Had the most amazing cooking lesson with Ms. Linda on Traditional Hawaiian foods. She is so informative and super fun during this session. If you're interested in learning about Hawaiian entrees this is the class to join.

Linda is an exceptional teacher, her classes are fun and the food is amazing. As a working chef I can tell you that this was one of the best classes I have taken outside of my professional realm. G. Nottberg American Culinary Federation Certified Chef

This was a great cooking class. Not only did we learn how to cook traditional Hawaiian dishes Linda also shared the history of the Hawaiian culture. Her house is gorgeous and very clean. She also has the cutest little pig and 5 very cute chihuahuas.

We had an amazing experience with Linda at the Hawaii Favorites cooking class. We made three types of poke, coconut shrimp, musubi and mochi. She made it easy and taught us so much. I really feel like I could make these on my own! Linda is a badass woman. She's started multiple companies, including Teddy's bigger burger! She is so smart and easy going. She was a pleasure to be around and talk story with. We live on Oahu and definitely want to come back and will recommend it to all our friends!

We attended Linda's cooking class and were so happy with our experience. Linda is an amazing host with a fun personality, an impressive background, tons of local knowledge, and she's a great teacher. She was thorough in going through the steps of the recipes with us, letting us taste special ingredients, letting us know about substitutions and where to find what we'd need. Even with a group of other participants, she made sure we had a personalized experience, getting to make and take home our own musubis, asking us related, personal questions about our histories with cooking and cultures, and even breaking open her homemade kimchi for us to try! The food we made along with Linda was delicious and it was an amazing experience. It was also a pleasure getting to know our host.

Since I've been unable to walk, my husband has really taken it on his shoulders. He had told me he wanted to start taking cooking classes so he could prepare more than steamed veggies and everything BBQ. I sure wasn't complaining! So for his birthday, I booked Linda's mini class for both of us. He was absolutely thrilled with the gift! Linda is a fun and charismatic instructor and her home is lovely and very accommodating! We took the Hawaiian Favorites class and prepared poke three ways, coconut shrimp, deluxe musubi, and coconut butter mochi. I am not usually a coconut fan unless it's in Filipino desserts (weird, I know). Linda's dishes fall darn close to that category! I LOVED the mochi, especially knowing that it's fool proof! I ate sooo much and still had a little to go. My husband enjoyed it very much and looks forward to other classes as well. Yay! Winner winner ahi dinner!

Linda was wonderful. She took time to explain the steps, and we learned a lot of Hawaiian pupus / appetizers. Mahalo! My favorites were the poke, butter mochi and spam masubi! The poke is the best poke I've ever had! I'm surprised to learn I actually like it - I just needed to go somewhere that makes it really well. We made spicy, Hawaiian and Japanese style.

This was totally a surprise how Awesome this cooking class was. Our Host and Instructor was not only very experienced and friendly, but she made us feel like we were guest in her home. This was a gift for friends who don't cook. So to see their faces while preparing the dishes as well as their reactions when we all sat down to eat the meal they'd just prepared. Priceless!!! Mucho Mahalos & Huge Aloha to Linda @ Hawaiian Style Cooking Classes for a A+, one of a kind, island style cooking experience!

My husband and I travel around the world and take cooking classes, when visiting. We had an AMAZING experience with Linda. She is so sweet and was able to give us the history of Hawaii while we cooked native dishes. We prepared 4 different dishes and everything was so delicious. We didn't want to leave! Linda helped us feel comfortable and at home while teaching us cooking tricks we could use at home. I would recommend this class to anyone! It was definitely a highlight to our trip and we have great memories because of it. I can't wait to try these recipes at home!

1/26/19 We were lucky to get this as a Christmas present from a very good friend because I enjoyed cooking. Scheduled a class 30+ days in order to select the cuisine and work with the Instructor on the menu. We chose Asian Pacific and told Linda Crab curry and a modern take on dim sum. It took awhile for her to respond back, in fact I had to email what's up? She responded within a week with some menu selections and we were a go. What I found disappointing is there was no follow-up communication as a reminder, nor instructions for parking, what to wear, what to bring. Minor detail but still important to make someone's experience great. We arrived and were greeted by a big pig in a dog house near the stairs. Upon walking up to the front door, we were greeted by 5 chihuahuas (tame though) that are very cute but roam the entire house including her kitchen and dining room. Once everyone arrived, Linda explained what would happen and reviewed the menu. Apron's on, as this is a hands on experience which was great. As Linda explained the ingredients, she gave some background to those ingredients that were unusual and showed what some variations looked like too. She does have an expansive kitchen with many cool appliances and/or pantry that is custom built for her. We skipped around the menu because different items required different times to prepare. Overall it was a nice experience having hands on with recipies you have never tried before. Replicating these items at home was very well thought out by Linda, I give her credit for that. If you are looking for in depth explanations from a formally trained chef this may not be for you, but this can provide one with hands on experience that you can take home and replicate what was presented. Linda is a very nice lady and the experience is pleasurable! Many other cuisines and specialties are offered too.

This class was AMAZING! I truly enjoyed the hands on experience and we even got to taste our food at the end of the class. The environment was comfortable as if you were in your own home and our Chef was the BESTEST teacher ever! I'd recommend this class to any couple or group of friends who are looking for something fun and exciting to do! We had such a great time and learned a lot, I left feeling a lot more confident about cooking, definitely looking forward to another class soon.

Dear friends of mine planned a day for us with Lisa, who made everything look effortless! From the incredible setting in Lisa's spacious kitchen to the actual sit down meal served with a stunning view of Diamond Head, ocean and sky --- it was flawless! Our custom plant-based menu began with making dessert. Why you ask? A chef knows you start with the item that takes the longest to make. Everyone got to help make the strawberry peach fruit crisp, from slicing the fruit to making the crumble topping. The forbidden black rice with herbs, cashews and coconut was next, followed by green beans with a toasted sesame "dressing" and the ubiquitous miso soup with wakame, shimeji mushrooms and silken tofu. Meanwhile, Lisa also whipped up pan fried tofu with a scallion chili ponzu. Deeelicious!! Lisa patiently and eloquently explained the ingredients and where she sourced them. We tasted an amazing sesame seed found only in Kyoto and a flavorful soy sauce with a round mouthful that made all others pale in comparison. Needless to say we were awestruck and enlightened. Every bite was savored and every flavor stamped in memory! I'll not soon forget this amazing experience with a trained nutritionist who turned cooking into a culinary adventure! Even the pictures may not tell the whole story as all the ingredients held their own and shined in a way that turned the ordinary into extraordinary. Thank you to Lisa and my dear friends Tracy, Cheri, Laura, Susan and Velvet for the Best. Birthday. Surprise. Ever! Highly recommend!

Invited 3 of my friends and my boyfriend to try out Loliana's private Indonesian cooking class with me. Here's how the process goes. A day before the cooking class she will send you directions of where to park at her apartment and then she will meet you on the visitor floor. Once you enter in the apartment, there will be a table of all the ingredients of all the foods you will be cooking today. We then took a picture in front of the table of ingredients with our cooking certificates (best to take the picture now so you won't look tired haha). We put on our aprons and washed our hands to get ready to watch Loliana do some cooking demonstrations. Here's the food we chose for the lesson: Team Veggies: *Balinese spring rolls *Gado gado salad rolls *Vegetarian Nasi goreng *Cauliflower chicken wings with buffalo sauce Team Chicken: *Balinese chicken spring rolls *Chicken Nasi goreng *Chicken satay My biggest recommendation is to start the cooking lesson early morning like 7am or 8am because you'll be cooking for 4-5 hours. Some of the sauces to add in the meats are tedious to prepare so Loliana premade it in advance to help cut down the hours but she will show what ingredients was needed to make it. It was a really fun hands on cooking experience! The dish that I enjoyed making the most was the Chicken satay! I would most recommend trying out this cooking experience!

Baker's Heart which I mainly doing the review for is only $5 for the cookie pack or 2-pack scones, loaf or individual dessert! The cookies especially is unique and not sold in stores so it makes people happy to receive them as gifts. I haven't tried them all but Baker's Heart have many variety of cookies made of quinoa and flax seeds and they even have a pack of individual desserts such as brownies, lemon bars, scones, Okinawan sweet potato, haupia, tiramisu and more. They make perfect gifts, omiyage, favors, office gifts and for events. It's only $5! Right now the hotels are closed and they are usually do business with them! You won't be disappointed with their bake goods! You will feel great supporting them knowing you are helping a good cause. Their mission is "to transform the lives of those who is facing barriers to employment by providing vocational training in a healing and nurturing environment creating pathways to job placements. " Proceeds will help expand their culinary training & apprenticeship program. I just love the espresso with white chocolate chips. The cookies are uniform in size and is pretty crispy since they are on the thinner side but the quinoa and flax seeds makes it so different and crunchy. The cranberry one is good and one with the ulu flour is great since it's gluten free. The peanut butter one was okay in my opinion. Scones was good and comes in a pair in a nice container. One day I need to try the individual desserts like tiramisu and brownies! Cookies make great gifts because of the shelf life. Cookies taste yummy cold when I keep them in the refrigerator :) They are still working out the catering side Touch A Heart but wanted to share mainly on the Baker's Heart side.
