My review is for radiology only…read more I came in for an MRI of my left knee. I've been having pain in my knee for a few months and it took me nearly a month to lock in this appt. The appt was at 10pm, I arrived at 10:10pm and I was brought back around 10:50pm. I was given a gown and shorts and told to wait until someone called me. Once the tech came out he told me I could go ahead and get dressed but I needed to remove my jewelry. I have nose and ear piercings that are permanent and I stated to the tech I couldn't remove them. He told me that they must be removed and I stated that I knew that was not the case because I've had at minimum 3 MRIs in the last 18months on my shoulder, neck and back and have not removed the jewelry. When completing the prior MRIs we've covered the piercings with gauze and medical tape with no issues. I also expressed my confusion behind having to take off jewelry on my upper body when the MRI is on my knee. I asked him to at least look at my chart to see I wasn't lying about my prior MRIs and he refused stating that it was ultimately the techs comfort level (paraphrasing) that determined if it was going to happen but that he would be refusing the MRI for me. I left as I did not see the point in arguing with him over it. So after a 47min commute, and a 40min wait I was refused the MRI. I immediately called Kaiser but had left the building by the time I got to speak to a rep. They stated had I still been in the building they would've told me to speak to a supervisor in an attempt to be seen but because it wasn't a guarantee it wasn't worth it to me after the wait. So now I'm out the time it took to drive there, the time I waited and $50 that Kaiser charges for the copay. I can't speak to anyone in member services until Monday so I'm not even sure when I'll be able to reschedule the mri that took me nearly a month to schedule in the first place. More disappointed because I made the mistake of thinking Tyson's would be a good location to go to. I'll stick to Capitol Hill moving forward as I've never had any issues getting an MRI there.

That person's been better, although neither their office nor I have been able to get Momeni to send my medical records or return calls. I really can't think of a good thing to say about this office.

An appointment that would have taken my close to two hours previously was like 20 minutes. I LOVE THAT. I deducted two stars because the intravenous catheter insertion was quite difficult. There were marks of five attempts in my upper arm elbow area. A final successfut insertion was completed on the top of my wrist. I am 84 years old. I spent 21 years in the Navy where teenagers took my blood without difficulty. Since then, I have had many blood tests in doctor's offices without the difficulty I experienced for the MRI. The intravenous catheter was inserted in a closet sized room where the technician had to stand and lean over me (in a corner) to inset the catheter needle. I believe the cramped quarters and the technician's contortion may have contributed to the unpleasent experience.

The quality of care was excellent while being affordable. It has been a long time since my last MRI. When you call the imaging center they give you a choice locations and I always love to Tysons location because it's easy to get to, it's newer, clean and the staff is really friendly. They are open late & I chose a late evening appointment, 9:45pm, becuase I love going at night. It's peaceful, not busy, & you're in and out really quickly. The girl at the check-in desk was not friendly, or hospitable at all, but the girl & guy performing the tests that night were both phenomenal, friendly, fast & efficient & they totally made up for it!
