We are new to the Murfreesboro, TN area coming from Ohio. We have had a horrible experience with another well known furniture store (starts with A ends with y) and reluctant about buying more furniture. Until we met Ms. Barbara! She was very pleasant and genuinely helped us not only with our furniture needs but eased our fears of not wanting to have another nightmare with the horrible experience we had with that other furniture store. She was not "salesy", she took into account what we were looking for and she took notice that we knew exactly what we wanted and did not want. There were some items that almost met our needs and style and she suggested "online". We expressed to her that we like to see it in person, because often times what you see online doesn't necessarily look like it in person. She understood. She was very caring, warm, and very customer service focused. We loved her so much instead of buy 1 piece of furniture we bought 2. We will be coming back to patronize Havertys and have Ms. Barbara help us with our near future purchase! read more

I had a really bad experience with buying a mattress here. My husband and I saved up during the pandemic to be able to buy the exact mattress we wanted. It should have been a red flag when they said it could be delivered in 2 days...but we were so excited! On the day of delivery, they took our old mattress away first and loaded into their dirty truck. Then brought in the new mattress - with two black streaks down the middle!!! If you are aware of Haverty's warranty, then you know that any dirt, rips, or tears voids the warranty. So, I called Haverty's and I was told they would deliver a replacement within a week. (Funny how the first bed was available in 2 days? But, I digress). The second mattress was delivered and it had black spots all over it, too. I called Haverty's again and they said they would send a 3rd mattress. I declined and demanded a refund. They came and picked up the 2nd dirty mattress. I had to call 4 more times (including talking to a manager) in order to get my full refund. It was a total nightmare. Never again. The whole process took almost 3 months to resolve....and still no bed. And now, we get to sleep on the floor. read more

Beverly was a pleasure to work with. Not aggressive by any means, which is what I look for, being in sales myself. We had a big issue with the warranty provided by Guardsman. First of all, I'd look for other options before choosing Guardsman. BBB says it all. We didn't know. Haverty's sympathized with our situation and went above and beyond our expectations and their obligations by taking care of our service in-house. Christy Strait and a manager handled our call and we are beyond impressed and satisfied with their level of customer service and commitment. Highly recommend. read more

My problem is not with Haverty's but with the warranty they sold me for $300. It was for my couch that is less than two years old! Guardsman Furniture is who the warranty is through and they are awful. I was told it was covered and they cleaned my couch. It is still not right and they said because it also is in my cushions they cannot cover the claim. I'm very upset and mad. Do NOT BUY A WARRANTY from Guardsman Furniture. I'm out thousands of dollars and will have to buy a new couch. read more

My wife and I have purchased furniture from Havertys on several times. The furniture is top notch and we have enjoyed it over the years. Nothing against the quality of the furniture they sell. After a recent purchase we took out the insurance on the furniture. Was told it would cover anything that would happen to it from kid damage to pets. WELL IT DON'T.... one of the 3 leather chairs got a small cut in it. Call Havertys and they connected me with the insurance company, after several forms and weeks was told they don't cover this type of damage. Contacted Havertys again and they said they would look into it. After a while they called and said it would cost 12 dollars to fix the issue, but 4 hours of labor at $49 per hour and a $200 pick up and delivery charge. So don't get the insurance it's not any good. Probably will be my last purchase from them Updates on my call from Havertys after the review on Yelp. They told me they would repair my chair at no cost to me. After a month was call back and told the material could not be found and they would issue me a Gift Certificate in the amount of 250 dollars that had to be spent in a Havertys store. Hate to say it again Don't buy the Warrenty on there furniture and my last dollar has been spent at Havertys. To many other furniture places in my area. read more

We have purchased a lot of furniture from Havertys over the previous 10 years, probably in the area of $25,000 worth. We have never experienced any disappointment and only one glitch, with a 2 year old office chair. They remedied that issue by bringing us out a new chair. Havertys is not a discount furniture store. They choose to not sell lower end furniture. Therefore, it's unfair in many respects when price shopping to compare them to Ashley's furniture or Rooms to Go, both of which sell lower grade furniture and in the case of Rooms to Go, best described as disposable Furrniture. Havertys delivery people are also top notch and very professional. The sales people at Havertys do not engage in high pressure sales and seem to be skilled in customer contact. read more

Purchased a leather couch about a year and a half ago. It appeared to be a pretty good deal, paid around $1,500 out the door. They asked if we wanted to purchase a color fade warranty and we didn't because we have had other leather furniture in the past and didn't fade hardly at all. Now I know why they were pushing the warranty. It was made in China. I expected Haverty to only sell good quality furniture, was one of the reasons we decided to buy from them. I have learned my lesson, I will ask in the future where high dollar products are made. The reason for the two star review is the leather is fading really bad after only two years. read more

We have purchased several thousand dollars of furniture over the years at Havertys and up until now - we were pleased. This time we were extremely disappointed in the customer service. We purchase furniture and told a delivery date. Then we were called the day before and told the time (2 HR window) which would not work for our schedules due to work. We asked if the time could be shifted 1 HR and they refused. They also refused to give us a time the next day- saying they would call and let us know and we would need to take that time or it would be a week before delivery was available again. Even though we are the customer they were not concerned about our schedules or getting our furniture to us at a time we would be home. We told them if they couldn't get our furniture to us at a time we were at home we would need to cancel the order and they simply said-"okay!" So we cancelled! read more

We shopped around at 4 different furniture stores in the area before deciding on a Haverty's sofa. Our decision was made in part because of the professionalism of our saleswoman Nita. She is amazing and was a delight to work with. She explained everything very thoroughly, and was not pushy at all. When we left to go to a restaurant to talk about our furniture options, she provided printed copies of all of the options available for our sofa so that we could discuss them over dinner. She followed up with a phone call after delivery to make sure that we were happy. The overall experience dealing with Haverty's was also great! We had our sofa delivered to our home within days of purchase rather than weeks and the delivery drivers were very professional and took great care not to damage anything in our home. We will definitely be shopping at Haverty's in the future and will recommend to friends. read more

I fell in love with a set that were currently out of stock, so my sales lady Beverly told me to put a $600 deposit down to hold my pieces when they come in, which wouldn't be for another month, she told me. Since we wouldn't be back from out of state for another month or so, I thought that would work. A week later, a rep at that store called to let me know my pieces were already in and wanted me to commit to a delivery date. Since I was out of state, I scheduled it four weeks from that day. They only deliver every other week to our remote area. Unfortunately our plans changed and we couldn't leave Florida so I called the store and rescheduled it three more weeks out, which she was fine with. I had planned on leaving Florida an extra three days earlier so we can be there to receive my furniture. Well, right before I left Florida and three days before our delivery date, on Sunday at 10am, my sales rep Beverly TEXT'D me while she was driving to work to let me know my furniture is on backorder since it is a very Popular piece and that I needed to make my final payment seven days before the delivery date and that they can't commit to a delivery date until full payment was made because my furniture was on "layaway"! I never laid anything away! I don't even know how that works! And she told me if I made payment today, I wouldn't get my pieces until next month! I was sooo pisssed!!! I text' her back and demanded why no one told me about this payment 7 days prior to delivery!! She claimed that she and the girls at the store have been calling me for two months about this and she claimed to have emailed me twice!!! I only got an email from her this morning along with her text!! And I have spoken to TWO ladies at that store about my delivery dates but none of them mentioned this at all! I told her how convenient to have gotten a hold of me, on a Sunday morning while she was driving to work to let me know this important info about the furniture that I expected that is now on back order for another month!! And she was trying to get a hold of me for two months?? She lied to me, said the $600 will hold my furniture, and she prob sold my furniture to someone else since it is so "POPULAR", yes she capped it. I told her to cancel my order, that I'll buy my furniture from La z boys, she said "okay". No, Beverly, it is NOT okay. I'll end up having to pay an extra $2k at LaZBoys but at least I'll get my furniture and won't be lied to. It is an ordeal for me to travel from TN to FL and lots of scheduling and planning needs to be done when we do. This is the worst experience I've ever had with purchasing furniture. I should have stuck with LaZBoys, I've purchased two sets from them since 2014 and I've always had great experiences! Stay away from Beverly at Havertys. SHE IS A LIAR. read more

I do wish I had read reviews before I made a purchase. This was a terrible shopping experience. We purchased a special order loveseat, it was not cheap. I was told that it would take 5-7 weeks but that "we always say that but it probably won't take that long". 10 weeks later, still no loveseat. I emailed and called the sales person during this time and got no response whatsoever. My husband went into the store, no one seemed to know where our couch was. Finally this week we were told that they had made our couch but there were flaws in the fabric so they ripped off the fabric only to discover that they no longer have that fabric. No one thought to let anyone know about this. Communication was the missing element here. All the communication was from our side, not once did the company contact us to apologize for the delay, even when I went into the store to get my money back there was no apology given. I will never shop at havertys again, the customer service is well below standard. read more

Absolutely rubbish and cheap furniture. Brought a living room set here and it has not even survived 4 years! Two adults, no pets, no kids, furniture looks like crap and I have spent $6,000 to replace it with something that will last. This is a place you buy disposable furniture and nothing else, don't be fooled, the stuff is junk. Probably OK for a dorm room, but, certainly, not something you want for your home. I am reviewing strictly on the sale - purchase as we have not had our furniture delivered yet. We have regularly purchased from Ashley over the years and they just didn't have what I was looking for this time. I went to Lazy Boy and found something I liked, but the couches were quoted at $1300 each. I found couches at Hvertys very similar to what I picked out at Lazy Boy for $900 each. In fact, the ones at Havertys actually glide in addition to recline, something the Lazy Boy couches did not do. The warranty was with the same company, Guardsman. Our sales lady at Havertys, Nita, was very friendly and kept up with me through email. The entire staff at Havertys is very friendly. We enjoyed our experience in purchasing here and I will definitely return. Ashley does have a lot more to choose from, but I feel Havertys has higher quality furniture for sure and even their sales personnel is higher quality - I always felt bombarded at Ashley. read more
