I did not use this business but I still had a 5-star experience. I emailed Mark one early evening,…read morethrough Yelp. He responded 10 minutes later and offered up his cell# for direct communication or texting. We talked about costs and services and he explained what a master inspector entailed (additional training and certification)! My reason for seeking out several other appraisers was to vet the one recommended by my real estate agent (also highly rated). It turned out that everything was on the level and in the same price ballpark so I opted to honor my agent's referral. Had I not had a matching equivalent I would have gone with Mark and Pride Property, hands down. Their full inspection, including infra red (strongly recommended additional "search" behind the walls, ceilings, and floors) was similar at around $600 (i.e., reasonable). Mark, thank you for taking the time to explain what you do, what your qualifications are, and guiding me on what to make sure I get for my money if I opt for someone else to perform my home inspection.

With a few day's notice, they were able to come and fit into the timeslot I already had in mind without any issues. They arrived early, and got right to work, taking the initiative inspecting the outside things, even though my realtor and I hadn't arrived yet to unlock. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, took the time to explain every item on the report, and even the next steps to fix them. The report itself was very well done with an easy summary as well as pictures, arrows, and clear descriptions of the issues. FINAL RATING: A+ Would hire again and highly recommend!

In the third week of January I was in Tucson from Colorado to take care of my parents' home. I only…read morehad a week and needed a home inspection. Both a Tucson realtor and another home inspector who was booked recommended The Edge Home Inspections owned by Matt Leahy. Communication began by way of phone and e-mail. After this I was clear on the expense, which was $200 lower than my brother-in-law said it would cost. Also, the extent and process of the service was clearly explained. This inspection was thorough, professional, and at the same time relaxed and personable. Matt was patient and not rushed. I appreciated the explanations of home situations that needed attention, as well as tips on rectifying the situations. He was experienced, knowledgeable, and considerate of fixes that weren't required, but would make the house safer. The inspector was sensitive to my out of state situation and helpful with certain home problems that were not covered in home inspections, i.e. the sprinkler system. He recommended companies he was familiar with that could offer me those services, for example, termite inspectors. The Edge inspector, Matt Leahy, also photographed all of the home appliances and registered them in a recall check service. I have since received a report from that company on the home appliances. Also, since I was out of state and only accessing Internet through the library, Matt Leahy considerately delivered a hard copy of the inspection report to the home the very next day! I'm so thankful I received a dedicated and sincere home inspector who not only went the extra mile, but also accomplished all of this within my very limited window of time. All in all, I'm super happy and impressed that I received more than I needed and more than I could imagine, because I used The Edge Home Inspections.
