Ever got pissed about BS work stuff? (SMASH that monitor!)…read more That guy who cut you off (without blinkers) near University, have you foaming at the mouth? (THROW that glass tea cup!) That lying, stink breath, snake of a property manager who takes weeks to respond & overbilled you, make you see red? (SWING that metal pipe!) You ever feel so angry, you want to scream and break sh*t without someone calling the cops? (SLEDGEHAMMER that plate!). (All of this is being done legally & safely, of course, with safety suits and helmets/gloves, if you decide to drop some $$ and spend some time here.) There is a good selection of shattery breakables to choose. We were given 45 minutes but the two of us finished in about 20 (I guess we had a lot to unleash!). It gets hot in the helmet/suit, especially when you're expelling all that rage, so expect a good workout (cathartic even!) Call/check out their site for discounts/promos (including Kama'aina). Parking: lots of garage parking around the Ward/Kaka'ako area, if you don't mind a short warmup walk over.

Tried Out a Rage Room for the First Time - Totally Worth It!…read more I've been hearing about this rage room for a while and finally decided to check it out. I called ahead to ask about any discounts for locals or birthdays, and they told me they do offer a local discount with valid ID -- nice little bonus! They also said they had availability that day, so I figured, why not? The whole experience was super satisfying. Ever feel like breaking something at work but don't want to get fired? Break n Anger is the place to let that urge out safely and legally. Here's how it works: You get to choose 2 items from the top shelf and 5 items each from shelves 2, 3, and 4 -- so about 17 items total to smash. After signing the waivers, you suit up in a jumpsuit, gloves, and a helmet. They offer earplugs too, but I skipped those -- the sound of breaking stuff is half the fun. Honestly, the time flew by -- I went all in for 10 minutes and it felt like seconds. I probably should've paced myself, but I really wanted to let the rage out. No regrets though -- it was super fun, and I can totally see this being a great team-building activity. I'm definitely planning to go back and try the premium items next time!

I've walked by this little while in the wall many times. After visiting, the other night, I wonder why I have not been to this little gem sooner! Let me just say sometimes a picture is NOT worth a thousand words. I mean if you love waiting in lines to play games, then this is the place for you. If you love not being able to bring drinks from one area to the next, then Manifest/Royal is perfect. They're conjoined though so idk why weren't able to bring drinks around, it's weird. I'll be leaving the same review for both. The place wasn't even all that busy when we were in and the security inside kept asking people to move against the wall? Likeeee we're on the dance floor and it's not even busy. We kinda felt like sheep??? Idk just an overall weird vibe for what should be a fun saturday night. We stayed for 30 min before going elsewhere Only standout moment were the bouncers. They were super nice and funny.

ONE HOUR LIVE THEATER WORKSHOP FOR KIDS 4-12 with ACTIVE AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION $14.95…read more I'll be honest, I don't really know how to write this review because I don't know how to describe what exactly is going on here. BUT "The Rhelm" opened two months ago and is only here for a limited time and if your kids have seen everything on Oahu already, this is something DIFFERENT. It's not like a discovery center. It's not a museum. It's not a playground. You basically walk into a day in the life of the town of Wentrus. (See www.therhelm.com for more details) *cue the imagination music* The town of Wentrus got burned down by a dragon. The town needs help rebuilding. As soon as you ("the traveller") arrive, the villagers will take you to their various workshops where you can earn stamps on your passport when you do good deeds. Weaving and tinkering are just a few of the good deeds that my kids got to experience. HOURS: Fri 6-9pm, Sat 9a-9pm, Sun 9a-6pm. You can come whenever you want during these hours, they put a colored dot on your card so they will announce when your one-hour time limit is up. It goes by pretty quickly. LOCATION: Aloha Tower Marketplace, ground floor, across Gordon Birsch. I think they're only here til the end of September but I'm not even sure about that. PRICE: $14.95 for one hour. Other party packages are available too (ie $250 for 15 kids for a 2hr private party). PARKING: not validated. $5 flat rate (weekdays after 4pm, weekend days) *cue the reality music* So all the pictures I posted are in the square footage of one store, so this place is not really that big. Do NOT bring babies, toddlers, strollers (see age recommendation 4-12yrs), because there isn't room for all of that and it won't make sense to them anyway. Just bring your imagination and creative spirit and your kids will have a great time.

'Auana by Cirque du Soleil was such an amazing experience!…read more As a mom, a lot of my planning revolves around finding experiences my seven-year-old daughter will enjoy, and this one was definitely worth it! The acrobatics, music, stunning costumes, humor, and Hawaiian storytelling all came together so beautifully. She was completely entertained from beginning to end! Seeing my daughter experience Cirque du Soleil for the first time made the evening even more special. She loved it, I loved it, and it's definitely one of my favorite memories from this summer.

There was a really good variety throughout the performance, so it kept things interesting from start to finish. The aerial elements were definitely a highlight for me, and I loved seeing the different performers bring their own skills and personalities to the show. It felt like a fun mix of traditional Hawaiian inspiration and modern circus performance. We chose seats near the back corner and actually loved the view. You could see the entire stage really well from there, and I think being a little farther back gave us a great perspective on the larger group numbers and aerial performances. I don't think you necessarily need the most expensive seats to have a good experience here.

They were…read moreshowing Hamnet which recently got nominated for - and WON! - a bunch of awards, so decided to check it out. This place is a true hole-in-the-wall theater. The entrance is slightly hidden so it can be hard to spot, the inside is super cozy with only about 16-18 comfy recliners, and you can bring your own blanket to get settled in. It feels very local and intimate. The owner said she's been in business since the 90s. A few things to know: you have to call ahead to make a reservation, tickets are $8 cash only, parking is in a paid lot, and masks are required (or you can buy one there for 50 cents). I think they used to allow outside food, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. It also looks like they've shifted focus--while they used to rent VHS and DVDs, now the movie screenings are the main draw. If you're looking for a cozy, community-style movie night, this place is absolutely worth your time!

When I did reach someone they were dealing with "issues" and couldn't help me at the moment and didn't call me back. When I did get thru I could not seem to work out reserving a seat over the phone. Finally, I got to go see a movie about 2 years after this place hit my radar. The room has a bit of a musty smell. The recliners are sticky. You must recline your seat or the person behind you can't see. The experience of buying a ticket is a bit of a hassle. But... It is just $5 for the movie, the a/c is freezing and you can BYO anything. Including the BO. Seems like a lot of regulars go there. Adorable quirky older folks. My type of peeps. I want to go back and get drunk next time. And bring durian or something smelly to eat.
