I really enjoy going to heads up, the staff is awesome, always there to help you, I really recommend to place

TL:DR Avoid this place like the plague, anyone who recommends it isnt doing their job or isnt doing the homework on what these practices are doing to patients in need. I can see why the reviews for this place are terrible. I had my insurance company make a 1st appointment with Matt Stoll of Heads Up because Im dealing with serious issues related to a chronic illness and some other things I need help with. The day before my appointment I was taken to a hospital by ambulance and admitted. Even in my extremely ill state I made sure to have my wife call and cancel the appointment to not just blow it off and make sure I was before the 24 hour courtesy window. I also had her ask for another appointment as this was very important to me and all of a sudden they only have appointments a month plus out. I believe this was insensitive staff being punitive and punishing me for cancelling. They were explained this is urgent and didnt give a sh*t. As a therapist office they must have an appointment opening for what will be my next weekly appointment or are they are only seeing patients monthly (highly unlikely) so this was VERY clearly spiteful. I can say this, if you are recommended to this place refuse it, run the other way and look for somewhere that actually cares about people and has staff with some sensitivity and decency. All I will say is I hope everyone or their loved ones here that were responsible for this is in need some day and are treated exactly the same way. What goes around comes around and I hope karma gets you all. read more

At first I was a little scared I was afraid that I was going to get a therapist that couldn't relay to my background but to my surprise I had a therapist that came from the same background as me her name is Rocky she is amazing it's almost like talking to a family member and older sister I only been going for a couple of months but so far I'm doing way better than I was she helps me channel my feelings and brings me back to reality she helped me grow so far from where I came from when I first got there I was in bad shape and I really didn't think that it was going to work but to my surprise she helped me to want to live again she doesn't judge me and helps me to see things that I didn't want to see things that I thought I forgot and she helped me to see that I'm amazing also now I can get up out of bed and do normal things that I could not do before meeting Miss Rocky thank you so much for all your support encouraging words and grace and one of the most important things she taught me was to show myself self compassion something that now I use on a day-to-day basis I never knew what that meant until I met Ms Rocky she's my god angel I thank God that I found this place in Ms Rocky she taught me that life is worth fighting for and now I don't want to give up I want to live and not just exist read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Front desk is not friendly or helpful. They cancel your appts without even telling you. They start the appt 30 min late and then charge your insurance for a full appt. Do not recommend at all. read more

BEWARE!!!! These people do not have your best interest or your kids best interest at heart! They are not efficient at acquiring the proper information in their sign up packet! THEY WILL NOT ALLOW A STEP PARENT TO BRING IN THEIR CHILD FOR HELP!!! If you call and ask any questions about issues you may have.. they will simply hang up on you! And when you try to call back they will leave you on hold indefinitely! If you or a loved one are suffering with any mental or emotional issues this is NOT the place to go!! I'm honestly glad this happened because I would hate to give my son inadequate help when he is asking for it!! You're welcome! read more

Horrible experience here. I had to walk out due to the unprofessionalism and lack of regard. They are so misinformed and judgmental. They also charge a lot of money for basic things like a letter for surgery which doesn't even take that long to write. I will never return nor recommend this place to anyone. Total waste of time. Plus, even with an appointment expect to wait a while. read more

Brendeen S. has been my primary therapist for over a year now and I am extremely happy with her service and compassionate work! I have the utmost respect for both 'Heads Up' and their team for having an amazing team dedicated to Mental Health and Wellness for all! My wait time is always minimal, usually less than 30 minutes if you arrive on time. No matter what type of therapy you need, 'Heads Up' has the team to make it happen; from Biofeedback for brain health to traditional therapy one on one, or even group therapy. I highly recommend 'Heads Up Guidance & Wellness Center' read more

I saw my therapist there, Rocky, for 2 1/2 years... the more time went on, the more judgmental she became toward me. Then she got a new job. After seeing her weekly, she made ZERO time for me for an entire month. By the time my next appt came 5 weeks later I said screw it, clearly she doesn't care why should i, so i just didn't show. Rocky never called to check on me or see if I was doing ok or anything, after 2 1/2 YEARS! Do these people even have s license to treat mental health?! 2 1/2 years I don't think she helped at all, then she bailed. This place clearly doesn't check resumes. read more

this place seems good. as far as ive experienced the staff that work the front desks of unit 1 & 3 seemed very polite & understanding when there's something going on with a patient. even if its a person that arrives randomly as a walk-in needing help or calls in about medication or scheduling. they just seem to be very kind & proactive on getting the person assistance. however there are a couple things i dont like but its directly related to 2 doctors. not the actual place itself. theres 1 doctor named Carapucci, a female. shes extremely erratic. overly aggressive & even though shes a psych doctor, she doesnt give off a doctor vibe & she DEFINITELY doesnt have that caring feel/vibe of a doctor. she comes off like a judgemental donkey. which is even more strange because she seems extremely bipolar herself. then theres this new lady name Beverly. shes older. sweet sounding but unfortunately she doesnt seem to want to listen to the patient. she seems to be ok with her own judgement WITHOUT taking the patients feelings into consideration. kind of that "i know whats best" even though we all know medicine & people are not all the same. what works for one may not work for another. but because shes seen a medicine work for someone else she thinks to prescribe it to everyone. read more

I needed more therapy because of this place honestly. If you have a difficult time in therapy , this isn't the place. I was handed a packet of papers called my homework without any real discussion during a session. read more

After the disaster that was Desert Psych., my insurance gave me a short list of providers. I made the mistake of wasting over 2 months on this place. First, I wait a month for an appointment with a counselor that I did not want because they require I go to that person before the psychiatrist, which I have never been required to do in my 15 years of this. After that waste of an appointment, I wait another several weeks for the doctor. A month later, I have a second session. Dr. Faucher must have taken absolutely no notes, as she repeated all of her questions from the first session. I was to receive 4 medications. I arrive at CVS and they only have an order for 3. I called the office several (4) times over the course of the next week, and could not get an answer as to why the one is missing. After emailing the address on the site, finally someone gets back to me, to say they will try contacting her yet again. Today, after 8 days of calls and emails, I get a call back saying it wasn't prescribed and if I want it, I need to make another appointment. I was prescribed it and have the text sent at the time and day of my appointment. I ask why I have that text. " Oh, CVS must have made a mistake" NO DR. FAUCHER DID! I specifically told her I needed a refill, she said fine, and I got a confirmation text. You people can't even give me a simple call back. A shameful attempt at insurance money grabbing disguised as ineptitude and I will let my provider know you are jerking customers around. read more

I have an amazing therapist but due to being ignored when I brought a complaint I now have had a bad experience with the front end and the owner Mary Colleen O'Callaghan-Miele. You don't handoff a business complaint to the therapist who had nothing to do with the situation. It lacks integrity to say you will call and did call, yet my phone has no records nor any voicemail from her. I was first ignored on FB, then ignored when i asked the front desk to have her call me, its unfortunate because I was hopeful for a solution based conversation instead the owner has exacerbated this to the point i felt compelled to leave a review. I provided both space and plenty of time for a solution based conversation, I made multiple attempts on my end only to continue to be dismissed and ignored by the OWNER. read more

I wanted to take the time and thank Shirley Coffman LCSW-I for all her help and advice. She is a very special caring person and offers excellent services. She has gone above and beyond helping and making sure to meet all my care needs. Her consistent and creative recommendations are right on point. I recommend highly Mrs. Coffman if any one needs personal or counseling help or just simple a good talk she is the one. Wishing all of you the best and care! read more

It was amazing how coincidental it was that I arrived at Heads Up! Signed up for meditation class at a local place and they suggested I see Colleen for some help since I was going through a lot at the time. Have been going to Colleen since and she is amazing! Has helped me understand why we go through things and how to deal with it. Totally recommend Colleen read more

Very good professional counseling for troubled kids, depressed, and/or rebellious teens. Also for adults.

This place is garbage and I don't recommend coming here. It appears the only people are here by court order because I don't believe anyone would come to this place willingly. The office workers are of the lowest quality employees you could find. No courtesy or decently to be found. When you're filling out your paperwork it asks who your parole officer is, that speaks volumes about the quality of this place. Find somewhere else to go and I'm sure you'll be better off. read more

Not only does this place not make you feel better after speaking to them which is why most seek treatment but they are the most heartless people I have ever met as well. If you want to go somewhere that actually cares about your mental and physical health, I wouldn't recommend this place. Not only will you be belittled and made to feel like a complete screw up in life once you leave there due to their demeaning tones and words but the second that door shuts behind you, they will literally watch you get hit by a bus and not even blink. The young woman Gabby is absolutely too fresh out of school and has no idea how to handle serious mental illnesses and they will lie to your face regarding things to make you feel crazy. I have never gone to someone for help just to leave feeling completely worthless as they has continued to do. Spoke to another patient there this week and he let me know of a new place he found and there's nothing but amazing things said regarding all their staff so I'm officially leaving "Heads Up" and getting help from actually professionals that I needed from the beginning thanks to this sweet mans help. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Do not ever come to this therapists office. Shirley Coffman and her supervisor Dr. Scott should never work with children or be in the therapeutic field. They do not address children's real concerns. Shirley has "secret" conversations with the other parent and does not inform the parent who is bringing the child to therapy. When questioned both her and Dr. Scott release the child from therapy, rather than discuss their unprofessionalism and unethical behavior. They do not have the "child first" mentality, nor do they understand the structure of dealing with coparents and/or the court system. Stay away unless you just want to throw your money away and waste your child's time with no results. read more

I had my first scheduled appointment for my son today 5/16 at 1pm. I had to pick my son up from school early and take an early and extended lunch break to go to this appointment. I get there and sign in at 1:08, just a lil behind schedule because it took awhile to sign my son out of school. We sat in the lobby for 20 minutes before anyone noticed or acknowledged we were there and the only reason they knew we were there was because another lady came out of her questionnaire appt and needed to schedule her next visit. The lady at the desk asks her to wait and calls me up to tell me because I was more than 15 mins late she has to reschedule. I told her I was not late and I signed in at 1:08. It was now 1:35 and we sat there for over 20 mins. She was literally holding the sticker with my sons name appointment time and sign in time on it. I was upset and argued that I wasn't late and no one acknowledged us being there. Long story short. I wasted my time and gas which is not cheap, to drive across town for no reason. I lost time at work and my son lost time at school. This is very concerning to me as well because I don't know of any other places that will see my son because of his age. Based on this visit and the lack of empathy or accountability though, I will never go back. Its only a sign that things will always be bad here. read more

This place was a blessing. I didn't realize my insurance offered this service until my daughters pediatrician told me about it. We didn't even need an appointment to see a therapist the first time we went. My daughters therapist is very kind and supportive. I would recommend this place to anyone needing counseling. read more

If I could have given them 0 stars I would have. I paid $100 of my hard earned money (because they stopped accepting my insurance) to meet with a new counselor for 10 minutes (my original counselor left there, I wonder why) just to tell me that they couldn't complete my original course of treatment. Refund isn't in their vocabulary so if you like throwing money away to people that don't care about your individual well being then this would be a perfect place to do it. read more
