Hawthorne Suites looks nice on the hotels.com site and looks nice when you drive up to it. I had the misfortune of selecting this hotel. Upon arrival, I was nicely welcomed. I got my room key and got on the first floor. My room key did not work. The red light kept displaying. I went back to the desk, and another key was issued. Went back to the room, and "no go" with the key. Went back a third time, and this time the front desk clerk came with me with the master key lock. Finally, it worked but my key that I had still did not work. I walk into the room and there is cold air blasting out of the room heating/cooling unit. I pressed every button to get the cold air off. It was 41 degrees outside, so air conditioning is not what I needed. Finally, I gave up. I then got out my computer to hook up to the internet. The room code they wrote down was not correct. One of the digits was supposed a "6" but the way it was written looked like a "0". I had to go back to the front desk, again, for the 4th time, and when the front desk clerk told me the code verbally, that is when I looked at the one digit. I had to leave because we were moving over the weekend. When I came back, my room key worked, and the cold air was off, and the right code for the internet worked. I thought, "ok" they fixed everything. This morning, my husband and I went out to load the car very early. When we came back into the entrance, once again, our key would not work, and it would not let us back in. I called the front desk, someone answered and said they would be right down. We kept waiting, and finally we used my husband's key and pulled hard on the door and it opened. When I went back to my room, my key was not working, again, so back to the front desk I go, to get another key. I was not in a good mood at 4:30 am in the morning. Then, the front desk agent, says: Who are you? And by that time, I was most upset, unhappy and generally "pissed off." Finally, he re-keyed my key, again, and I went back to the room again, and it still did not work. Finally he re-keyed it once more, and I went back to the room and I got in. What a wonderful way to start my day. Hawthorne is technology challenged or they have their systems "tweaked" so tight, that you can't be sure of what they're doing by the inconsistency of their alledged room keys that are supposed to work. I was in room 113, ...yeah, lucky number 13...I think not.
I will never, ever, ever stay at a Hawthorne Suites again.
They also are not serving any breakfast because of the pandemic. Other hotels are, and they have a packaged breakfast available for pick up.
Hawthorne, you need to up your game!!
My request is that I deserve a full refund for all the mishaps that occurred.
