Very calming and peaceful which also matched the decor. The entire building is up to date and designed very well. The designs make you feel like 'yeah, this is going to be a nice getaway.' Haha! The staff was very kind, helpful and friendly. They explained the layout of the hotel, where the gym was at and answered all the questions I had. They did a great job of welcoming us and making us feel at home. We like sleeping with low temps and thankfully their AC was able to handle our need of 67 degrees. We slept very well. This place has a top notch standard of cleanliness. Everything was spotless and smelled very good. The rooms look recently updated and they are stunning. I really love the design of them with the blue art pieces, so peaceful and beautiful. The bathrooms are bright and spacious, also stacked with soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Taking a shower feels like you're at a high end spa. The water pressure is great, strong but not too strong. We really enjoyed our stay, thanks so much for everything!

I regret forgetting the owner's name but he really was the most pleasant and hospitable person. It spread across the ceiling and added warmth to their hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to board here once more.

The room had a television cabinet, easy chair, table, and chairs. The bathroom and dressing area are spacious and well designed. The rate was $135 with no taxes or fees. staff: Front desk staff were great. Our key cards were ready when we arrived. Because of a snowstorm on the morning we left, the front desk offered ice scrapers to dig out our vehicles. common spaces: There are tables and chairs in the lobby for use at breakfast. Appears there is coffee round-the-clock. food and beverage: No bar or restaurant and only a handful of places in North Chicago, but Lake Bluff and Lake Forest are nearby with tons of options. I didn't catch his name. We booked the 7:00 AM shuttle and rolled up to the gate 8 at 7:09. By 7:13, we were seated inside the venue. Meanwhile, we passed a line of cars at least 100 plus deep--easily an hour + wait, maybe more. If you're attending graduation: don't drive. Seriously, you'll regret it. The shuttle is reliable, fast, and way less stressful. The rooms were neat and functional. Pillows were firm, which we appreciate. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean, with solid Wi-Fi. It's quiet, pet-friendly, and perfect if you're bringing a four-legged sidekick. Continental breakfast is basic. Boiled eggs, package slices of bread, bagels and fruit,. Basically, grab-and-go items to start your morning, but don't expect a full spread. Still, it's convenient for early starts.

I was impressed with the care that went into the design of the these spaces. The rooftop restaurant and bar are great facilities. While we toured the area there was a yoga and juice party going on. Long review, want to be fair…read more We were excited to stay in the hotel even though it doesn't have a pool. I would describe it as wanting to be a boutique hotel but misses the mark in several areas. One example; orchids and plants looked beautiful at first glance but upon closer inspection they're all fake and looked cheap close-up. Our first night was delightful. We ate dinner on the rooftop and it was a beautiful night. We each got the filet mignon and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection with a peppercorn sauce that added just the right amount of complimentary flavors. Our 2nd floor room was pretty bad. It looked out onto machinery. They should put some kind of decorative decal on the windows so you can open the shade for light without having to look at the monstrosity beyond. It was next to the housekeeping closet and elevator bank. It was noisy. The Ferrero Rocher candies were there upon arrival, but were never replenished (we stayed 3 nights.) We never received turndown service, even though they advertise that. Also, when they cleaned the room (upon request) they didn't replenish clean glasses, coffee pods, additional toilet paper. Ice machine on our floor never looked like it was turned on. We had to go to lobby for ice. Regarding lobby reception staff; one woman was just unpleasant, never smiled, seemed put off if you asked a question. On the other hand, a man who worked nights was just delightfully helpful, a treasure. A third woman who checked us in was nice, friendly and witty. The rooftop was closed for events for 2 of the 3 nights we were there. It was never clear to us if we had access to the rooftop before/after the events. But, it was the only place you could go to hang outside your room besides the lobby. The beds were INSANELY comfy. This was my favorite part of the stay. Everything was clean and there were handy charging ports on each side of the bedside table. The bathroom door was a sliding full length mirror which was great. I just wish there was a way to lock it. Loved the rainfall shower head that easily switched to a handheld spray! Very simple to use. Loved it!

One thing worth mentioning: the hotel is located right off the highway, so rooms facing that side can get some traffic noise, especially early in the morning. It didn't ruin the stay for us, but light sleepers may want to request a quieter room. For the price and what's included, this place genuinely delivers. It's hard to find this level of comfort, cleanliness, and modern style for under $100 in the Chicago suburbs. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.
