental health, providing trauma-informed, evidence-based individual therapy, family therapy, and therapeutic groups for children, teens, and adults.
We offer behavioral therapy and counseling for children and teens struggling to manage behavior, emotions, and big feelings. Multiple clinicians on our team are trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), for trauma, treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger, trauma, self-esteem, social skills, and stressful life transitions.
Animal-assisted therapy is available here in Orland Park and at our Frankfort location, The Ranch, where equine and nature-based programs give kids and teens a different way to do the work.
Our adult services concentrate on parenting, with family therapy and individual therapy for parents raising a child who is struggling. Because we treat parents and children in the same practice, families can schedule together instead of building a week around separate appointments.
Our team is made up of licensed clinical counselors who deliver treatment grounded in research, and we coordinate with your child's school when classroom support is part of the picture, grades K through 12.
Serving Orland Park, Tinley Park, Palos Heights, Homer Glen, New Lenox, Frankfort, Mokena, and the south suburbs of Chicago.
History
Established in 2012.
We started to fill a gap families in the south suburbs kept running into: finding a child therapist who had openings and actually specialized in kids. Pediatric mental health is still the foundation of the practice, with child and adolescent therapy, teen counseling, and play therapy for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief, school refusal, and behavioral challenges.
Working with kids made the next step obvious. Parents were carrying just as much, so the practice expanded its adult services with a clinical focus on parenting. Family therapy and individual therapy for parents are provided by licensed clinicians, not coaches, and address the stress, conflict, and burnout that come with raising a child who is struggling.
Healing Center serves Orland Park, New Lenox, and Frankfort, Illinois, and offers equine and nature-based therapy groups at The Ranch in Frankfort. More than a decade in, the practice still treats the whole family, not just the appointment.
