I had work done and found the manager to be combative when I had questions about which propeller was appropriate for the application. I ended up going with his recommendation but he was very offended when I wanted to get a second opinion. Later, when I asked to be aboard my own boat for sea trials I was told that they did not allow it. Had the manager allowed me to be on the boat and had been able to ask questions, I would have much better understood the functioning of my new propeller. Sadly, I had to talk to other owners and the manufacturer as a sorted though questions. Later, when I approached the manager about hauling the boat for a few weeks, he made it very clear that he wasn't interested in doing business with me, even going as far as saying "I just don't like you." Not a great look.

We even had a chance to speak with the mechanic, John, who is a Yamaha certified master technician. He listened thoroughly and was very understanding and knowledagable. They fixed the engine up within the quoted time frame and gave a very detailed report which was much appreciated. Definitely recommend this marina, especially if you have a Yamaha outboard. We normally DIY, but will be back to get yearly service done here.

She was very gracious and helpful. Cedar Island Marina obviously gives its employees the empowerment they need to service their customers. The facilities are clean and well maintained. For 5 weeks my boat sat in the water with no mast. The communication was terrible. They put it in…read morethe water to begin with when they said they wouldn't because service was going to be done and then they had to pull it back out again for the service just to put it back in. They don't communicate even with each other let alone to their customers. This all pales in the fact that they couldn't find a contractor to step the masts so all the sailboats sat for weeks.. very sad. Then after I gave them a 1-star review on Google instead of trying to better this year they banned me from the marina because of my review! Imagine instead of trying to be better just to try and sweep your problems under the rug.
