Let me preface this by saying I did not take an official tour with Healdsburg Tours. However, I had to write this review to at least comment on the outstanding character that is Jonathan. After arriving in Healdsburg, me and my two best friends called the local taxi to take us to Francis Ford Coppola winery to spend the day by the pool. We were given a wait time of 20 minutes. Our 20 minute wait time ended up being 1 hour and 15 minutes. Thankfully, about 45 minutes in, Jonathan saw us standing outside CVS and asked if we were waiting for a ride. He wished us luck, then handed us a pamphlet for his tours should we want a better option than the local taxi in the future. He also asked if we needed help, but we insisted the cab was coming. Flash forward 45 minutes. I gave the number on the pamphlet a call and reached Jonathan introducing myself as the group from the front of CVS. He promptly asked if we were still there, then within 5 minutes was there in his personal car to pick us up and take us to Francis Ford Coppola. If that doesn't speak to someones character and kindness, I don't know what does. Our trip was not off to the best start, and he absolutely turned things around for us. He even offered to pick us up when we finished up at the winery and refused to take our money when we offered to pay him. I'm not sure the next time I'll be in Healdsburg, but I can guarantee you I'll be arranging a tour with Healdsburg Tours and in the meantime will be telling all my friends about his company. Jonathan is awesome! My husband and I booked Jonathan for two days while we were in Sonoma for our honeymoon. We emailed a few times back and forth to give him an idea of where we might want to go and he made our itinerary from there. He took care of booking all of the tasting rooms that require an appointment and then efficiently filled in the gaps with some excellent places that had spectacular wine and great views. Jonathan is very professional and personable, I don't think you can ask for a better tour guide. Aside from how awesome Jonathan is as a tour guide... we also got to ride in his Tesla! When you have a smaller group of people Jonathan takes you out in his model X Tesla instead of the wine-a-baygo and it is pure luxury. Don't know how their tours are, but these guys drive like complete tools. We had to slam on our brakes because they pulled out very unsafely right in front of us in a 50mph zone and then they proceeded to drive super slow. Of course they sped up during the one passing lane so we could not get around and then immediately slowed way down again after. I wouldn't trust my life to these guys. I'd definitely hire a different tour company. read more

If you are looking for transportation around the wine country surrounding Healdsburg (Alexander, Dry Creek, Russian River Valleys, etc.) don't even bother calling another business if your group is 8 or less or so. We called Jonathan on the recommendation of the Healdsburg Tourism Bureau and had a wonderful time and zero complaints. When his vehicle could not fit up the little windy road we were staying off of, he picked us up in a large SUV, took us a short way down the road to his Wine-A-Bago, and we were off. We made it to about 5-6 wineries and all of them were excellent. In planning the itinerary, Jonathan did a great job of taking the list of places on our "wish list" and filtering them based on our request that we did not want to pay tasting fees. There was just a flat rate--no surcharges or gas charges. This was nice. With the tasting fees we saved, it was an incredibly reasonable price, even a bargain. At the end of the day, Jonathan drove us through town and pointed out some key tasting rooms, and then helped us to load up and ship our wine back home. All around, first rate service and the guy couldn't be friendlier. Like I said, forget about calling anyone else. read more

Us and another couple booked Jonathan for a day of winery touring on 7/9/2014. The Wine-A-Bay-Go is fantastic! Comfy seats, huge windows to watch the scenery, a big cooler with plenty of water and ice, and the sound system were all wonderful. Jonathan was very laid back and catered the tour to our tastes. Jonathan and Barry were fantastic! My boyfriend and I are local, and had no agenda or list of places we wanted to visit, so we left it up to them to plan 2 days of super fun, extremely tasty and entertaining days to smaller "off the beaten track" wineries. They just asked what we like to drink and off we went! On the 1st day, we were alone with Jonathan in his SUV, and it was a mellow, gorgeous rainy friday where we practically had every tasting room to ourselves, and got plenty of attention and generous pours. We had a picnic lunch (covered tables at Dutcher Crossing, warm and safe from the rain) from the general store that included the best curry chicken salad sandwich ever. Loved pretty much every place we went to. The 2nd day we had 2 lovely ladies from Seattle along with us, and Barry with the Wine-a-Bay-Go, a pretty incredible way to be transported in luxury to all our tastings. We did another picnic lunch next door to Hawkes winery (try the olive fig paste!!). Awesome. My wife and I heard about Jonathon and Healdsburg Tours through family and friends, so we booked a tour for our 25th anniversary trip to Sonoma a couple of weeks ago. We knew we wanted to do a tour of the area vineyards, but the lack of knowledge of the area made it daunting, to say the least. However, once we put things into Jonathan's hands, we were ecstatic, and the tour made our trip absolutely enjoyable beyond belief. We were picked up promptly in a very nice Tesla. Jonathon took us to a number of wineries that day. As we purchased wine, he took note of what we purchased and tailored the trip to match our taste, but he also gave us the advice to keep an open mind, and we found ourselves finding a number of wines that we enjoyed outside our normal flavor profiles. Not only is he an excellent driver, he was very friendly, and has a great knowledge of wines, the wineries of the area, and the best people to deal with while there. When time for lunch neared, he gave many suggestions, and then when we decided on a restaurant, he made reservations for my wife and me while we were in a wine tasting. As the tour ended, Jonathon helped to get our purchases ready for shipment back home. Even though we had various purchases from different wineries, he worked through Selby Winery to ship all of our purchases as one complete shipment. In short, Jonathan was more than a full-service and accommodating guide for us as newbies and would be so for anyone of any level of knowledge in wines and wineries. Jonathan and Wine a Bay Go are the perfect match. He showed us a fabulous day of wine tasting. The vehicle is very roomy and comfortable with lots of ice cold water and great tunes. Jonathan walked us into every winery and gave us an introduction to the tasting room staff. They love him and welcome his groups!! he planned our itinerary and did a great job. Lunch was a pick up at The General Store and then off to Chateau Diana to take in the views. When we arrived, there was a reserved table on the patio just waiting for us to enjoy.
