No really knowing anybody in the area, we took a chance and had the car towed to Ellis Auto repair. The owner was awesome. It was right at the end of his business hours, but he took a look at it and managed to get it diagnosed an repaired by the following morning. I looked up the cost of parts and labor for what was done and his rates are VERY reasonable and honest. We were back on the road the next morning and we are forever thankful to the thoughtful folks at Ellis Auto for their work! Would recommend to others and gave them 5 stars!

Terry from 5 star rolled up with a smile and assessed the situation within a minute to avoid any further damage to the car. Had us pulled out and back on the road quickly. Best part besides old betsy still running was the fact Terry was happy to do it and the cost was dirt cheap to get us out of a sticky situation without jeopardizing the financials of our trip. I now have a 2014 Journey I bought from a dealer in Hays and the first week I had issues, after calling the service place for the dealership and I was told that they would only cover 10% I was so mad I took my car to Terry and he not only fixed the problem, he was able to see another issue I had not yet discovered and took care of it before I would've have been on the side of the road stranded and being a single mother of a 2yr old and GMA of a 4yr old, in my eyes I'll never go to another shop again. The shop has moved to Commerce Pkwy so yelp is not very accurate with the address. Hopefully they will see to change it after reading this review. Five Star Auto Towing and Repair GO THERE!

I purchased a vintage car from San Marcos California and planned an adventure to drive it back…read morepartially via Route 66 to my home in Kentucky. Along the way we ran into trouble approx 30 minutes west of Hays, Kansas on a Saturday night about 8 pm. The car was stuck in 4th gear and would simply not shift into any other gear. It felt like the linkage crumbled away. Luckily we made it off an exit to a rather desolate gas station and started googling who to call. After an hour with no luck, the gas station attendant gave us the number to Drexler's. I don't know how to explain, with the proper amount of emphasis, how Drexler's went above and beyond the call of duty, for complete strangers. First, this is a normal 9-5 shop and he answered at 9pm Saturday night. He sent a tow truck friend of his, who was also amazing by the way, to collect us and take us to his shop. He sent one of his technicians to meet us at the shop (again on a Saturday night) who opened a bay and let us park our rare and expensive vintage car securely overnight. The tech took our information and told us they would start bright and early Monday morning. The tow driver then dropped us at a local Motel 6 and we dug in to begin our long wait. Fast forward to Monday 8am . . . I get a call from Drexler's telling me the car was ready. Apparently, Drexler sent a tech to the shop on Sunday to complete the repairs well into the night, so we could restart our journey home as soon as possible. How do you even thank somebody for service like that. Such an amazing group of people. I hope you never break down on a long journey. But if you do, I sincerely hope it's near Drexler's in Hays, Kansas.
