Also Nixon Park is a great place to go walking and enjoying many activities they have . One we enjoy is free concerts during the summer . They have underground parking so you don't have to worry about taking your car ! If you want quite surroundings you can have that , or if you still want to enjoy nite life you can do that too . I enjoyed the residents, the delicious luncheons given by Nancy and Byron, the two libraries, easy access to exercise room, plus computer room. Nancy and Byron made sure that all was well at the Meadows, and so many visitors commented on the lovely decorations in the lobby. There was coffee hour three times a week, Thursday night Happy Hour, and often times residents went to Friday Night Fish Fries. One even sat with my mom when she could sense my mom was feeling very down. The HUC on the rehab floor is Fi and she is amazing. She has everything scheduled for you before you know you need it and has transportation to and from appointments as well. All of the staff was very friendly and easy to communicate with. If a loved one needs rehab and Congregational Home is a choice you have, choose it.

Poppa's temporary home…read more.. Pretty standard for a nursing home type facility; splendid smell comes at no extra charge. There's a lot of coughing, a lot of "help me, help me" and a few strange patients including, but not limited to a) the whistle guy who, you guessed it, is ALWAYS whistling, b) the lady with purple headphones who just turned 100 who wants to know who drew the "no smoking" sign and c) the lady who repeatedly asks, "what if there's a fire?" Cool place, but let's hope Poppa (what I call my Grandpa) can return home soon. Until then, bring on the wheelchairs, hand sanitizer, oxygen tanks, and crazy cute old people.

Well now that I/we have had to utilize this property for rehabilitation/assisted living for my Mom, it is absolutely horrible. With in the first 4 days of being here, our Mom fell multiple times, she was placed in quarantine and no one could visit her to see what was actually taking place, because she came from a hospital setting. Once her 14 day quarantine was up, even with the Lasata Staffing knowing that they had a positive Covid testing of an employee, they moved our Mom to a different room, to start another 14 day quarantine. Luckily we were able to find and secure a new living facility for her, with in a weeks time, only to get her and see that her leg, ankle and foot were swollen. When Lasata was questioned no one would return call soft over a day. When they did call back they more or less said not our problem she's not enrolled with us any more. What a heartless caring staff you are Lasata - from the conference calls to now having a Mother in worse shape since her arrival to your facility proves / answers my unanswered questions - it's all about the money and the number of residents you keep- there is NO CARE for the resident or their families. Sham on you all!!

Our search for an appropriate memory care for my dad ended when we met the team at Azura. We just…read moreknew this was the right place. There is a positive energy with the team members here and they seem to try as hard as possible. My dad is not always agreeable to getting help with his bathing, medications, changing of clothes, incontinence, etc. but the team tries different interventions and makes every re-attempt at things as comfortable as they can for him. The home is clean, it smells pleasant, and it feels like home away from home. He started in the early memory class but then needed to move in full time when he no longer could participate and it was too difficult for his wife to take care of him at home. We have excellent communication because there are registered nurses, an assistant director and a good medical team that provide the care. The outdoor courtyard is a bonus. I visit once a month for a span of 2 days (living in Chicago), so I eat the meals, watch him in activities, and see how he is cared for.

It was quite a while ago, but I definitely remeber the day one was so mad and yelling that they had to call the cops on her to escort her out! The mom left a little while after that and I always felt so bad because she was really sweet but these daughters were trouble for sure. Pretty crazy based on stories I heard, and very negative and complaining. I'm not surprised they had troubles at the next place they went. I'm giving Vesta 5 star bc they had to deal with them! The more I think about those reviews and remember the drama they brought that I had forgotten about until now, the madder im getting. I don'thave personal experience with Vesta but I definitely wouldn't go by those reviews. It's a pretty new place and I've heard it's very nice and clean on the inside and that the staff is really good and caring. I also heard very positive things about the director from someone who knows her, so I would keep it on my list and check it out for sure. Then decide for yourself.

Our mother with Alzheimer's spent 20 months living at Vesta beginning in August 2022. The biggest…read morepro is that it is very clean. Negatives are the unfortunate lack of activities provided for residents. Small staff is busy cooking, cleaning, caring for residents needs, answering phone and doing it all - there is no activities person. Biggest negative is that the owner/director has a policy that requires a one hour notice/heads up whenever family wants to visit loved one. Also, visiting hours are limited. Our family did not like this policy, found it very inconvenient often causing us to be unable to see our mom. We often wondered what was happening with our mom when we weren't allowed to be there. In hindsight, it was unwise to put our mom who has Alzheimer's and cannot speak for herself, in a facility where family was not allowed to come unless we phoned facility and provided a one hour notice. This was not in my mother's best interest for many reasons as one might imagine, and we regret allowing her to be in this situation. I would not recommend this facility or any facility with a policy such as this.

Since my father's passing (after my mother was already gone), I have been struggling for eight months with the accounting department. For one thing, they didn't close my father's account (under Alexian's contract) with Time Warner Cable and I had to deal with TWC directly in person to do so. They also sent an unauthorized debit to a closed bank account, incurring overdraft fees to me. Meanwhile, Alexian owes me money at this point for overbilling by their own admission, but they still haven't repaid me. My emails and phone calls are not returned by the ever changing staff, promises are not kept, and the whole situation has been exasperating. The administration is very disorganized and completely unprofessional. I can't believe I'm still having to deal with this so long after my father's death.
