She doesn't go hack off 5inches of your hair! She actually takes off the minimal amount to even out the cut and make it look healthy again, while still maintaining the length. Gill is also a color master! I wish I could part and wield my hair the way she did! She zapped all my greys and made sure my color looked like my natural dark color and not some gothic chic. They are really good at understanding what it is that you want done and the quality of finish is great. They are also happy to go through what they are doing styling-wise step by step, so you can re-create it better at home. If you go in for a colour they are very meticulous about it and are very good at advising about whether a particular shade would suit you in terms of skin tone etc, so there is little chance of a costly or embarrassing mistake. The price is the same no matter who you see, £24 for a ladies cut (£49 for cut & colour), which is a great price for the location. I've paid almost twice as much for a worse haircut! The salon is not super fancy like some places in the west end but there was no waiting, no faffing, no excessive blethering and no hard sell at all of products or extras.
