She has since taken professional photos of myself and coworkers for my "day job", shot my wedding (marriage didn't work out, but boy were the photo's beautiful), took some family photos for my parent's 50th, and now has taken some photos for use on a new website I am creating for my retirement gig - my profile yelp picture was taken by Sally. Like the other reviewers, I do not particularly enjoy having my photo taken, but Sally always makes it fun and the photos that she gets as a result of her ability to make her subjects feel at ease are phenomenal. She also has great, creative ideas and is willing to do almost anything to get the perfect shot - from trudging out onto a frozen lake Minnetonka as mentioned by one reviewer, to showing up at my farm ready and willing to climb into pig pens to take photos of piglets. (Well, maybe not so "ready" - the sparkly flip flops had to go...But once I had her in some waders, she was unstoppable). I can and do recommend her highly to anyone looking for a photographer. She was very easy to work with, took exactly the type of shots we wanted (mostly candids/semi-formal shots with some posed portraits, and artistic detail shots), and wore a smile the whole time! She had excellent ideas and suggestions for shots and was open to our suggestions. She also captures photos you have no idea she's taking. For example, she got an aerial shot of our wedding ceremony--which was only about 20 minutes long and she still had time to capture all of the rest of it. Amanda was recommended to us by a friend whose wedding she photographed, and we are so happy to have picked her as our wedding photographer. Our pictures are beautiful and excellent quality. We've gotten tons of compliments on them. I would absolutely recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a wedding photographer in the Twin Cities and outer suburbs area. Well, I hate to do this, but Emily let us down beyond words. It's especially painful to have…read morereally important personal photos of our family that we completely paid for, and she will not reply to us. Details: Had our family photo shoot on 4/12 - good location, very personable, thought we made a connection with her - $500 paid. She met with my wife to select photos on 4/24 - we were told to expect them soon. We emailed and called 5/30, 6/8, 7/24, and finally got a response on 7/25 with only approximately 10 photos sent digitally. Many, many missing favorites that were selected by my wife at the meeting. Have continued to contact her up to this date, and she will not return our messages. I suspect that she may have lost the majority of the photos or is simply a terrible communicator. Altogether, these photos were very personal and extremely important to us. We will NEVER use her again.
