Choosing Karey as our wedding photographer was the best decision we made! From the moment she arrived, her calm energy put everyone at ease. She wasn't just a photographer; she felt like a friend who happened to be incredibly talented with a camera. She managed our large family for portraits with such grace and kept us on schedule without ever making us feel rushed. The final photos are breathtaking and capture the 'vibe' of the day perfectly. We can't stop looking at them! read more

We hired Karey (Hazy Lane Studios) for our wedding day in August 2022. We had the complexity of three locations for our wedding day: where we were getting ready and did our first look (Lafayette Park Hotel), the ceremony (Saint Mary's College of California chapel which is where my husband and I met for college), and the reception venue (Bridges Golf Club). We initially came across Hazy Lane Studios because Karey is a preferred vendor of Bridges. To me, this meant that she knew all the great shots at the reception venue and would provide valuable insight throughout the process. She was so responsive during the planning process and helped finalize our timeline based on her experience. She was timely, efficient, and so awesome to work with on the wedding day. We couldn't imagine our day being photographed by anyone else! We got all our photos back right before 1 month after the wedding which is weeks earlier than we were expecting based on our contract. We pre-ordered an album and are so excited to work with Karey on it once we have decided on our favorite photos (there are so many!). We also were pretty set early on with hiring Matter Video for videography. It was an added bonus that Dan from Matter Video spoke so highly of Karey, and that Karey spoke so highly of Dan and his team. It was a no brainer to hire both Karey and Matter Video. They worked so well together on the wedding day, just as we were expecting. We LOVE our photos - thank you so much Karey! read more

Karey with Hazy Lane Studios fulfills every requirement as far as what you could possibly want in a wedding photographer. Karey is extremely efficient, detailed oriented and is an absolute joy to work with. A wedding can be stressful on many levels, but with Karey, you won't have to worry. Karey is the BEST photographer that you can find, in more ways than one. I am so beyond glad that we picked her for our engagement pictures and our wedding to capture the best day of our lives. She made us feel so comfortable, even though we were afraid we would look awkward in every photo. She told us exactly what to do and knew which shots would look great. Our pictures turned out AMAZING!! She was so efficient on the wedding day with getting all the shots we wanted and wrangling our huge families together. Unfortunately, my husband unexpectedly passed away two months after we got married, and as devastated as I am, I love looking back at the beautiful pictures and memories that Karey gave us. It was the best gift I could have ever asked for. Not only did I have these memories, Karey went above and beyond and sent me a care package after learning of his passing and even went out of her way to attend his funeral viewing. There are no words to describe how thankful I am for her. She didn't just make me feel like I was another job she booked, but she made me feel like she was so invested in us to even do that. In other words, do yourself a favor and choose Karey as your photographer. You won't regret it. read more

It was an immediate connection I felt with Karey from the start (she took my call once when she was at her daughter's gymnastics practice, THAT is dedication!). She flew to San Diego to do our engagement shoot on the beach, and the photos were stunning! She made us instantly feel comfortable in front of the camera, and kept the mood light and fun. The day after the wedding we saw a couple teaser photos and were obsessed! It has been about a month and we are already looking through our wedding album to choose our favorites for our album! I can't believe we got everything back so fast. Karey really listened to what was important for us, what we wanted to make sure she captured. I am so happy we chose her to capture our big day. Would recommend her again and again! read more

We got married March 29, 2014 and have the most artistic, romantic and beautifully captured memories of our day by Karey. I would recommend Hazy Lane to anyone Karey is so fun, professional, organized and soooo quick! We had pictures of our wedding posted to facebook the night of the reception. We couldn't believe she spent 10 hours with us and then went home and posted the most unbelievable picture of us. Our entire gallery was done in a few weeks and all 1500 pictures blew us away! Her assistant was also very sweet and attentive and matched Karey's quality and artistry. We also had our engagement photos done with our wedding package and was a great experience. Karey made us feel very comfortable posing and looking our best but also natural. I also had a boudoir photo shoot and she captured beauty I didn't even know was possible. The little black book that was created was exceptional and is a gift my husband will cherish forever! All of our time with her we were impressed by her organization, professionalism and her beautiful portfolio of photos and finished album prices. I can't wait to have another big moment in my life that we need captured just to work with her again! Such a wonderful person thank you for being apart of our day! We can't wait for our album to arrive!! read more

I'm so happy that Karey was our wedding photographer! She is an amazing photographer and an absolute pleasure to work with. The resulting photos are BEAUTIFUL! Karey is very organized and responsible, and ABSOLUTELY MEETS BY TYPE-A STANDARDS. Two months in advance, she'll send a questionnaire asking about day-of timeline, must-have shots, etc. One to two weeks in advance, she'll meet with you to go over the plan and she'll send an email with friendly reminders. On the wedding day, Karey is SURPRISINGLY EFFICIENT. There was one hour (between the ceremony and the reception) that was allocated for family photos, wedding party photos, and newlywed photos. It was a super-efficient whirlwind with Karey's guidance on where to stand, suggestions on how to pose, etc. The photos are absolutely gorgeous and capture the happiness of our wedding day. I was also pleasantly surprised about the printed album - so beautiful and professionally done! read more

We used Karey for our wedding photos and she was superb! She made us feel so comfortable and was very professional. She is so sweet and accommodated all of our needs. We couldn't be happier with how she captured our day. Truly some of the best work I've seen. A photographer is such an import at decision and she delivered in every way. Outstanding! read more

Hi Karey, Let me start out by thanking you again for being a part of our wedding. You have been such a pleasure to work with and the pictures came out more beautiful than I could have imagined. I'm sure it was a challenge getting our kids to smile and hold still but you caught quite a few great pics of them. The pictures of Thomas and I look like they are out of a magazine. Beautiful, classic and romantic. Perfect. I love the ones you had us to in the stairwell. Such a unique idea. Very sultry :) With no real direction from us you met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations! You have been beyond helpful, so flexible and very kind. We lucked out that Stephanie recommended you to us. I will definitely recommend you to anyone and everyone. Thank you again, Karey! read more

Karey is exactly the kind of professional that you want to work with when planning your wedding. She is very responsive and organized - checking in multiple times to make sure you are ready for your big day. She is very well connected with other vendors in the area and was always willing to lend a hand if needed. The day of the wedding was more than I could have hoped for and Karey was able to get every shot I asked for as well as hundreds more AMAZING photos that my husband and I will treasure forever. She put my mind at ease when I needed it, kept us on schedule and was a delight to work with. We received many compliments from guests and venue staff at how great she was to work with. I would highly recommend Karey @ Hazy Lane Studios for your photography needs. read more

Karey is literally as good as it gets! I could not ask for better wedding photos!! Our number one priority in planning was choosing the best photographer we could afford; and Karey more than delivered. After a year of planning the big day, it flew by! All we have to remember everything years from now will be our photos and I am SO lucky I was able to get her to be our photographer. Karey is such a delight to work with and knows exactly what it takes to get the photos we wanted for our wedding. Since we got married this past weekend in October, we knew we would have very little light for our photos after our ceremony (5:30pm-6pm). She did the group photos in 10 minutes, I am not kidding!!! She made us (the bride and groom) the top priority and took charge to make sure the bridal party and parents were ready to go and in the correct light to get the best possible shots. I would recommend her to any and every one I know! She is AMAZING! read more

I echo what all the other reviewers say about Karey. She is beyond fantastic and her work speaks for itself. Every photo is pure magic. She captures the emotion, romance and detail just perfectly. I hired Karey to take our wedding photos at SF City Hall and I can't even put into words how beautiful every single photo is. I literally had THE hardest time narrowing down the photos for our album - I wanted them all!! The album is gorgeous and such beautiful high quality lay flat images - it's a work of art in itself. Karey is professional, courteous, and is great at giving direction (which you need at a wedding!). Her fun, bubbly personality makes the photos that much better. And her laugh - oh my goodness, it's the best. You have a grand old time taking photos, she definitely makes it the best experience! I would highly recommend using Karey for any of your photography needs. She's the best! Thank you Karey!! read more

Karey is worth her weight in gold as a wedding photographer. In my opinion, there are two things to look out for when booking a photographer - first, do they take good photos? Her work speaks for itself. Her style is soft and romantic, yet her attention to detail is stunning. Each photo has so many more layers to it than first meets the eye, and with 1,700 from our day to choose from, there was no element of the day that was missed. Second, and most importantly, Karey is incredible to work with. Her experience and professionalism went SO FAR in planning for our wedding. I felt I could completely trust in her to do her job, which left me with one less thing to worry about on the big day. She was incredibly open to hearing about my style and preferences and got all of the shots I told her were important. She kept the wedding party and family in line, was quick and efficient, and made my husband and I feel so at ease during our couple photos. She had previously worked with my planner and videographers - and it was evident that they knew when to get in and out of eachothers way, and the final products were all the better for it. Thank you, Karey, for capturing our memories forever! read more

Karey is an absolute dream to work with! She is professional, extremely attentive and incredibly passionate about what she does. She shot both our engagement session and our wedding, and we are absolutely speechless with the results. Not only does she know how to capture the perfect angles and lighting, but she also has amazing editing skills which provide an incredibly romantic and ethereal final product. Upon our first meeting, she made us feel comfortable, and we immediately vibed with her. She has an extensive list of vendor recommendations at multiple price points, and is fast to respond to all forms of communication. Karey made the entire experience easy, fun and pleasant. Working with Karey is hands down one of the best decisions we made, and we are forever grateful to have such stunning photos to remember the most special day of our lives. We look forward to sharing these memories with our children some day, and would recommend Karey to anyone and everyone looking for priceless photos of their special day. read more

Where to start? It would be impossible to overstate how impressed we are with Karey and the job she did photographing our wedding. From our initial phone consultation I could tell she was a go-getter and immediately felt just a little bit safer amongst all the chaos that comes with organizing a wedding. She arrived at the venue on time and was immediately on top of her game, and wasted absolutely none of our time throughout the day. When it was time for photos she was there telling us where to look, what to do, and working crowd control among the various looky-loos who were showing up at inopportune times. Beyond the quality of the photography and the direction, Karey was a much needed source of structure and support throughout the day, picking up the slack where other professionals fell short. She is a perfect mix of kind, assertive, and professional, and I can confidently say that if you choose to hire her for your wedding you will be getting your money's worth. read more

Karey is simply amazing. She is organized, talented, relaxed, sweet, knows how to have a good time and is genuinely excited to work with you to create your vision. I am in the process of working with her for my wedding and she keeps surprising me with simple tid bits (e.g., a handwritten thank you card, a Knot bridal magazine & a shared Pinterest board to pin ideas) a that really just shows she goes above an beyond with her business and professionalism. read more

Karey was my photographer for my September wedding and I cannot say enough good things about her! Every step of the way, she was so helpful, responsive, and fun! When we first met with her, she did a great job of laying out her different options and what is included so we could find a package that worked best for us. After we booked, she was great about checking in with us, and was able to answer any questions I had. She did our engagement photos and did such a great job, and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We met up at my venue before the wedding and discussed all of the details about which photos I wanted, where I wanted photos taken, etc. The day of the wedding she was great! We had her, a second shooter, and an assistant. It was so nice having a whole team capturing the day. She got so many amazing shots, and we are in love with the photos! She seemed to be everywhere and we got so many great photos from our wedding day. She got us our photos back so quickly and we could easily share them with our family which was great. We also got a photo album from her and it is beautiful! Karey, thank you so much!! read more

We loved working with Karey from start to finish. Since we had a smaller wedding, we were looking for a photographer and package that would meet our needs - Karey provides many different options and was a great fit for us. She has a well-oiled process to identify the must-have shots of the day and quick follow-through in getting your pictures back to you after the event. Karey has an excellent disposition and really made us comfortable, which helped so much in producing pictures we love and will cherish forever from that day. Thanks Karey! read more

Karey is awesome. She did maternity and newborn pics for me and both turned out fantastic. She is really easy going and flexible which is nice when you are dealing with kids/inclement weather/wet grass (all of which were part of my maternity session!), etc. Karey is also really creative with poses, different picture ideas, etc. and brought adorable props to the newborn session that I wouldn't have thought of. She is very professional, always responds quickly to emails/calls and had pics done really quickly, too. I would highly recommend Hazy Lane! read more

Karey was our photographer for our wedding at Ravenswood Historical Site on October 8th, 2016. She was FANTASTIC! When I met with Karey almost a year and a half prior to our wedding, I knew that we would choose her as soon as we sat down with her! She was everything I wanted in a photographer for our wedding and more! When looking for a photographer, I felt it was really important to hire someone who not only a great eye, but also someone who could "rally the troops." Before even asking, Karey said that was one of the most important things to her when shooting weddings. I'm serious - the bridal party gets out of hand, family is hard to find...Karey was the perfect combination of professional wedding photographer meets drill sergeant. I didn't have to worry about a thing when we were in her hands! Karey is also very sweet, she writes you back immediately if you have any questions, and is SO easy to work with! She was an absolute please and I will be going back for more sessions with her. Highly recommend! We love you, Karey! Thank you for our beautiful wedding photos! Karey is simply perfection. From the day I met her in her studio, I knew she had to be our photographer. Our engagement shoot was the first time that my now husband met Karey. He is not a fan of having his photo taken and I was worried that he really wouldn't enjoy the process. The first thing that he said when we got in the car to head home was, "That was so fun! She made it so easy and I felt so comfortable." This is exactly how I would describe working with Karey. She is bubbly, energetic and extremely efficient. On the day of our wedding, we had a lot of family to wrangle together for photos and she did an incredible job. The day after our wedding, we saw a few sneak peaks on social media, two weeks later we received an album of our 70 sneak peaks and today, just three weeks after the wedding, we received our entire gallery. We were extremely pleased with such a quick turnaround especially considering the amazing quality of the photos. All of this being said, not only is Karey a pleasure to work with but her work is STUNNING! She is artistic beyond measure and we couldn't be happier with our pictures. The sunset photos are absolutely breath taking and truly one of her specialties. We can't wait for our next happy occasion so that we can work with her again. Thank you, Karey! read more

Karey was an amazing and sweet photographer! She was super accommodating, took lots and lots and LOTS of pictures, and had a super cheerful and positive attitude the whole time. From the initial call, she was really eager to help and do whatever it took to get the shots we wanted for our special day. She knew the venue and the area so she was able to take us to a really great natural spot for some really cool shots. We were so pleased with her services and would recommend her for any other weddings in the Bay Area. read more

My husband and I got married in July 2017 and Karey was our photographer for multiple events - the henna night, engagement shoot, and of course, the big day!! She was one of our favorite vendors we worked with. Our engagement shoot was in Yosemite and she was incredible to be around and made both myself and my husband feel so comfortable during all the shoots. From what I remember this was her first time shooting a henna night and a Persian ceremony but I wasn't hesitant about it at all. Her work speaks for itself....she is efficient with her time and was a pleasure to work with. Photography was one of the main parts of our wedding that I truly cared about. I met with multiple photographers and I knew we would have the most special moments captured by Karey immediately after viewing her work online and chatting with her. My husband and I loved working with Karey and cannot wait to have another special occasion so we can have an excuse to work with her again. We have and will continue recommending Hazy Lane Studios to our friends and family. Thank you for all your hard work. We love you, Karey! read more

Karey was absolutely amazing! She was sweet and friendly while also being incredibly efficient. On our wedding day, she made sure we got all the photo combinations with family and friends fast enough so everyone could enjoy the party! She was a pleasure to work with leading up to and on the day of our wedding but what was truly incredible were the results of her work! Our photos are INCREDIBLE! She gave us so many wonderful ones to choose from that it was overwhelming. Not only that, but knowing that the holiday season was coming up and we would want to share the photos in gifts and cards, she created our gallery in half the time we were expecting!
