Playground: There is a pretty big playground for kids here, complete with slides, swings, ramps, playhouse -- the whole shebang. The ground is covered with wood chips, not sand, so that's nice. Pool: There's a pool area, with a big pool and a pool for little ones. Directly outside the pool is a cluster of picnic benches. Baseball field: The neat thing about this baseball field is that it's near a block of trees and grass, so you could watch the game while staying out of the hot sun. Snack bar: pretty self-explanatory. It's not open all the time -- only for baseball games and other special events. Tennis courts: The courts are lighted so you can beat the heat and play at night! Apparently, there's also a dog park and skate plaza here somewhere, but I haven't come across either one. That doesn't mean they don't exist, it just means I need to look harder next time I visit!

There's lots of parking. There's two playgrounds: one for toddlers and one for older kids. There's…read moretwo baby swings, two kinds of swings I've never seen before elsewhere, and two regular swings. The swings were pretty high up. I'm only four foot nine so I couldn't lift my kids into the first 4 swings. The park has nice little details like a roundabout, a xylophone and rock climbing. There's a lot of benches and tables for the parents to watch their kids nearby. One thing I will say, the park is super popular and it was very packed. All the kids we encountered were so sweet and kind towards each other. It was really nice seeing everyone get along and playing together. There's an office, a baseball field and bathrooms. There's also an indoor pool but it was currently closed. Very nice park.

But unless you are friends with the Valdez or Oro's family get ready to be ganged up on. They are officials on the board, so you would think they would treat everyone failrly... Absolutely the opposite! If their team "Angels" can't beat you, they use anything they possibly can to get you to lose. That hasn't worked so now they say our teams kids are little bullies with bad attitudes! Haha If you do choose to put your child on this league get ready for the drama with Michelle Valdez. If your child is good and is on another team, you will go to war with her! Also, get your own equipment! Because unless you are on the Angels, you are getting a welfare bag (meaning) you get the lowest of the low. The Angels will come out all nice and different uniforms while they tell other teams they all habe to be the same. Growing up in baseball and many other sports, I have never been treated or been made to feel so bad. Kids on our team as well as parents come up to me and ask why no one likes us, why people say we suck. I tell them because we are winners! We are undefeated, and they don't know how to lose!

Bring a blanket, picnic basket and enjoy a fun family evening. Trees are large enough to offer shade and playground equipment is well maintained. This is also the home to Little League and the baseball diamond was in top condition like the dugouts, bleachers and restroom facilities. Parking is ample and within walking distance to the playground. Grass (at time of my observation) was green and the park was welcoming. Richardson Park offers a delightful contrast to the desert surrounding this park.

I decided to check out this park and dog park for the first time when I moved here this past…read moreJanuary, considering it's only 10 mins away from my house. The dog park looked kinda rough due to poop and debris being left everywhere and the small grass area was completely dead. It's mostly dirt compared to the other dog parks in Hesperia and Apple Valley. I don't really like how the gates don't have a secure latch. It's more of a push paddle handle, I just feel like it may be easy for the dogs to get out. Water fountains and poop bags are provided, but it'd be nice if people would actually use them. I came by again today and the DP looked much cleaner, they added another bench and the grass area is alive again. Just fyi, there are homeless that hang out there. Be cautious walking around the park areas due to debris/trash. There was also glass in the parking lot by the hall. I just wish the dog park had more grass.

It's such a shame to see the Mavericks go. This was one of the best MiLB stadiums out there. The…read morefood was always great, the staff was always nice, and Wooly Bully, the mascot, was one of the best.

PROS: 1. It's cheap…read more($2 parking, $6 tickets). 2. There aren't usually many people there (unless it's July 4 because they have fireworks after the game), so you'll get a seat for sure. (When I went, they said they were almost sold out of the $6 tickets and there wouldn't be many seats left, but when I got in, only 1/4 or 1/3 of the stadium was full.) No matter where you sit, you'll be able to see. 3. On Family Feast days, hot dogs and sodas are $1. 4. There's a Juice it Up tent, which is one of the best parts, in my opinion. ;) $4.50, which gets you a 24oz drink at a regular location, gets you a 16oz drink here. 5. There's a big, fenced-in grassy area next to right field for the kids to play on, and there's a small jump house there too. 6. If the Mavericks get 9 runs in a game, the whole stadium gets coupons for 2 free tacos from Jack in the Box. It happened when I went! 7. Wooly Bully is the mascot, and a lame slice of pizza is a mascot too (Papa John's advertising). The mascots dance on the dugout, try to get fans to cheer/do the wave, and throw a couple bags of popcorn to the audience. 8. The kids get to run across the field after the 7th inning. Lots of silly games and entertainment between innings. 9. They pass a hat every time a Mavericks player gets a home run. The employee told me that 100% of the money goes to the players. CONS: 1. Let's be honest, the Mavericks aren't a great team. They're not a terrible team either, but I stopped rooting for any team and started rooting for whoever made a good play. On the bright side, Mavericks actually won against the Storm 10-9 when I went. 2. The score board person didn't keep track of the errors, which was disappointing for those of us who did. 3. You can't understand anything they announce/say through their speakers or mics. The system is very poor quality. 4. I waited in line at the concession stand for at least 2, probably 3, innings. The workers were hurrying, so the stadium REALLY needs to have more than ONE window serving food. 5. They served me cans of hot soda (which I was able to trade in for cold ones), they were out of pepperoni pizza, and they were out of hot dogs by the time I left. 6. Sometimes you honestly can't tell if you're talking to an employee or a fan. The employees need to wear uniforms, and the same uniform at that. 7. They don't recycle any of the cans and bottles that get left in their stadium. Think of how much money they could make (and the impact on the environment they could have) if they recycled them all. 8. During one of their between-innings shows, they had "cowboys" with real guns. The good cowboys stood on the dugout and watched the bad cowboys fight each other. After a little while, the good cowboys drew their guns and shot the bad cowboys. The guns really did go off with empty rounds, and the bad cowboys pretended to die. Was this supposed to be heroic? Teaching all the observant kids that if you see someone doing something bad, shooting them is the praiseworthy response? Not trying to break up the fight? The stadium announcer provided no intro or explanation. So much for a family-friendly atmosphere. I plan to ask for an explanation from the stadium tomorrow. If the conversation goes anywhere, I'll post an update. CONCLUSION: The Mavs need to open more than one window for food at the concession stand, and they crossed a line with the fake shooting in front of a ton of kids. But I like the place overall, and it's a cheap night of fun. I'll come back again (I always do), but I won't be in a hurry to do so.

Lake Gregory Water Day…read more We made the most of our day at Lake Gregory! We tried the inflatable water park, paddle boarding, and a Duffy boat ride and each one was a different kind of fun! Paddle boarding More challenging than it looks, especially when you're trying to keep your balance, but so much fun once you get the hang of it. Duffy boat Definitely the relaxing part of the day! Cruising around the lake, enjoying the scenery, and taking in the beautiful Mountain View's Inflatable water park: The kids had a blast! Adults be prepared to work for it because the climbing and balancing are no joke! Overall, such a fun family day at Lake Gregory. Definitely recommend trying all three if you're visiting!

Unfortunately, this visit was incredibly disappointing. We reserved a cabana and arrived as soon as the lake opened, only to find guests setting up pop-up tents directly in front of the cabanas, completely obstructing our view of the lake. During our previous visits, tents were not permitted in this area--which is part of what made paying extra for a cabana worthwhile. I brought the issue to both the cabana hostess and the office. I explained that had we known pop-up tents would be allowed directly in front of us, we would have brought our own instead of spending the additional money on a cabana. The only solutions offered were to move or leave. I wasn't asking for a full refund--just a reasonable discount because the experience we paid for was clearly compromised--but the manager refused. To make matters worse, the wind later picked up and the tents began blowing around, creating the exact type of safety concern this policy should prevent. We've enjoyed this lake in the past, but the manager's poor handling of the situation and complete lack of customer service left us extremely disappointed. If you're considering paying extra for a cabana, I recommend confirming beforehand whether tents will be allowed to set up directly in front of it. Otherwise, the cabana may not be worth the additional cost.
