I started interviewing doulas and midwives when I was only 3 months pregnant. After contacting Cynthya thru the Happiest Doulas website, I spoke with her and knew immediately that I needed the support of a doula from The Happiest Doulas as a part of my birth team. I requested a consult with Jeni Standard. Jeni's biography resonated with me the most because she had studied functional nutrition, and was certified in both nutrition and lactation. As a sufferer of Celiac Disease and someone who struggled with getting pregnant, I knew she would be a great resource and offer the support and understanding I needed. And I was so right - Jeni was the calm to my storm! She was there to comfort me after after some scary experiences. She also had great reading recommendations, as I was avidly reading all the books while pregnant. We had so many questions after our son was born and Jeni was so supportive and responsive. Because she is also a certified lactation consultant, she was able to support my decision to breastfeed, despite many obstacles. She followed up with me many times after our son was born, and I still feel like I could reach out to her just to catch up! Included in my birth package were 10 weeks of birth bootcamp classes. Our instructor, Alexa Gumm, was so wonderful! Her warmth and experience made our weekly Sunday classes something that my husband and I truly looked forward to. It turned out to be a great bonding experience for the two of us. We learned so much - from what to expect during labor (we got to watch videos) to info on breastfeeding. The classes were great for me, but mostly, I wanted my husband to really understand the process. He is not the type to read books, so a class was perfect. Alexa made sure the "dads" understood ways to support their partners during the birthing process. Alexa would have been so proud of my husband because he remembered everything she taught us during class and he was really supportive while I was in labor! She even followed up with me after our son was born and gave me some recommendations that were really helpful. I am so thankful Cynthya brought together the wonderful group called The Happiest Doulas! I will surely call on them again in the future when I plan my next birth. Cynthya was so kind and helpful as well throughout. I feel as if I gained 3 wonderful friends by the end of my pregnancy.

The resources Cynthya provided made me and my husband feel informed, extra prepared and confident as we navigated all the choices we needed to make. From the moment we met Jeni, she made us feel so at ease and excited about our labor and delivery journey and she created such a calming and sacred space in the hospital for us. Jeni advocated for us when we needed it and provided emotional and physical support that made me feel safe and empowered the entire time to have an unmedicated birth. Her post partum visit saved my breastfeeding journey where she gave us valuable advice and almost 5 months later, I am still happily breastfeeding. We couldn't be more grateful for Happiest Doulas!!

I didn't think she would have taken me as her client because I was already 39 weeks pregnant at our first meeting. The night I went into labor at 41 weeks, she showed up ready...essential oils and all! She was with my Husband and I for every step of the way (triage to an hour or so after the baby arrived) and she respected/supported EVERY decision my Husband and I made. She never once appeared tired, impatient, or frustrated with the birthing progress. We had a completely natural birth (in a hospital setting) but having Shiphrah and my Husband there made me feel like I was in the comfort of my own home- despite all the unnecessary hospital chaos that was happening around me. I would definitely use her again! I still think about the back rubs, the counter pressure, hugs, breathing techniques, leg rubs, smiles, reassurance, and just calm spirit she maintained to help me through such a painful & beautiful time! We need more empowering women of faith like this in the community, My husband and I thank God for her!

Yolanda was (and still is) truly a blessing during my pregnancy and postpartum. I have a good support system around me but I wanted someone with more experience in the field of entering motherhood. My husband and family initially did not see the need for a doula but once they saw her in action and how much knowledge she gave us they quickly changed their minds. You can tell she loves what she does and has a love for her mamas and their families. She will definitely be hired for baby #2 for us. I am truly grateful!

She walked us through the background of the "why" and then transitioned into the "how". So thankful that Guina was willing to share her wisdom with us. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking a calm, reassuring veteran to help guide them through the birthing process. Here is my experience with LS Acting Studio's Lucky 7 Convention…read more I want to start by saying that the acting instructors were kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. The classes themselves were informative. However, with only one two-hour class per week and a large number of students, there wasn't enough time to receive meaningful individual coaching. At the convention, Louis even acknowledged that one class a week wasn't much time before encouraging students to purchase additional classes at a discounted rate. That left me feeling like the limited schedule encouraged students to continue spending more money. In my experience, Louis became visibly upset whenever something went wrong or wasn't done exactly the way he wanted. I and several other students felt as though we were treated like children. We were often provided with candy and junk food rather than meals that felt appropriate for adults attending a professional convention. There would be moments when he would ask us to join him in prayer, and then, moments later, he would be snapping at the group or singling out an individual, sometimes using profanity because he disagreed with something someone said or did. For someone who preached so much about kindness and respect, I found this behavior to be very contradictory. It also seemed that he wanted to control every aspect of the program. Students didn't appear to be encouraged to disagree or voice concerns. Instead of addressing issues privately to better understand a situation or clear up possible misunderstandings, he often addressed students publicly. I watched him call out multiple students in front of everyone, putting them on the spot. It made many people, including myself, uncomfortable, and even some staff members appeared visibly uncomfortable with how those situations were handled. Another thing that stood out to me was that staff members would sometimes report students' concerns, comments, or observations about their demeanor, and those students would later be called out publicly. It created an environment where it felt like you couldn't openly express concerns without worrying they would be repeated or addressed in front of everyone without having the opportunity to explain your perspective. After criticizing students' reactions to who did and didn't receive callbacks, he then turned around and announced that everyone had received a callback. I found that confusing and emotionally unnecessary. Not everyone processes disappointment the same way. Just because someone isn't outwardly celebrating another person's success doesn't mean they're jealous or unsupportive. Sometimes people are simply processing their own disappointment after investing so much time, money, and effort. I also struggled to reconcile the message of encouragement with the way some students were treated. Louis commended everyone for making it to the Lucky 7 Convention despite the obstacles each person may have overcome to get there, yet the atmosphere often felt more critical than supportive. Regardless of a student's experience or background, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. Overall, I left feeling that the environment relied more on public criticism than constructive coaching. While I appreciated the instructors, I personally don't feel the overall experience justified the cost. In my opinion, much of what the program offers can be learned through other acting classes, self-study, and consistent practice without experiencing that type of treatment.
