The second thing we did was meet with Tom and Didi and their team to produce from the storyboard, a lakeside backyard party with a nod to the friendly skies and the man who no longer flies. From the video invitation to the Bang Bang Ji Si Chicken Salad and the Portobello Sandwiches on the buffet, everything was well received. A neighbor told me when he saw the delivery truck unloading the tables and chairs earlier and then saw the backyard set up, it reminded him of the movie Father Of The Bride. On Saturday, May 25th, the Eleganté staff, led by Event Captain Mauricio had every detail in place, and Chef Didi had every flavor as anticipated. They served up the buffet while wearing a white boat captain's hat. Picture that. Gary, Julie and I became guests, so together with 70 guests, and 32 who celebrated from a far, we will always appreciate of how you and yours, made it come together and had it taken away, all on the same day. Everything came as ordered, right on time (seriously..down to the minute), and the delivery was super clean and professional (important in days of Covid). Extra special care was taken for cleanliness by the deliverer (gloves, mask, considerate distancing), and he was very professional. The presentation was also great as the packaging was perfect and orderly... with thoughtful utensils and sizing. Placing the order (questions/menu review/etc) was also a top notch experience. The 90 minutes flew by as we learned various techniques and explored different ingredients. The instructor guided us through each step, from managing the cooking flame to perfecting our knife skills, ensuring a well-prepared and delicious final dish. As someone who has no experience in the kitchen and was very scared of cooking, the instructor Alex made sure everyone was at ease and would walk around to help as needed. I'm eager to attend more classes here in the future and bring along some friends to share in the experience.
