The place was super easy to fine. Sabrina took care of me. She was very friendly and great to talk to. And watching her, she was very experienced and knew what she was doing. I love my new haircut! I didn't want to lose too much of my length but wanted to give my hair a bit more body. She did a perfect job! I'd recommend asking for her for sure. It was a great experience.

I…read morebooked an apt for their Creative Colour process with olaplex (although I am unsure now what products were used) and my hair came out absolutely scorched. I had done a great deal of research into colouring methods for my first treatment. I had my heart set on a place that would do colour + olaplex. I have very dark hair so I was aware that there was the potential for damage in this kind of treatment. Klute was recommended on a few Facebook groups and their website and instagram seemed promising. My first impressions were not pleasant. The stylist whom I had booked was immediately dismissive and did not inspire confidence that they were capable of what I had asked of them. I wanted my hair to go from a natural black to blonde silver. I was aware that it could take a number of lightening sessions to achieve this. Half way through the treatment the stylist indicated that my hair would not lift enough to the lightness I wanted, which I expected. But they also told me that the colour was unlikely to turn out the way I wanted (which was strange to me) I confirmed again I was after a purple to silver colour if at all possible. After seeing the results of the dye I was surprised because the colour was totally wrong. They had decided against my asking to dye it a neon bluish purple. They had also offered to cut the ends off my hair and dry it, although at the end of the appointment they decided against it and shooed me out of the office into the winter with dripping wet hair. I was I think in a kind of shock. I had been growing my hair for nearly two years and after it had dried I was devastated to see the damage this had caused me. Fortunately, another stylist at a different salon has since been able to get the colour perfect in just one session (although my hair is irreparably damaged) I have since confirmed with a number of friends who have experience with colouring that the amount of damaged caused by their process was excessive and unusual. I've attached a picture to demonstrate the damage that my hair received. I would suggest considering my story carefully if you are planning to visit Klute for colouring. I can only speak for my experience, and for the one stylist who treated my hair but if it is any indication of their quality I would stay well away.

I have to say, Dina knows what she's doing & I am very happy with my cut (both after the appointment & since it's grown in). I was so impressed that I hired her to do the hair for all the girls in my wedding party. Two of my bridesmaids had extensions put in for the day and everyone looked great (and we had widely varying hair types in the group) - Dina is a pro. Final two points: 1.) Dina was the first person I talked to on my wedding day and her positive attitude really helped to keep me calm. I also got loads of compliments on my updo. 2.) You know she's been doing this a long time based on how professionally she cut my hair. She kept asking if the length is ok to make sure there are no surprises. She kept showing in the mirror so that you are assured it's good. The cleanliness is not the greatest but if you want a great clean salon, you're probably paying lot more. Since then I've been seeing Milan - who also does a really great job. Christopher G Hair Emporium popped up on a search with some decent reviews so I decided to give them a call. They were able to accommodate me on a 5 min notice for a trim (it was a middle of the morning on a weekday so don't go thinking that they were just sitting around without clients) and some serious hair catch-up. The small salon is located on the ground floor of a commercial/residential building and while chatting with a very pleasant stylist, Chris Jr, I found out that they'd been at that location for 27 years! That is a long time to be around for a hair salon and I was about to experience first hand why. The salon is not fancy but bright and sun-filled and so was the disposition of Chris jr my stylist, as he cheerily washed and trimmed away my split ends all the while explaining to me what he was doing. He gave me a nice low maintenance cut that still looks good without doing too much to it. Once the cut was done, he gave me one of the most thorough blow-drying, my hair had so much volume and bounce to match the lovely spring day that was blooming outside. I left feeling like a million bucks and will surely go back to see Chris Jr for my next haircut but this time, I'll call ahead to make sure he's available!
