Purchased a new seat from them last January cost was over 1200. The upgraded stainless steel swivel seat broke after about 12 trips. Called them about it and was told to contact the manufacturer of the seat. They do not warranty any parts. I don't think they build the legs for the chairs either. Be careful what you get there and the customer service after purchase. They should have replaced the swivel and sent it back to manufacturer. Now I have to deal with it. read more

Had a $4000 canopy built for my boat by Haxton's. Not even two years all snaps failed attached to the boat went back in, found out one year warranty on workmanship and product. ended up getting charged another $1100 to put stainless steel rivets in instead of aluminum. I went in and got a quote to get my headliner redone on a honda element $185. brought in my own fabric and uninstalled the headliner took it into the lobby as i was pulling away the person ran out and said it was going to be another 200 in labor to strip it down i declined and said to just glue it on top of the old fabric. I called in two weeks later to check in they said another week then sends me a bill for $330. when i was paying she gave me a story about the glue as why they double the price on me. beware of this place read more

Unbelievable. I could not have been more disappointed. Well, maybe I could, but for the $4300 I spent on a replacement top for my boat. Let's start with this. The top and stern cover are obviously two different colors from two different bolts. Next, stern cover slumps and has a deep slack trough in it where it is looser than the rest. Third, the back curtain was not made the way the old one was and wes not secure and will flap like crazy in the wind. This is what I got for over 4 grand. Pros: Top itself looks good, work was done unnecessarily fast. So, given that, I decided (against my pro-guide friend who has owned 20 boats' urgings) to just let that go and ask to have the two small straps added to the curtain since that was what I had before and the job was to replace my previous top, I also was planning on spending another grand or so on other boat gear when I took the curtain back. I was not told "hey we are sorry we did not do our job as you asked us to, and will fix that right away", nor was I told anything of the sort. Instead, I was told "That is an add-on and you need to pay us $60 for it" Add-on? $2000 of my top was add-ons and these people want to d**k me for $60 that I was told to "invoice your insurance" to pay for it. WTF? I took my piece, told them I will have someone else finish their job and peeled out of there pissed. I can't believe the greed that runs rampant today. I will never ever recommend this place. They treated me like I owed them something from the minute I walked through the door, up until the moment I walked out today. Get over yourselves.... your work ain't that good. Glad to see I am not the only complainer about this crap company and their shotty work. Let's start with Piss poor attitude the owner that is. New boat top scratches in the plastic pieces left in boat and did not clean up their stinking mess snap broken for a new top Please replaced it myself with snap kit Home Depot $3.00. Called them on the matter and they seem Oh well! The best way to punish such poor business practices is to NOT spend your money on such a poor business. I see their i no rebuttal from owner on any of these complaints which is also a sign of a poorly ran business. I am anything but satisfy with the service. Customer is just awful, terrible, worst I have ever seen. The husband John seem to be ok but the wife Lynn need not to be upfront dealing with customer. I was referred to Haxton Canvas by "Shane" from Clemen Marina. I should have read the review before I hired them. Don't listen the Shane. Go somewhere, don't do business with these people. Anyways, I hired them to make me the top boot for my Bimini. They charged me right away before the job is done. I paid $90 for it. They took a week or so to complete the job. The top boot is very small. I took it back right away to have them add more material. Lynn told me she would add 5 inches to it. About a week later I went to pick up the top boot, Lynn charged me another $20. Paid for it, took it home and it doesn't fit. At this point I was more upset the way Lynn treated me I asked for a refund. Lynn said "now it's a custom job" and denied my refund. She clearly don't understand how customer service work. I could have been a long term customer but until she adjust/learn her customer service skill I will never do business with them again. Update: my thought and satisfaction remain unchanged. I would have been ok if you wouldn't have charged me another $20 for simple alteration (this is where customer service part). You told me to measure the dimensions from one side of the boat to the other which is what I did. You also promised to add extra 5 inches to the top boot but you only add 2.5 inches to it. So again, I'm completely done doing business with you. read more

I forgot when I came in about towing cover for warranty work that she would not do, I said I had a 7 week old puppy in my pickup and I needed to get him so he didn't chew things. Her comment was don't bring him in here. Hot weather and 7 weeks old and holding him, I did. I wrote the other slam about there crummy work they did and would not stand behind it or replace the post to hold the top from sagging. I bought one from amazon that was $32.50 and not home made junk like they gave me. Don't go there and come away unhappy!!!!! read more

TERRIBLE way to run a business!!! I went in 2 weeks ago and got an estimate to stich a tear in my drivers seat. I was told it would take 1 to 1 1/2 hrs @ $100/hr and I said OK and made a appointment for today. My wife and I drive there to drop the car off and then the boss came out to take a look at the car. I am now told it could take 3 to 4 hours to do the job!!! They need to have competent people doing their initial quote for an estimate!!! DON'T go here ...... you'll be sorry ;( read more

I brought in my boat seat to be reupholstered because of a tear. Price to reupholster cushion was$450. Picked up brought home and the cushion was over a inch taller than the rest of the boat seats. Was told this could be fixed by pulling material tighter, hence making a a tighter less spongy seat cushion which is more similar to what I brought in. I said sounds good. When I picked up was told I owe another $100 to pickup. Makes absolutely no sense to me to charge an extra charge to fix. I brought one seat cushion in expecting a replacement not a seat cushion that is different. Customer service attitude was basically tough ***t. I will not recommend or ever use this place again. Customer service means something. $450 for a seat cushion was not the cheapest I could find, I paid the $450 expecting quality and job done right. Hopefully this is read and the business corrects this practice. My $450 is nothing to Haxtons but maybe the business the boats in my marina could have. read more

Worst place ever. I agree with other posts that Lynn needs to not be in the customer contact. EXTREMELY rude. My job was scheduled months out. Suppose to be dropped off on Monday and done by Friday. Nope, they bumped me for other jobs, and didn't start mine until Thursday. Same answer as others on here, "it's a custom job" No kidding. And if they had stuck to the schedule, it still would have been a custom job. Just completed on time. When I called about it, she was so rude and put off that I would even question their schedule. She asked to put me on hold, but really hung up on me. Never called back until the following week when boat was complete as they believed. As far as the work, didn't follow directions. I wanted my old top back as it wasn't into bad of shape, but they threw it out. They didn't do it as I asked. Under heavy pressure, they offered to fix.......but I couldn't leave it and my boat will never go back. Run from this place as fast and as far as you can. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! They promised me to replace carpet on gunnels in 1 week but took them over 2 weeks. Always has excuse. By the way they charge me for full replacement but only done 80% and charge me full price. Carpet already starts pill off. I do highly recommend not to do business with them. Made a top for our boat that is completely unusable and they are not interested in rectifying the situation, unless of course full price is paid again. Big mistake to pay cash. Would not recommend doing business with these people. The one star is for the carpeting that they did, it looks nice. The top is VERY disappointing. read more

Do Not take any work to this shop. They quoted me one price and then when I came to pick up my seats the price had increased by 136%. Lynn then offered to reduce the price to 120% of the quoted price. Had no choice so paid the money and left with my seats. Very dishonest shop. Read the reviews before wasting your time at Haxtons. No craftsmanship, or pride in work. Needed a small tear fixed in a 1 year old boat seat, was told a week on the phone, when we dropped it off, was told over 4-6 weeks, called BS and they did it in a week. Went to put the seat back in the boat, the t-nuts were missing so the screws won't go back in, they used the wrong color thread. Took the seat back, was treated rudely by Lynn, she tried to fix it herself, made it worse by stripping the screws that hold on the hydraulic brackets, she used the wrong screws even though I labeled each bag with a count and location, told us we didn't need those screws to hold it to the boat, guess she knows more than the factory that built the boat. The most, absolute worst customer service experience, EVER! Sell you something that does not fit, then will not take it back ( and you've only had it for a month, sitting in your garage the entire time ) because it is "custom" ( but they actually just pulled it off the shelf so not sure how it is custom made). I ended up paying additional funds to modify what I bought just so it would fit. Never will I go back and never will I refer someone there again. read more

i called to see if they had two Smooth seats 4" pedestal with large plate, the women said yes and they would have them at the Sportsman's show. I drove two hours was getting ready to take the seats and I said 4" high large plate, she said I don't carry large plates small plates fit all seats. Believing her I took the seats. Sure enough when I got the mounts home I needed a large plate. I called back and got a run around and said they would look into it Monday. There was no call Monday. This will be an extra charge because of a special order not a set. Sometimes the customer can be right but not with this place. read more
