I used Yelp to find a masseuse close to work and came across Mind and Body, only 1 block away. I texted (and emailed) as indicated on the website for a last-minute/same-day appointment for the 30 min neck and shoulder massage. They were able to squeeze me in this afternoon, and I already feel worlds better. My masseuse (who I believe was Jessica) was great, and was able to talk me through her plan of attack once I described my symptoms. After just 30 min, I feel significant relief in my neck and shoulders- she was very knowledgeable and professional, and did an amazing job. As for the office overall, it is a bit confusing to locate- once in the elevator, you need to press "M" (not 5) to get to the mezzanine level. As other reviews indicate, you are able to hear what's going on outside your room because the room walls do not reach the high ceilings, but this didn't bother me. My room was private, warm and cozy. I also liked that she didn't use a crazy amount of scented oil- sometimes I've left massages feeling like I need to shower. I was able to use my Student ID for a discount, and I did see that there were some specials offered on the Yelp page. I was also asked to pay cash (I believe their machine was down) but they told me this when I made my appointment so I had time to run to the ATM. I was wrong. She not only talked, but she complained about her college experience, her dentist, her anxieties. My husband came with headphones AND STILL SHE BLABBED ON. Before he even got there, she tried to redeem the coupon, apparently expecting that I would not notice or complain. I wrote to Groupon, called them, and had to issue a check for ID theft only to find it was her who redeemed the Groupon! The sheets were stained. And worse, my husband said it was the most painful and awful massages he'd ever received. He still has bruises! I guess his toe curling and wincing wasn't enough to stop. I am mortified that this was his experience. It was no gift at all-- it was awful. Beware of massage therapists who need to drum up business on Groupon. Clearly there is a reason for it.
